The CleansingHe ran. Never stopping, or thinking to turn and look. He simply ran. From what he didn't know, what he did know, was that it will kill him. Even as he ran at full speed, he knew his doom was here. He was reaching for him commlink when he felt his feet fly out from under him.
He went flying, face forward into the ground. The commlink scittering away under some venders stand. Quickly, he rolled on his back and sprang to his feet. An instant later he felt pain streak through his chest, glancing down he saw a thrin red line on his robe. The stain grew as more blood seeped from the wound.
There was a hiss as his saber sprang to life and he was narrowly able to block another swing. The force of the attack knocked him back a few steps. He had only a second before the attacker was on him again.
Striking high, low, left, right and over again. The man fought with such finess, Brien had never seen anything like it. It was all he could do to fend of the attacks. All around him there were screams as venders and shoppers alike ran.
His comm-link gone, Brien reached out with the force. Trying to contact anyone. If anyone can hear me. I don't have much time, you must be weary as a new beingthreatens our, he was cut off as the enemy nearly struck home.
Finaly, knowing his fate, Brien went on the offensive. He was able to get off one swipe. From Right to left. The attacker nimbly stepped backwards, and then plunged his sword in Briens thigh. The blade sunk to the hilt, Brien screamed in agony. And before he could act, the attcker grabbed the outstreched arm by his wrist. He slammed his fist upwards into Brien's elbow.
There was a sickining crack, and his saber fell from his hand. In less than a second, the attacker caught the saber, stepped behind Brien, ran it through his chest. The screaming came to an abrupt stop, and Briens body went limp.
The attacker, let the body topple to the ground. Retrieved, his blade, and left.

Paq awoke, the man's plea for help echoing in his mind. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, and sat for a moment. The man was dead, that much was certain. And by the sounds of it, he wasn't the only one.
Paq stood, grabbed his robes, and set of to the council chamber. Over the past month, 12 jedi had gone missing. And seemed as though they had finaly found some clue as to why. Something, or someone was hunting them. A protocal droid waddled over to him.
"Are you in any need of assistance, master?" The droid was hard pressed to keep up with him. Paq stopped and said.
"Yes, actualy. Spread the word that any jedi free of assignments is to report to the council chambers." The droid nodded and wondered off. We'll need all the jedi we can get.

Aldar Natadare
|
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. Aldar awoke to the sound of his comlink blaring. He sluggishly moved his arm over to it and placed it against his ear. "This is Jedi Knight Aldar Natadare" Aldar said, he noticed it was a Temple frequency so he wasn't afraid to identify himself. "Report to the Council Chambers imm-" but the comlink was turned off before he could finish, "Damn," Aldar said as he uncovered himself and slipped into his robes. He grabbed his utility belt and hooked it around his waiste, looked in a mirror to make sure he looked presentable.
The door slide open and Aldar walked into the considerably cooler Temple hallways. As he looked around several Jedi were streaming out of their rooms and all seemed to be heading to the Council Chambers "I wonder what's going on?" Aldar thought to himself as he joined the other Jedi on their way to the Chambers.
Upon reaching the Council Chambers he discovered that several Jedi had already arrived. He wasn't exactically liking how this was looking. But he sat down in a corner and meditated, feeling with the Force what maybe the reason they were called. It was faint to him, but he felt a disturbance, death.

Paq surveyed the jedi. It was great to see his comrades so alert. Sadly, he couldn't set all of these jedi after the mysterious attacker.
He'd have to select two, maybe three squads. He cleared his throat as the last of the jedi filed into the room.

Sirak Sazen
|
It had only been three weeks since the fateful mission to Onderon that claimed the life of Sirak Sazen's Padawan: Marth Vikto. A promising student and great friend, his untimely death at the hands of a bounty hunter haunted Sirak. He would continually ask himself if he could have saved him... if things would be different had he acted in a different fashion. Sirak was at that place once again. He stood on one of the many balconies of the Jedi Temple overlooking the Coruscanti skyline. The commlink buzzed on his belt - disturbing his silent nightmare. Sirak took the device from his belt and pressed a small button. A metallic voice rang out to him. "All available Jedi report to the Council chambers, immediately."
Sirak stalked off of the balcony, through his dormitory, down the Temple hallways crowded with droids, Jedi, and the like, and into the chambers. The circular room was already full of Jedi awaiting whatever they had been called here for. They all chatted quietly to one another, but Sirak remained silent. He couldn't shake the disturbing presence that lingered within his mind. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.

