Tomer's Training/Assignment ThreadOkay, welcome to being an Apprentice. Well, my Apprentice.
Anyways, the assignments or tasks I give you, will either be IC or OOC. At the beginning of each, I will tell you what it is.
For your first assignment, I want to report here.
Adenn
Reporting here master Korak.
Lyn Korak
Okay, great!
For you next assignment, I would like you to tell me what class you would like to be. There are Gaurdians, Consular, Sentinel. You choose, then your training will continue.
Adenn
I would like to be a guardian.
Lyn Korak
Cool! Just like me.
Okay, now, as you have chosen Guardian, I would like you to tell me your favourite lightsaber combat form(s) and a summary of each one.
Adenn
Ah, ok:
Makashi: This form is a single-handed lightsaber stance. The opening stance is the lightsaber pointing down. This form relies on fences, stabs, and very small accurate cuts. It required the user of the form to be calm have sharpened focusing skills, along with extreme precision. Form I of this powerful form is still taught, but form II seemed to die out with Dooku, Vader, and Cin Drallig. This form is efficient when fighting a sun djem user.
Soresu: This form was used to deflect blaster bolt attacks. Jedi must learn this skill because people who opposed the jedi oftenly used blasters. This uses the lightsaber close to the body, allowing sure protection and consumes less energy. Jedi who use this form stay on the defensive until their oppenent has left an opening for them to slash at. This form allows multiple options for the user, such as kill, disarm, or even reason with the oppenent. This form was reserved for only those who had patience.
(Do I have to do more? If so I could edit this post)
Lyn Korak
(That's fine.)
Okay, now that you have tole me this, I will continue to teach you things. I will not teach you the basics of the form Makashi. It will take place here. It is IC.
-
Lyn walked into the small room, his Padawan behind him.
"Ignite your lightsaber, Tomer," he muttered.
Adenn
"Yes, master.", Tomer said.
He ignited one of his lightsabers, it's crimson color glowing across the walls.
"I am ready."
Lyn Korak
"You're so sure?" he asked, but then grinned. "I see you have chosen crimson as a colour... Interesting."
He then demostrated a series of Makashi strokes, each elegantly leaving a blur of blue in it's path where it had been.
"Repeat," he said, watching his Padawan get into position.
Adenn
"I will do master Korak"
He then repeated the steps his master had done, only a little slower and with some difficulty.
Lyn Korak
"Once more, with feeling, allow the blade to become part of you," Lyn said, as his Padawan went and got into position again.
Adenn
"Yes...Master Lyn."
Tomer cleared his mind of all thoughts. He then repeated the steps, this time with faster and more grace. He kept this up to feel the lightsaber,to let it become one of him.Shadows danced across the walls as the blade moved. Red blurs followed the lightsaber wherever it went.
"Ready when you are master."
Lyn Korak
Lyn smiled. His Padawan was learning fast. "Okay, now, Padawan, we will have a small practice duel, to allow you to keep up the movements. I will only block."
They both done the traditional Makashi salute.
Adenn
"Yes, master. I hope this will not injure any of us."
Tomer then struck at his master. Keeping a graceful footstep, he thrusted and swiped, all to be parried by his master.
Lyn Korak
Lyn and Tomer parried, thrusted and struck, the basic movements. After a few minutes of battle Lyn stopped Tomer. He chuckled slightly.
"Padawan, you have just learned the basics of Makashi, although I would like you to carry on practicing in your spare time," Lyn said, deactivating lis lightsaber.
-
Tomer, you may add to you profile:
Knows the basics of Makashi - Taought to him by Lyn, his Master or something along those lines.
Adenn
Cool, ok.
Lyn Korak
Okay, tell me when you want your next assignment.
Adenn
Ready for the next one.
Lyn Korak
Okay, now I would like you to make a RP duelling someone that is a Knight or higher. Then, when the duel is finished, report here and tell me what you could have done better.
Adenn
Yes master.
Adenn
Well...the Rp died I guess.
IC: I should've used less aggresion.
OOC: I should've tried to make the Rp at least 4 pages long.
Lyn Korak
Good, but if you think harder, there is one more that I noticed.
Adenn
Ah, I see.
Adenn
Double post, again.
