The problem was the dafault amount of the "wind thing"(the thing below threshold) was at 10. When it was at 6:

I also can't get rid of the top little line. any pointers as to what that might be?

No idea what it is. Just select everything below it and crop.

And yes, that looks much better! Kudos!

Although you didn't go completely blue. I recommend it only because blue glowies (like Obi-Wan) retain a bit of natural color, but holograms are completely blue tones. So you've inadvertently made this look more like dead Kit Fisto than holographic Kit Fisto  Razz



See how he's still sort of colorful?

Just use "colorize" instead of color balance. That will make sure everything is in a single spectrum of color.

Then just shift it until you're as close to the movie blue as possible.

Not bad! Assuming it's not deliberate (Liz style saber?), I'd make the core about twice that thick and round the end a bit more.