A young Jedi girl was standing among the crowd waiting quietly outside the temple. Her body was thin and her skin the color of pale ivory. She was moving quickly through the crowd, quietly attempting to find a better seat so she could sit and listen. Bright yellow eyes, wide and innocent, scanned over the many Jedi who were crowded in the room. She sheepishly dodged people, avoiding touchign them when she could, until the golden eye girl with short silver hair came to sit carefully down into a seat not far from Kanli Vandever. Kanli a new female Jedi Knight, and the girl was not too far behind her. She scooted in next to her, darting her eyes around.
"What is going on Kanli?" She whispered, trying to avoid the stares the girls recived, as if they did not belong in the Temple.
Kanli swept her hand through her silver hair which was pulled into tight pig tails. "I don't know yet, Sal."
"This is weird..." Sal (whose full name was Dawsalli) tugged on her own short silver hair, looking up at the older girl with curiosity.
"I know." Kanli whispered back.
"Hey look, is that Sirak coming in?" Sal ointed and Kanli's eyes quickly snapped to where the obviously younger girl was pointing.

As the last of the jedi filed into the room, Paq cleared his throat.
"My friends, I apologize for bringing you here on such short notice. I also apologize for the lack of information." He stopped, took in a deep breathe, and started again.
"As some of you may know, several members of our order, twelve to be exact, have gone missing. Very little has been shed on the subject, and now is the time."
Murmors ran through the room. Suddenly, any weariness was gone.
"Today, just hours ago, another member of our order was killed. I have very little evidence, but I believe that this murder is related to the rest of the dissapearances.
It is not confirmed, but it is believed that the rest fo the missing jedi are dead."
The murmors grew louder, and the word Sith could be heard several times.
"As to whethor or not the attacker is a sith, has yet to be confirmed. And this brings me to the point.
I need five jedi willing to try and find the culprate, and maybe our bretheren..."

Aldar Natadare
|
Aldar was awe-struck. Twelve members murdered and no one knows who did it. He felt the need to volunteer his to find the culprit. He stepped forward from the group, "Master, I volunteer to go on this mission" Aldar said.
((Sorry for shortness, having a bit of writer's block))

Sirak Sazen
|
This new information rattled around in Sirak's skull. Twelve Jedi, missing. He looked to the man next to him, a Nautolan. Their expressions matched. Blank and thoughtful. The feeling in the room was tense. Sirak only seemed to snap back to life when the man in the center of the chamber mentioned volunteers. He didn't need to think about it. Before anybody else could answer, Sirak spoke. "I'll do it. I'll go." Several people stared. This was when he noticed the two young girls sitting not far from him. Sirak Sazen gave them a light-hearted nod to show that everything was going to be alright.... or so he hoped.

Paq nodded, a surveyed the jedi. The same expression was expressed everywhere. Another jedi, a quarren, stepped forward and volunteered.
"Is there anyone else? I understand the fear, and the shock. So if no one else joins, I understand"

Aldar Natadare
|
"I think you just have the three of us" Aldar spoke up, "I hope it's enough" He added. As he walked closer to Paq he asked him, "So do we have any intel on this murderer, or are we just taking shots in the dark?" Aldar asked him. He was quite serious at the moment and his facial features reflected this.

Paq sighed, it was dangerous. To assign only these three. But desprate times call for desprate measures.
"Alright. You three come with me. The rest of you may return to whatever you where doing." Paq turned and walked towards an elevator.
***
"Again, I apologize for the suddeness of this. There's not much more to tell you." They reached the bottom floor of the temple and the doors slid open.
"I had a team search the news briefly. The attack happened at the Market in sector twelve, known better as the peoples market." Paq turned, and looked at the small team.
"The authoroties should meet you there. You may use any of the order's speeders." He turned, then looked back and said "May the force be with you..."

|
"Wait a minute! I want to go!" Kanli dashed around, catching up to the group and running with such a velocity that once she did reach the other memebers the girl was unable to stop and slid accross the floor into Sirak. Instead of pushing him over as she had expected to do, she fell backwards, unmoving him. "Ow..." She mummbled.
|
Sirak Sazen
|
Sirak turned towards the source of the bump to see the little girl on the ground, the one he had seen in the Council chamber. "Are you alright?" he asked with a hint of alarm to his voice. Sirak reached down to help pick her up. "I'm sorry."

"Ow.... fine thank you. I'm going too!" She declared, allowing the man to help her up.