It seems the Rp is going to die out, again, so, yeah:
IC:I should have been using Makashi more.
OOC:I should have been thinking of using Makashi more.
Lyn Korak
Lol, it's alright. You were... "caught up in battle".
Okay, for our next mission, I would like you to compare the Old Republic to the Galactic Empire. Tell me of the changes and stuff. Shouldn't be too hard.
Adenn
Ah, ok.
Adenn
Ok, here it goes.
The Galactic Empire was formed from another kind of government, like a metamorphic rock. Thus, while the Old Republic was formed by the signing of the Galactic Constitution. The Old Republic was able to create the government on its own, while the Galactic Empire just simply replaced the Galactic Republic. In other words, nevertheless to simplify it, the Old Republic worked hard on building a government, while the Galactic Empire used anothers power to form its own and replace it. The Old Republic was able to evolve and have along time growth span, but the Galactic Empire only stopped short. May I say, that the Old Republic and Galactic Empire are the same kind of government, but was changed into a diffrent one.
Now, I am not into politics, but I must agree, the Galactic Empire was more decentralized than the Old Republic. In the Galactic Empire, systems were grouped into sectors and in return they became oversectors, whilst in the Old Republic if a number of sectors becomes too large, they are organized into roughly a thousand regions. The members of the Senate were able to elect a Supreme Chancellor in the Old Republic, but, the Galactic Empire had been ruled by a dictator who claimed himself emporer, tricking the Senate into giving him the emergancy powers so he could have power. But what the Old Republic did fail at was its lack of formal organization. Much of its operations was based on non-binding constitutional conventions, which were often ignored and undermined by corrupted power hungry politicans than heeded. The Galactic Empire, well, lets just say the emporer doesn't take kindly to any rebellions.
The Galactic Empire had a very complex economy, whilst the Old Republic's influence was linked up with its regulatory powers, the production of Republic credits, and authorization of relevant bodies. Following the Clone Wars, the Galactic Empire entered a process of stabilization and expansion of its economy. While they saw dramatic increases in state control and centralization of economic procedures(Yes I copied that sentence from wookieepedia), it had no effect to its economy. Now, the Old Republic, however, is a diffrent story. The heart of its economy was planetary trade. Intraplanetary support could support a local economy, but, in alot of cases, the high levels of government spending for needed for an advanced society could only be funded only by intraplanetary exports. Thousands of currencies were used across the galaxy. The Republics credits were probaly the most widespread form of currency. Because of the Republics exceptional membership, credits were accepted on all but the most remote planets.
The old republic had a very diverse culture and society, ranging from the religious jedi to hive-like communes. The Galactic Empire, however, was ascetic and minimalist. The Old Republic let all planets use their own culture, but the Galactic Empire only allowed humans, or humanoid supremacy, whilst, like I said, allowed any race use their culture.
The Old Republics early days were not so peaceful, as while they expanded they encountered war like species. The Old Republics army would serve in many wars, such as The Great Hyperspace war and The Old Sith war. The Old Republic's army was meant for keeping peace, whilst the Galactic Empire was used for power. The Imperial Army was the military core for the Galactic Empire. During the early days of the Galactic Empire, stormtroopers were mostly clones from The Clone Wars. However, as it started to grow, the troopers were now recruited Humans. (Yes they were. Quote:)
| Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy wrote: | | Eh, it feels like being a stormtrooper again. You were a stormtrooper? Yeah, but then I dropped the job, I couldn't stand taking orders. |
The Galactic Empire was able to recruit using "posters". Example:
The Old Republic had a significant portion of the galaxy, reaching from the Core Worlds to the Wild Space, though it had litte power on the Wide Space.Their capital world was Coruscant, or know as 0-0-0 for its coordinats, or triple zero for some slang. The Galactic Empire's space contained of over one million member worlds and fifty million colonies, protectorates, and governorships throughout the galaxy stretching from the borders of the Deep Core to Wild Space at its grasp. Their capital was Coruscant, but, however, it was changed to Imperial Center.(Very strange name.)
Sadly, although, the Republic began to grow greedy and thus formed the Galactic Empire.
Well, I worked a while on this. I need to take a break, lol. So I'll work on it later if I have a chance.
