Episode IV
Destroy Malevolence
Grievous in retreat! Before the
battleship Malevolence could
destroy an Outer Rim clone
medical base, a Republic strike
force, under the command of
Jedi General Anakin Skywalker,
crippled the warship, disabling

The presence of JarJar in this week's webcomic is directly offset by the awesomeness of a Rodian with a Wampa skin carpet
It also features the first appearance of Argyus, the captain of the Senate Commandos. Although he doesn't talk. He just stands there looking slimy behind Palpatine.

The first post has been updated with the opening narration/crawl now that the episode has aired. Now also includes a link to the commentary clip for this episode and concept art.
I like Padme and Anakin teaming up a lot better than I like Ahsoka and Anakin teaming up
I think this episode had the weakest Battle Droid joke yet (droid firefighters getting blown around by their own water hoses - ugh) and some of the better ones (the battle droid simply saying a resigned "oh no" just before getting sliced up, the smart battle droid realizing shooting Jedi is a bad idea, and I rather liked "We're gonna die!" sounding geuinely panicked).
We also got some classic 3PO ("Well, I suppose I did ask for that.").
Oh, and I also liked Grevious hanging up on Dooku
Hm, lots of good stuff. They even worked in a quiet moment between Anakin and Padme - even if it was rather brief. It didn't feel quite a genuine or meaningful as the stuff they did in the 2D series, but I'm glad they made an effort at all.
Padme seemed a bit... put off by the fact that Anakin relegated her to cleaning up droids. I wonder if this will be a continuing trend? I've never found any meaning whatsoever in Anakin/Padme (except in the 2D series), so if they're able to add a facet to their relationship that Padme becomes annoyed with Anakin being the big fancy Jedi she can never be... that'd actually be something very valuable this show could contribute to the Star Wars mythos.
How sad is it that a pair of 3D animations in a kid's cartoon are probably going to have a more interesting relationship than the "real thing" in the movies? Sigh. "I don't like sand."
And Obi-Wan totally already knows Anakin and Padme are sneaking around together ("Well she certainly seems to know her way around."). Good. I wouldn't have wanted them to play Obi-Wan as ignorant to the obvious.
There's a lot of stuff to like here and next week looks like a lot of fun too - and a nice break away from all the main characters. Yay for Clone Wars!
I don't mind her (at least not yet), but I'm sure some of you would want the caption below this picture to read: "This picture taken moments after a unanimous decision was made to toss Ahsoka out the airlock."

The droid humor bugged me once again, but I laughed at the droid yelling "We're gonna' die!" right before the Malevolence crashed into the moon.
I didn't mind Padme', Ahsoka still irritates me, and I liked how Grievous stuck it to the man! I wonder if we will get to see some tension between Grievous and Nute Gunry in the future.

For some reason, i liked the droid humor in this episode. I'm glad, however, that Ahsoka wasn't as prominent as others. I really like how Greivous drops down and says "Hello There". I had to laugh at that. Anyway, next week's looks cool, but no lightsabers might damage it for me.

I had a good lol at this. It's so sadly true.
I may not like Anakin's "padawan" thing, I may not like the art, and I definitely don't like the childish humor thrown in, but if it has anything to say with developing character, it's sadly bearable. The last thing about Anakin I want to remember is "I hate you!"
It's interesting you mention that Obi-Wan is at least aware of Padme & Anakin. Wonder if he condones it?
As for the episode, bleh. Padme seemed mighty clumsy. And she only has 3PO with her? Whatever happened to bodyguards?
Also, something bugged me thoroughly, why is Grievous coughing?

Whoa, you're right! He shouldn't be coughing.

Ooooh, that is a boo-boo for the developers. Ha!

*Gasp* a TCO appearance!
I don't think he condones it. He just chooses to ignore it - mostly - because he doesn't think he can make Anakin stop it. He might take a different attitude if he was aware they were actually married now (I don't think he is).
Clumsy? I didn't notice that. As for the bodyguards - yeah, that's pretty odd.
If I wanted to rationalize it, I'd say that Padme has been ordering her guards away more and more often (to allow Anakin to sneak in). Couple this with the fact that she was supposed to be going to meet with a banking clan representative and "time was short" (see webcomic prequel), she may have left before her personal guard to get back to her.
As for Grevious's coughing. I think the explanation is much easier. Grevious has a natural cough. When his cybernetic systems are in perfect condition (such as they were, apparently, in the Clone Wars 2D series until the very end) it compensates for this cough. Otherwise he retains it.
We'll be seeing Grevious get repaired at least once (in Episode 12), so if he stops coughing temporarily after that - it'll be a canon explanation.
The real explanation is that the coughing is a cool character trait and it's more fun to have it than to not have it
And, once again, I'll state that I'm so glad that Matthew Wood is still doing the voice.
As a side note, I mentioned in an earlier thread that I still wasn't sure if it was Christopher Lee doing Count Dooku's voice or not (like he did for the Clone Wars movie). Turns out, it's not. It's the same guy that did it in the 2D series. He's just, apparently, gotten a whole lot better at imitating Lee's voice since then.
Anakin is being voiced by a different (and better - in my opinion) person than the 2D series. Heroes fans may remember his voice from Season 1 - he played the guy who tried to rape Claire.
Nick Jameson voiced Palpatine in the 2D series and a whole lot of other projects previously (mostly video games), but even so, I think I like the new guy voicing him a whole lot better (Ian Abercrombie). The problem was, I think, that Jameson could do Palpatine's "Evil Voice" from Return of the Jedi, but couldn't pull off his Episode I/II voice.

I thought it was a good episode. Mostly I agree with what's already been said, though I think some of the droid humor was ok. It gave me a chuckle.
I can't BELIEVE it hasn't been said yet. The best part of that episode was when Grievous realized that Padme's ship was gonna blow. He goes wide-eyed and nearly screams, "Get out of my way!" Had me rolling on the floor with laughter.

Yep, that was a good moment - and the droid that got knocked down by him's response of "well that was rude." was another decent droid joke.
The general trend so far seems to be: when they try to make a droid do something funny of its own accord, it just ends up looking stupid and falls flat (For instance, driving the tank into the coral brush in the Yoda episode). If they make the droid do something in direct response to something that just happened, it's worth a chuckle.
