"Sir, it's been reported that the Jedi, Bastila, was seen heading for the escape pods.
We assume that she, as well as a few others, was able to escape." High General Velson didn't turn from the window. He simply kept staring, waiting.

"And the ship?"

"The ship was destroyed, sir. We took what supplies we could. Along with some valuable informatiion."
Peter gulped, it didn't matter what they had been able to salvage. Bastila had escaped, and Malak, would not be pleased.

A bead of sweat ran down his back. Peters ignored it, swallowed, and spoke again.

"We've deployed several ground units, the Tarisians barely put up a fight." Velson turned, his face blank. It was all Peter could do not to cringe. He wanted to leave.

He wanted to leave right now, leave Malak, the Sith, this War. Why did I join? Money? Power? None of it was worth it, none of it was worth Malak's retribution.

Velson's skeletal face displayed his displeasure. He stepped toward Peter, meeting his stare. Swiftly he spoke, his voice sharp and quick. Peter jumped.

"We have but one choice." He stopped, letting the urgency of his words sink in "We must let 27 out." The room went silent once more. But this silence was worse.

Not only Peter had gone silent, the entire room had gone silent. Staring at Velson in disbelief.

The mere thought of 27 being on the loose was almost as bad as Malak's retribution.

"Sir, do you really think thats necicary?" Peter's voice had lost all confidence. The sweat was now running down his back in waves.

"Do you want to feel Malak's wrath?" Velson asked.

Peter shook his head,

"Than we have no chose, we need to let it out." Peter nodded again.
He brushed the hair from his eyes, and wiped the sweat from his forhead.

"Peter, move. He's in cell block D, cell 4."

Peter strolled to the door, glancing back every few seconds.
He was accompinied by two full squads of security officers but he still felt unsafe. He looked at the cell next to him. Two more cells to go, one more, Here we are.

He signaled for the squads to take position. One behind him, the other split up and took position on either side of the door.

Peter punched in a quick code and stepped back. The door slid open, revealing a dark room. The silhouette of man in the back of the room peered up.

Peter flicked on a glow-rod and shown the light on the mans face. It was a mess of scars and the bottom half was hidden behind a mess of a beard.

"Remove the bonds." Two of the soldiers carefully advanced. They quicky disabled the bonds and stepped back, never lowering their aim.
Peter signaled and another soldier advanced this time carry a large bag. The soldier dropped the bag infront of the man.

"In the bag is you old armour, knife, a blaster and a razor. Clean up and tell us when your ready. And please hurry."
Peter rolled the glow rod into the cell. He then closed, and locked the door.

The was a loud rapping at the door. Peter re-entered the code and the door slid open. He saw nothing. Fear shot down Peter's spine, he was about to turn and run before he saw 27.

A dark red light shown through the darkness. The man stepped out of his cell, bearing his new armour. He looked faintly like any other Sith trooper, except his armour was all black.

There was almost no un-armoured section on the suit. And the size of the face plate had been reduced from a large black mass, to three rectangular red lights. Each spanning the length of his face.

The man stared at Peter, who signaled for another trooper. This one handed Peter a small data-pad, which Peter swiftly handed over to 27. Peter took a few steps back and began to speak.

"In the data-pad you'll find a description of your target, a map of the area, and a list of locations where information may be found. If you'll follow these men they'll lead you to your ship."

Peter pointed and one of the men nodded. 27 stood stalk still, glaring down at Peter. Peter's heart pounding against his ribcage. After roughly thirty seconds, 27 finaly looked at the officer and began walking. Leaving them all behind.

"Well don't just stand there!" The soldiers hurried off after the man. Peter straightened his uniform, and began walking back to the observation deck. He had managed to regain some of his composure.

He'd need all of his compsure if he wanted to confront Malak. Which hopefully wasn't for a long, long time.

As he walked he began to wonder what would happen if 27 did find the jedi. Would it matter? Or would it be to late? He could only wonder as 27 set

27 walked the pathways of the upper Taris, drawing attention to himself but not caring. He'd be forgotten soon enough, and anyone who had any incling of who or what he was were back on the ship.