OOC: Gah
"Well, I'll leave you to discuss it with Paq," he said after he was sure the girl was on her feet. He turned to face the other Jedi. "I have some things to arrange before I leave. I'll meet you in the hangar. Won't be long," said Sirak. He turned away and left, flashing Kanli a smile.
His boots plodded on the marble floors of the Jedi Temple and his robe luttered behind him as he made his way out the front door. The morning sun had now risen. It cast a marvelous golden light over the Temple and it's exterior. In one of the many gardens outlining the colossus structure, Sirak's hound, Sly, was galloping around and playing with the children. Ever since he'd adopted the hound from a junk dealer during a mission in the Outer Rim. Sly would often reside in the Temple when Sirak was away and was very popular with the Younglings.
The second he caught a glimpse of Sirak, the black hound sprinted towards him. He leaped onto Sirak paws-first, nearly knocking him back. "Calm down, boy" he said playfully as Sly licked his face. "Listen up. I'm going to be leaving, okay?" Sirak spoke to him. Sly seemed to understand and confirmed the message with another lick to the face. "The caretaker is going to watch you. Don't worry. I'll be back soon." Sirak gave Sly a final rub of the head before moving back to his dormitory to make final preparations.

Paq surveyed Kanli. The words Young and Unexperianced came to mind. After roughly a minute of thinking he said
"You may accompany the others, but be careful. The world is far more dangerous than you may think." Paq smiled, he knew the term could be taken the wrong way. However it was a statement to the group, not just Kanli
"But I have trust in your abilities." Paq glanced quickly at the others. Hoping they'd all listen to him. He tucked his arms in his sleeves, nodded briskly, and left.
The Quarren set off for the Hanger. Now I can finaly prove myself to the order.
"You heard him, lets go"

"Thank you." Kanli bowed, her expression filled with excitment. This was a mission that she would be going on with the Order at risk to find out information. Her skills would be more than useful in this situation, but she was going to wait for dangerous moments to reveal the exsitence of her other abilities. Sombering up she walked off calmly. Once she was out of ear shot she took off running again. "Sal!" She called. "Sal guess what I'm-" and once more she toppled over Sirak, her clumsiness prodominatly showing up as the girls main triat. Over Sirak and Sly she tumbled, landing once more in a sitting postion on top of both Sly and Sirak. "Ow...ow..." She groaned.

Sirak Sazen

Sirak too groaned lightly over have been run over again. He brushed himself off and wriggled his way out of the awkward positioning. "Ah, I'm so sorry... again. Are you okay?" He looked down at Sly, visibly excited over the incident. "And you," Sirak said firmly, "need to watch where you're going. We don't want another incident like the one with the droids back on Raxus Prime, do we?" The hound whimpered and walked off in the other direction is search of somebody to play with.

Paq entered the council chambers, now completely empty, give one person. He sat cross legged in the center of the room.
The man didn't move, he simply spoke. Evenly, calmly, and smooth.
"I assume you have sent a team." Paq sat across from the man, crossing his legs. He closed his eyes, and tried to calm himself.
"Yes master. Four in all. Sirak, Aldar, Si-Klaw, and Kanli." Paq tried to steady his thoughts, but it was hopeless. The idea that twelve members were missing, and most likely dead terrified him.
"You are troubled?" The man opened his eyes.
Paq sighed "I don't like sending them out with such little information. This...this thing is killing jedi. And I sent them out there with such little information. If they die..." Paq gave up on his meditation, choosing to lay on his back.
"True, but would it not be worse to not act at all? To simply let it go on, without reaction?" Paq sighed again, something he did all to much anymore.
"You are very wise master Silouh." Paq sat up as Silouh stood and walked for the door.
"Simply calm Paq," Silouh smiled, "I think I'm going to go for a walk."

"Sorry...." Kanli murmured, standing and brushing herself off. Sly had been in between the two of them and had gotten smooshed. She watched the dog go and sighed. "I'm always running into people, not just you. Kanli by the way. I figure we're going to get to know each other on this mission." She bowed to him politly. "I'm a clutz but I'll try ta be helpful when I can." She smiled. "I can cook excellent meals, ya know, girly stuff." She laughed.
|
Sirak Sazen
|
Sirak laughed along with her. It seemed that they'd just bumped into a normal conversation. "Well," he said, "my name is Sirak Sazen. It's nice to meet you, Kanli." Sirak followed suit and gave a little bow to Kanli. "I assume you'll be going on this mission with us. We should be in the hangar, with the others. They'll be expecting us." He nodded in the direction of the meeting place and began walking casually towards it.
|
RainaRose
|
"Oh! Don't I have time to run and get somethings first?" She caught up with Sirak before he was too far ahead of her. "Or will the give us time after we go to the hanger? I have to tell my sister where I'm going before I leave." Kanli murmured to herself.
|
Aldar Natadare
|
Aldar stood in the hanger waiting for the rest of the group. He leaned casually against his ship while he looked over what little information there was on this mission on his datapad. He had recieved an update though. It seems that sense he had left the group at the Council Chambers a new member had decided to join them, Kanli.
Aldar remotely tapped into the Jedi Archives and brought up a list of names and typed in "KANLI". Once the search was completed he clicked on her name and a biograpy about her was brought up on her. It had very little information, the basics of how she got here and where she was born and her age, but it had no information on her rank or skill level. "I guess we'll just have to find out" Aldar said to himself.

