Heres my first try on GIMP, though I do seriously need help:

Lol, no duh, thats why I'm saying I need help, but clearely Kenobi couldn't care less, because he doesn't feel like helping people use GIMP, even though he knows how.

heres one I made on Photobucket, a system much easier to use. It wouldn't let me feather though, it said I had to convert it to RBG first. Anyone know what that means?

thats the only way I know how to do it. Razz It had Malak as the back ground and the ship as an icon or something. Confused

Yeah I'm nice I'll help out. RBG Is Red Blue Green It is a type of colormode. Im guessing that one of your pics was in a greyscale colormode. (black white and grey). You have to make sure that when you make a new document that it is RBG or else you like can't do anything colorful.

Is there a way to convert a black grey white image to RBG?

Yes When you open a new document that you are goign to paste into you just select RBG instead of Greyscale.

Hm, Since your just starting These may help, I don't know. 5 pages of gimp tutorial, not sure if they are basics or what, but you might wnt to take a look at them.

Must have missed that. Yeah, photoshop is awesome, it was a bit confusing for me at first, but I'm gettting better at it. There are tons of tutorials out there for it.

Here it is with the images faded. I had to fade Asajj and Sidious less, because behind Asajj was the Hyperspace logo, and it was hard to see her then, and Sidious didn't show up well against his background:

Cut and mix there background with them still being able to see threw.Ventress shouldnt be cuz you can see the H mark from Hyperspace.

What you should do is cut out the background of the pics. So instead of having

Yeah, I would, but a lot of the backgrounds are awesome as they are. If someone requested it done though, of course I would, and I'm sure I'll have some sigs where I cut it, but cutting is quite hard.

Yes but some of the background kinda breakp the picture and it kinda looks like you just stuck it in randomly. (No offence) But there are getting a lot better.

Yea thats what I mean,Like in when the dark lord rises,THe obi-wan and what you could cut out the pic,Also in your anakin one.Even if it all is on mustafar you still can see the pic outline and it ruins the whole picture quality.

Only annoying thing is I can't go back and edit them because now its saved as one picture, if you know what I mean, and to edit them I'd have to start over.

What you do is if you are Using photoshop you make two files. One is .jpg and the other is .psd

1. .jpg (JPEG) You click file Save for Web...

2. .psd (Photoshop Document) You click file Save as..

When you save it as a photoshop one it should save your layers and all...I think.

Abba is right if you save as .psd you get all the layers and therefore it is easier to edit instead of making it all over again. A hell of a lot easier

Ok. I think I saved a few that way, but to make it easier to upload to Photobucket, I think I stopped. I'll see.

Yeah well Photobucket doesn't accept .psd files it only accepts gifs and jpgs and bmps and other stuff.

Well the photoshop ones can only be opened in photoshop. So always save them as a JPEG no matter what.

here it is, it took me ages because I had to work out what to do with the font, but I had the actual sig done the same day as the request, Very Happy.

You go to layer, flatten layer, then to image, image size, and type in the amount and it will scale the width or height.

I took the liberty to show you that anything is quite possible on photoshop if u have the time and paitence.

Just tell me what to do, showing me a completed picture and telling me its easy just serves to put me down, which by what you said in that post looks like what you were trying to acheive.

And im not being hypocritical, i just ask that you post something about the art, As i was posting something about art to show you it could be done.
But i decided to post it here cause it was yours, but if you don't appreicate me helping then its fine by me. (And i had a feeling if i posted it in my thread your'd get upset about me stealing your work etc.)

And you certainly read the message wrong, because it was'nt my intent to show you up.

Plus when i started out, i didnt want people to tell me how it was done, because it feels so much better to accomplish something by your self.

(I just made the saber in another document tranfered it to a transparent background, then copy it onto the orignal sig.)

A few things here:

1) I didn't need to be showed anything was possible thank you very much, I just needed to be told how to do it.

2) You are. You complained in your thread when someone posted their art, yet here you are doing the same thing. Your picture in no way served to better my thread or me, only to show how skilled you are, whether that was your intention or not.

3) If you had posted it inyour thread saying sometyhing like "Here is my version of the pretty cool sig Xander made" I would have had no problem. You referenced me, you promoted me, and you posted your improvements to it. Nothing wrong with that. veen better would be to then ttell me how to do those improvements.

4) Thats you because you probably have the full version, all the time in the world, and a pretty full knoweldge of it as it is. I have the trial for 30 days, and I want to get as good as I can, as quick as I can.

5) As I said, its set on GRAY, any pictures copied to it are automatically turned black and white.

Ok, its just that since they are different pictures, theres no colour that would show up on all of them; like, it would be impossible to read on some.

Theres a site you go to and it tries all the different combinations for the activation codes, until it breaks one. Shocked

As far as the Sig, It looks alright, but try blending it a bit better. I right now I feather my images until they blend. Kenobi told me to set the eraser opacity to 60% and it blends, but it dosen't work for me.

Well, I have the length as precisely right for their lengths, so if I blend it, the white from in between them begins to show.

Ok, I edited in a new one, with the width less so I could merge the pictures, and changed the text - the text in the Geonosis picture is the colour of Anakin's robes, the text in Anakin's picture is the colour of the sands of Geonosis, and Padme's text is the colour of Anakin's lightsaber.