Anyone who was unlucky enough to find out what he was wouldn't be around long enough to tell anyone. He was heading for an apartment complex towards the cheaper part of the city.

Bastila, as well as several companions had been spotted leaving the complex several times. 27 didn't care who Bastila was, she was his prey. Thats all that mattered. She would meet the same fate as anyother victim of his.

Jedi or no jedi, she would die. Not yet had 27 been unsucessful. Fourtysix hunts, Fourtysix kills. Plus anyone who got in his way.

Blasters, blades, fists, no matter the scenario or circumstances he got the job done. This was his first hunt in four months, it was wonderful to be out again.

He had reached the entrance to the apartment complex. Time to get serious. He cracked his neck and entered the complex. They weren't exactly high end.

The occasional bug could be seen scuttling for cover. The tennents consisted mainly of aliens, in other words the outcasts of society.

A quaren quickly shuffled to the side as 27 passed. The complex was a ring with rooms at regualar intervals. Each apartment consisting of one room. Twelve apartment, one jedi.

27 appraoched the first appartment. Apparently the tennent had nothing of great value or warrenting security seeing as how there was no security system.

This probably wasn't the jedi's room but he didn't want to take any chances. The room was bare except for a sofa, some empty cans and what looked to be the leftovers of some chewing spices.

No Jedi. He entered the next appartment, again no security. No one was home, and this room was even more bare than the first. One backpack was propped up against a single chair.

The next room was full of several sleeping twi'leks, 27 quietly crept through room. They were garbed in rags. Some had combat suits but nothing fancy, and none matched the description.

27 quietly crept out of the room. Not because he was frightened, he could handle these guys. He simply wished to avoid drawing attention to himself. He tried the next door, locked.

Watching for witnesses 27 withdrew his blaster pistol and blew open the keypad. The door slid open and 27 stormed in. A man stood, a vibroblade clinched in his hand.

"Who are you?" The man's voice was weak and frightened. He Gripped the blade with his second hand, and pointed it at twentyseven. Again he spoke, his voice stronger now.

"Your not allowed in here! I'll...I'll stab you." 27 let off a single round and the man dropped the group. A large chunk of his head was missing. 27 looked back out into the hallway, no one there.

He grabbed the body and tossed it on the bed in the corner of the room and moved on. The next eight were empty. None with any evidence or recent inhabitance.

One more room. He tried to open the door. Locked, and it looked as though the lock had been modified recently so as to keep average security spikes from hacking the door.

27 acted as before and shot the panel. The door began to slide open but stopped abrouptly stopped. 27 stared, slightly shocked. This was definately the room. He gripped on of the sliders and began to push.

Slowly the door slid open and 27 slipped in blaster ready. The room was empty, but differrent than the others. The bed sheets had ben left askew and some warm food had been left on a small makeshift table.

Infact, some warm food had been left on the table as well. As he surveyed the room he heard footsteps approaching the apartment. He dropped the bowl he had been inspecting and rolled to the door.

His back to the wall just inside and to the left of the door. The footsteps grew louder, 27 braced himself ready to pounced. A shadow appeared at the door, and then a man stepped in followed by a small droid.

27 leaped at him. The man turned in suprise and braced himself for the contact, as 27 slamned him into the wall. There was a sickining crack and the mans legs came out from under him. The man's legs had gone limp.

27 turned and fired upon the drid. The was a burst of sparks and shrapnel. 27 turned to the door, expecting more. Nothing, he carefuly stolled over to the droid.

Anger flooded through him when he realised what it was, a cleaning droid. He turned and the old man by his shoulders.

"The jedi, where is she?" The old man coughed and looked up at 27. Fear shot across his face and he opened his mouth, ready to scream. 27 slamned him on the table. The man coughed again, blood trickling from his mouth.

"I... I don't know what your..." Before he could finish 27 ran him full force into the opposite wall. Pain shot up his back and into his head.

"The woman, where did she go." The old man began pleading, begging. 27 gave him a knee to the ribs.

"Just tell me where she went." The man shook his head, and looked out the door. Hoping for help.

"Please, I don't know. Just let me go!" 27 hesitated for a moment, before he flung the man at the window. The old man didn't have time to scream as he went flying through the glass and down to the undercity.