Lyn Korak
That was perfect. That was so cool. Lol.
If you want to continue, feel free to.
Adenn
There.
Well, I'm ready for the next assignment/mission.
Lyn Korak
Lovely, and brilliant!
Okay, for your next assignment, I want you to help out three people on the forum. You know, Community Service kind of thing.
Adenn
Sure, ok.
Lyn Korak
Good.
Adenn
Helping, ok. It'll just take time for someone that needs help with something.
Lyn Korak
Well, lol, it could be guilding someone to the right topic. Anything.
Adenn
Ah, ok, I see.
Lyn Korak
Okay, that other one might take a while. Scrap it.
Tell me when you're ready for another one.
Adenn
I'm ready for the next one. Just say it and I'll work on it.
Lyn Korak
Okay, first of all, I want to congratulate you on your promotion. You really deserved it, and you have been veyr active.
Second of all, for your assignment, I want you to choose a War [like the Clone War for example] and do a big assignment on it. It will be like a final challenge... sort of. But, yeah.
The Basic thing it needs to have:
The Factions
A few well known campaigns
Some key players for both sides
Because it will be like a big assignemnt, you can take your time, even up to a week or two if you need to. When you have finished, you should nearly be a Knight.
Any questions, ask them. Take your time, and may the Force be with you.
Adenn
Thanks. So do you, you well deserved the promotion.
Ohhhhhh this is going to be really fun. I'll start off with the title and progress it as time goes.
The Mandalorian Civil War

The Mandalorian Civil War was a blood slaughtering, brothers and sisters killing each other, the sons of Mandalore dieing. Battle of Concord Dawn
| Quote: | | "Your family is dead, boy! Come with us or die here, too!" | -Mandalore Jaster Mereel
The Battle of Concord Dawn was approximately the first battle of the Mandalorian Civil War. The planet held a large population of True Mandalorians led by Mandalore Jaster Mereel (Who had been born on Concord Dawn and was once it's leader.)
The planet was attacked by The Mandalorian Death Watch, lead by Vizsla. The True Mandalorians scattered, and the Death Watch spent days tracking them down. The current Journeyman Protector (leader) of Concord Dawn hid Jaster Mereel in his homestead. In retaliation, Viszla destroyed the Fett's homestead, killing all of the family, except for Jango. Jango helped Jaster defeat the Death Watch by leading him out of the homestead, and by taking him to the town that would likely have been the next Death Watch target. When the Death Watch appeared in the town, Fett personally blasted a high ranking Death Watch member, apparently fatally. The young Jango was taken under the protectoin of Jaster, and joined his group of Mandalorians.

The Battle of Korda 6:
| Quote: | | "A trap, and we walked right into it..." | -Jango Fett
The Battle of Korda 6 was the penultimate battle of the Civil War. The splinter Death Watch group, lead by Vizsla, ambushed the True Mandalorians lead by Mandalore Jaster Mereel on the planet Korda 6.
The True Mandalorians had been hired by the Korda Defense Force to rescue a training squad that had been pinned down by natives on Korda 6. In reality, however, it was a trap by the Death Watch(whom the True Mandalorians thought dead), who had trained and organized the Kordans the art of war. Soon after that, they planted fake information with the Korda Defence Force. The True Mandalorians divided up into 3 groups: Vertigo Squad, an aerial-attack company lead by Montross; Headhunter Squad, a heavy cleanup company lead by Jaster Mereel, and a basic infantry and security squad lead by Jango Fett.
The True Mandalorians left their carrier ship over Korda 6 in six Meteor-class Q-Carriers.The first sign of trouble was when they came under ion cannon fire while landing, causing one to crash, killing all aboard, and at least one other to land disabled and damaged. As the survivors formed up, they were under heavy and coordinated Kordan blaster fire, catching the Mandalorians unprepared, causing many casualties.

The Mandalorian Wars

I thought you'd like something like this. And thanks.
Adenn
Sorry it's taking long but I'm busy with this project in school.
Lyn Korak
It's all good, Padawan. Take your time.
Adenn
Ok, this is taking too long. I've stopped being lazy and worked on it for once.
Well, I got most of it done. Next time I work on it it'll be complete.