Kanli had run to her room and grabbed a few things. She was rushing about, attempting to find a safe route to get to the hanger as quickly as possible. After having a 5 minute argument with her sister, Sal, she had finally managed to rush out the penthouse and down the long stairs. 20 minutes had already past since she and Sirak had separated, she would be in trouble. When she finally arrived to the annoyed group she sheepishly stopped running, keeping her things slung over her shoulder. "S...sorry!" She called.
|
Aldar Natadare
|
"It's quite alright," Aldar told her with a smile. He had been fiddling with his ligtsaber by twirling it through his fingers, but once Raina approached he placed it back onto his utility belt. "So, I don't think we have ever been acquainted, my name is Aldar Natadare" He told her and extended his hand a smile still gracing his face. "I think we may still be waiting on some people, so your not really late" He reassured her.

He hopped inside a started the engine, he sat there tapping his fingers on the wheel.

Rupart guided his speeder towards the market. He was frsh off another skirmish with the undercity gangs. They'd been acting up over the past week or two.
However, he had set off immediately for the market. Sure he was tired, but this was far more important than a few gang fights.
He landed, and stepped onto the street. Most of the civilians had cleared out. The few remaining were closing there kiosks.
There were a few federal angents grouped around a dead body. Two taking note on datapads, another was linked into the street cameras.
As he approached, one turned to him. He entered one last key, and said.
"Are there more of you?" Rupart nodded and said
"Yes, several more if I'm correct."
|
Sirak Sazen
|
Sirak smiled at Kanli. "Don't worry. We're still preparing," he said kindly. To be honest, he was slightly nervous about how Kanli and the newcomer, Mardo, would do on this mission. There was a deadly danger awaiting them. Of this he was sure. 12 Jedi were missing and Sirak didn't want to be number 13.

Kanli smiled lightly at Aldar and shook his hand, her face soft and relaxed when he welcomed her back to the group. Ignoring the other man, she turned to Sirak and bowed. "I will do my best on this mission." Kanli mumbled sternly. Flipping back her silver hair she strightened her short skirt which was now exposed from under the Jedi robe. Her dress was utterly....well.... completely revealing. The normal Jedi over robe was all Kanli had but the attire that Jedi were assigned was not something she wore, even on missions. It was a bit odd in actuality.

Aldar rolled his eyes as he walked over to the speeder and stepped in. He was worried about the mission though. He wasn't the most experienced Jedi in the Galaxy, but Mardo was only a Padawan, and he was unsure of the rank of Kanli. This will prove to be quite an interesting mission.

Sirak Sazen
|
Along with the others, Sirak stepped on to ship/speeder ((OOC: ?)) with steady steps. After taking his place, he only thought about one thing: his lost Padawan Marth. 12 Jedi were likely dead. 12 was just a number to Sirak, but he realized that every one of those 12 meant a loss to friends and family similar to the one Sirak felt with Marth. One was more than enough.

Sirak was slightly shocked at being called Master. Sirak honestly didn't know much about the mission other than the little bit Paq had told them about. "Recently, 12 Jedi have gone missing. "We're heading to the 'peoples market'. It consists mainly of non-humans, immigrant sector is another name for it" Si-Klaw stopped as his datapad rang, picked it up and took a quick glance.
It was a simple message, from a certain "Rupart", stating that he had responded to the emergancy message.
"It appears some one has just arrived. Rupart Cast, anyone know him?" He glanced around for a second, but before anyone could answer he went on.
"Alright in the speeder, all of you." He started the speeder again. In truth, the last thing he wanted was for some one else to beat him. This was his chance.
------------------------------------------------------------
Rupart storred the Datapad in his cloak, and glanced looked up at the agent.
"We don't know much, we're working on getting some video," he nodded towards the technition, "But thats roughly it."
Rupart nodded, he surveyed the area. Completely empty now, the agents had blocked the area off and no more would be sent. So as not to draw attention.
"Got it!" Everyone walked toward the man. He handed the datapad to Rupart. Everyone gathered around him.
At first, nothing seemed abnormal. People bought fruits and vegetables. Sharing stories and drinks, but then...It was so fast, it seemed impossible. One second the two men rushed on screen, then just over ten seconds later the jedi was dead.
The other figure, retrieved his sword and left. Shocked, Rupart linked his pad up, after the video was transferred he unlinked it.
Quickly he sent the message back to temple, along with a brief message.
"Send this to anyone it concerns."

