And as I said: That's no problem. Don't use the battle system.
I will be designing a simplified rule system without Saber-Locks though for those who feel like doing an action RPG but don't want to use the full system either because they can't wrap their minds around it or they simply want to skip the step. Even if Saber-locks are what add alot of the strategy.

As you said. The full system is mostly for older players, players who may have played pen-and-paper RPGs in the past and know what's going on.

Give it a shot when it's done, don't give it a shot when it's done, use it, don't use it. Or in the words of Kenobi: Do what you feel is right of course.

This system would not be for most Roleplays, it's a completely different style. It's a roleplaying game. Emphasis on the game portion Very Happy

So rest assured the current method of roleplaying is sticking around. Any thread using this system will likely have [Combat] in the title.

The main thing here I trying to make sure there's something on the forum for everyone. Including old-school pen-and-paper fans if they ever come abouts here. Very Happy

I'll probably keep developing it regardless of the responce, and hopefully it'll be a bit more clear when the abillities system is hammered out.

Problem is for people using customizable weapons, like me, for example. I use two gloves ith two blades in each, so what do i have? Amor uses light daggers, so what does he have? I think we should just stick with normal fighting, and just fight it out, until one or the other either gives up, concedes defeat, or does something stupid that allows the other to either seriously impair or kill the other.

Yeah. Like Minious said lol. And my Bounty Hunter has some weapons that arent on the list. Like a sniper rifle, energy staff, Ext. Also no one really fights over what happened to them.

This is a very complex system, and I appreciate the time for doing this Rive. But since the response is negative and it seems a little too complex, I might have to side with the regular system. But theres other systems. Such as tb. Turn based where a person can block or attack with regular posts, but for a successful block the blocker has to have a bigger more detailed post than the attacker.This is how most people do Role Playing in chatrooms.

Minious: More weapons would be added later or you could add "House rules" if you started the thread. Failing that though I'd say two-gloves would convert to twin blades most easily and light daggers would as well with a slight stat change.

Anakin: I suppose I'm not making my point clear yet. The normal system of simply talking things out will always be the prominant system, this is a side system "game" version. All systems can coexist together.

: I actually had non-Jedi in mind when I designed most the rules, but that would come after the prototype version. People thought THIS was complex, can you imagine if I had included like 30 weapons and 50 skills? Razz