Lyn Korak
| Quote: | Trial of Skill: This consistes of a lightsaber duel with either another person or a manifestation of the dark side. (So the padawan would have to duel another person on the board or a Sith or Dark Jedi)
Trial of Flesh: This involves the Jedi overcoming great physical pain, hardship, or loss. It could also test the Jedi's mastery of detachment from physical pleasure and people. (This also could be done in an RP style or even during the duel.)
Trial of Courage: For this a Padawan would fight couragously in battle, complete a mission with a low chance of survival, or defeat a superior enemy. (Again in an RP style.)
Trial of Spirit: To do this the Padawan would have to look deep within themselves, and see what they were truly made of. Often times, the Padawan did not like what they saw, and it could be a highly traumatic experience. (This is about the only one that can't be done RP style. This really asks the person to think about their character.) |
Your first trial will be Trial of Courage. You can set it up in the RP section, and I'll DM. It can be any of the things Jaden mentions.
| Quote: | | Trial of Courage: For this a Padawan would fight couragously in battle, complete a mission with a low chance of survival, or defeat a superior enemy. (Again in an RP style.) |
Adenn
Ah ok. I'll be right on it!
Lyn Korak
Good. And nice from your last assignment. The War. It's very impressive. Very, very impressive.
You're pwning people on EAW? Wanna test that theory? J/k.
Adenn

Lol, thanks, but I never finished it.
As for the EaW...look at it again.
Lyn Korak
Nice. But is it true, or a cover story for them pwning you?
Adenn
I win the majority of the time. Well, I never do all out war, I just use accs.
Lyn Korak
Lol. Well, when you have done your current Trial, I'll give you the next one.
Adenn
Ok. That was a little off topic there, so, I'll be right on it!
Lyn Korak
You get banned if you don't complete them...
Adenn
Arion hasn't been on for a while...
Lyn Korak
Then kill him. So you can progress.
When you've finished him, here is what you still have to do.
| Quote: | Trial of Flesh: This involves the Jedi overcoming great physical pain, hardship, or loss.

Trial Of Skill: You done this against Arion. You had a duel. Trial of Flesh is sort of the same, but will be different.
The Trial of Spirit is what I would like you to do, after you've finished your current one.
Adenn
So do I have to figure it out myself or can I ask questions?
Lyn Korak
(Just a reminder to me of what you've done.)
Trial of Skill: You have done this.
Trial of Courage: Haven't done.
Trial of Spirit: Doing now.
Trial of Flesh: Haven't done.
For the Trial of Spirit you can do what you want, as long as you 'look inside yourself and tell me what you see about your character'.
Lyn Korak
Double Post! Yay for me! Lol.
Here's our Trial of Courage, and when you have posted here to confirm, it will be started in the RP section:
| Quote: | Me and Tomer are on a mission to Nar Shaddaa (sp.?) to rescue a fellow NPC Jedi, when we get captured ourselves...
We have been tortured for information on various things. (You can choose what they are, Vexen.) We have to escape and get off-planet, weakened and without weapons. Patrols, the odd Gang Members, dangerous Rouges and scoundrels, and Sith are present, all over the planet. The NPC Sith are on High-Alert. |
Yes, Vexen will be there, the commanding Sith.
Lord Vexen
This will be fun, and not a rip-off of Hostel
Lyn Korak
Okay, Jaden suggested something to me about the trials and possibly how to make them shorter, in the JC Section. Here it is:
If you agree, you could sort of do three Trials in one. The Trial of Skill, Trial of Flesh, Trial of Courage, and then you're currently doing the Trial of Spirit. How you could do these you ask? Simple:
Trial of Skill: Duel with Vexen and possibly coming out victorious, but you wont have to kill him, although... it would be nice if you did. J/k.
Trial of Courage: Complete a mission with low level chance of success.
Trial of Flesh: Getting tortured, however Vexen thinks neccessary.
I think we will start the RP when we are being captured, then progress to getting tortured then sentenced to death, then we escape.
Lord Vexen
He can duel me, he may win he may not. But I will not let you win.
Torturing is gonna be fun. Can I use a torture mmove that would nmake him go through the trial of Spirit as well, cause the is a move like that.
