Fryye Ka'winet, the eldest male of his family, consisting of his wife Nara and son Oban. They lived in peace on the outskirts of Ylee village near the equator of the Otrolan homeworld of Otro for a great many years, undisturbed by off-worlders or even most other Ortolans who preferred the colder climates to the north and south.
The Otrolans generally had more concern for what was for dinner that evening rather than galactic politics and wars and had remained neutral during the Clone War. In a surprise maneuver the Confederacy invaded Otro hoping to use it as base that the Republic would not defend due to the Otrolans continuing lack of support for the war.
Fryye's family was quickly rounded up and placed into an internment camp by the Confederacy. Fryye and his family were in constant fear of the CIS troops, but lived for nearly three weeks in the camp without being infringed upon. During those weeks they became fast friends with Max Rebo and his wife Jat'i. Their personal food supplies ran out and the CIS refused to provide the camp with anything but basic rations, not appeasing to the refined Otrolan palette, tension gradually built. Encouraged by Max, Fryye determined when the next CIS supply ship would be landing and prepared for retaliation.
With other hungry (and thus angry) Otrolans under his command Fryye led a rebellion against the CIS droids and commanders. They failed for the most part and most of the Otrolans in the camp were killed. They did however allow Nara, Oban and Jat'i to board the CIS supply ship and escape with several other survivors before Fryye and Max fell in combat.
Nara, Oban and Jat'i would both escape to the Outer Rim. Nara and Oban Ka'winet lived a mostly solitary life, in keeping with their old lives with Fryye. Jat'i however would bear a son shortly thereafter and named him after his fallen father. She attempted to raise young Max with the Otrolan love for food, music, and peace Fryye and Max Rebo the Elder had died for.
