Wow, I've been slacking off...Not sure what this is about so just roll with it
I know I've said this before, but I'm back for like the fifth time. Not sure why but sometimes I just slack off here. I think it's the lack of RP's which is what brought me here. I like OOC, but IC is why I came here.
If anyone's curious things have gone rather well for me in school. For the first time in years I'm doing really well academically. All A's except for a B- but that grades rising gradualy.
Romanticaly I still seem to suffer from an epic case of FAIL but thats a long story and now isn't the time. Well actualy I think I'll make a little rant about that at the end.
Me and my Dad have been a little rocky lately. I talked to him for the first time in 2-3 weeks yesterday. We had gotten into a fight whitch ended really really badly.
Now back on task...I've been here a some time now, and I've yet to breach the big 1000 posts. While some breach it in months I couldn't do it in 2 years. So here I make a promise to breach 1000 posts before I'm done here.
Back off task...This will be a long rant, so only read it if you want to. I'm really typing it just to get it out
Alright, lets start way way way back at the end of the fifth grade. A young boy decides that he likes a certain girl, he procedes to ask her out and fails epically. In fact, the rumor of what happened proceded to spread like wildfire and the following day was full of whispering behind backs.
The following year passed without any real romantic interest until the end. Here there was another fail but it wasn't epic in any way. More of a small crush that failed than much else.
No, it wasn't until the 7th grade (2007 just so we know where we are) that there was another major fail. The first trimester passed with no crushes or anything. Then, midway through the year the same boy found that a certain girl was perfect.
Well nearly. She looked good, she was funny, she was smart, and she wasn't full of her self. Well the boy had become really good friends with said girl and thought he heard hints of more. Waiting until the end of the year, he asked her out. He was delighted to hear the word "yes"
From there he got the girl's number, which led to several long phone calls. With the dawn of 8th grade approaching, schedules were handed out. The boy had no classes with the girl. His best friend did, but at the time that didn't seem important.
The next month passes without much talking to said girl. Brief "Hi" and "heys". Then, one little day the boy saw said girl wearing his friends hoodie. And, again on another day he saw the girl wearing the friends hoodie. Roughly two weeks after the first hoodie inccedent, the boy managed to get a long conversation with the girl.
There was no mention of a boyfriend until november. When, at a friends party the boy was informed that his friend was going out with the girl. Slightly shocked, the boy replied with "Awsome man"
Already facing slight depressing do to problems at home and bad grades, the boy spiraled into depression. The few people he told the story to replied with
"It's a middleschool relationship, how long can it last." The answer was well over a year, infact there still going...Months later, the boy finaly moved on and found another "crush" in his P.E class
This time the girl was quiet, shy, and smart. Cute too. Too nervous over his recent faluire the boy hardly talked to the girl. Then in the final trimester, he found himself in another class with the girl. Even more crazy, the teacher moved him right next to her.
Managing to break the ice, the boy and girl chatted quite a bit. And again waiting until the end of the year, he got her number.
What happens next? He waits week and texts her. No reply. He texts again about a week later, making sure to say who the sender was. Again no reply. Then, acouple days later he calls the girl.
An answer!
"Hey, can I call you back tomarrow?" she asks him just after answering.
"Sure" he says. A week goes by, then two, then a month, and then the whole summer passes with no reply. Thoroughly crushed by another fail, the boy sends one last text. This time a reply, excited he texted again. And as before, no reply.
***
That was roughly a month ago, since then I've deleted her number. I've moved on but it still bumms me out. I'd like to think that my bad luck has to end sometime but...well I'm a little nervous to try again.
I left out another fail on accident, so maybe I'll add it later. There's a girl I like but again, I'm too nervous to try seeing as how I always fail. She's really cool so I dont want to lose her as a friend too. I think she kinda has a crush on me but, well, I dont know.
I know "crush" is a childish word but It was what came to mind while typing. Thanks for reading

You're welcome for reading! You should just be like me and be born to parents who invented the basket. I just buy a girl a car and she can't get enough of me!

Don't date until you're an adult with a highly secure career and excellent finances.
As an eighth grader, currently, I've never been infatuated (I'm largely anti-social anyway. I know the names of about a quarter of the boys in my grade, and much less for girls. Not that my school is very large).

That's *somewhat* sound advice, in that it's much easier to secure your future prior to having a family. Having a family before you have some sort of career path set can easily place you into a cycle of debt that's all but inescapable.
However, such advice usually goes out the window if you meet the right person (and if you wait, someone else may snatch them up!)

well shucks, my promise to make 1000 will be prolonged even more seeing as how I'll be out of town until sunday night.
But on that day, my mission continues! And thanks for the advice guys

So how mad do you think Cimil is going to be when he realizes that for every post he makes, I go back and delete an old one?
|
Rive Caedo

Not to worry, I noticed you doing that and am prepared to take measures to fix it.
Granted, I'm going to have a hard time explaining how Cimil made posts reviewing Star Wars immediately after it came out... years before he was born, decades before this forum existed, and 2 years before even Usenet was accessible.

it was the 70's, weirder stuff happened.

Isn't that weird, in Personal Family Development class we're learning about how infatuation affects teens, how to face rejection, and the difference between crushes and love. =x
My teacher suggests you focus on a daily activity you like, though I know that's a load of BS for some people. =/

I had no idea you were only in eighth grade. I figured you'd at least be a freshman. For some reason I'm unsettled about the fact that I'm older than you.

Yeah same, thought Vic was a lot older.

The answer is only moderately angry seeing as how it's a little funny

Fail. I know everyone in my grade. And I'm friends with most of the girls. I work with a bunch of them, so I sorta have to be.

No, at a fast food restaurant, but at least I have a job.
TL;DR: Get off your lazy ass and get a job.

What's TL;DR?
|
Darth Samuel

Too Long; Didn't Read.
Attach to the end of any Invictus post, pretty much.
|
Xander Vos
|
Haha so true, I should use it far more often.
|
Dakoth

It can also be attached to the beginning of a post, to summarize a rant for an impaitent person
for example,
TL;DR I hate commies
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
Rant rant rant rant commies rant rant rant
like that

Interesting.
I'm a member of another hugely active Internet Forum and yet I still find myself slipping behind on Internet terminology.

But it's much better as a response to a really long post. It usually makes whoever made the really long post mad.
|
Xander Vos
|
There is that.

Its always good fun to just start a TL;DR quote tree, that really boils thier blud.
|
Adenn
|
I've used TL;DR on Rive twice, how did you not catch that Xander? :O
|
Rive Caedo
|
Yeah, I don't generally get mad at people online - even if I disagree with their opinions or something. But I do get mad when people post something like "TL;DR" since it makes me want to respond: "Too obnoxious, too pointless, too much of a waste of space, deleted your account. kthxbye."