Kanli moved into the ship, childish bewonderment written all over her face as she stared across at everything placed around her. "Wow, this is neat." She murmured, selecting a seat and ploping down. Her yellow eyes gazed about every which way, staring everything down.

Sirak took a seat next to her. The rush of flying off to a different planet had long left him. Now he would only grow bored during the trip. Perhaps it would give him a chance to catch up on some sleep.

"Wow this is amazing!" Kanli whispered, peering around at everything in the ship. Once the ship was safely off the air she stood from her seat and began climbing around the ship, watching everything with intense curiousity. Si-Klaw, looked at Kanli. Maybe he'd been a bit abrupt. "Well, you see that?"
And, for the next fifteen minutes he gave an in-depth description of how everything worked. While a few of the members grew bored. Kanli sat, listening intently.
"Finaly, that button there is an emergency shut down. It will cut down all energy in the speeder. You'd float down to the ground pretty safely."

Mardo didn's say a word the whole trip, he just looked at the planet wide city passing by under them. then he turned his head and servued the other jedi.
First there was Si-klaw. He seemed like a outspoken person, yet somewhat impatient. other then Aldar who looked like he was more of a think first act later type of person.
Then there was Sirak who, by the look on his face, had seen his fair share of battle. And then came Shani, full of energy, and innocent looking.
"A weird set-up for a mission" Mardo thought

The trip passed as a blur to Sirak. The familar cityscape beneath them rolled along light stars during hyperdrive. Kanli's amusement at the speeder's control scheme was the only thing that vaguely caught Sirak's attention. His mind was in preperation to take down this Jedi-killer.

"I guess this is were the real mission starts" Mardo said to her with a uncertain smile. "let's grab our gear and follow the others.

"Yes." Kanli smiled at him, a soft reasurring smile. "Lets." She stood stright and waited for him and stuck close by him as she gathered up the things she wanted for the mission.

Rupart turned to look as the speeder landed. Merely a second after hitting the ground one of the jedi jumped out and started walking towards him.
"Jedi master I'm very pleased to..." He was cut off as Rupart raised his hand.
"There is no need for grand welcomings. Simply call me Rupart. Now we wait for your ENTIRE crew to get here."
Si-Klaw stood stalk still, shocked at the jedi's reaction.

Kanli climbed from the ship, her friend at her side and a light smile laid upon her lips. She was pleased with the circumstance created by the mission she was on and as a result was in a rather chipper mood. Death did not scare her and the idea of death didn't scare her either.

Mardo hopped out of the speeder.
"this is it" he thought "it's really starting now"

Sirak Sazen
|
Amidst the smalltalk, Sirak exited the speeder and talked to Mardo. "Stay on your toes and relax. Are you ready?"

Mardo looked at Master Sazen and said: "Yes Master"
yet inside he wondered if he was ready.
If this mission is as dangerous as everyone said, then how could he be ready. after all it was his first mission

Aldar Natadare

Aldar quitely left the speeder and joined the group. He hadn't fraternized with the group the entire way to the site. He was busy meditating and readying his mind for whatever there was to be ahead. It was unknown exactically what, the future is always in motion.

Kanli came around, Sirak on one side of her and Mardo on the other. "We're ready, Sirak." Kanli said his name with informality, as if this fact that he was higher rank did little affect her actions to him.

Mardo looked at Kanli and felt a bit of admiration towards here. "how can she be soo freely and so excited about everything" He thought.
Mardo looked around. except for the few investigators the site was completely abandoned.

Rupart glanced at the others. He nodded to them.
"I apologize but I'd prefer we kept introductions brief. I'm Rupart, a jedi knight, like you." He shook hands with them all in turn.
"I sent the information out but here's what we've got so far." He Held the datapad out.

He sat, completely still, surveying the scene. Several new forms had arrived. Apparently jedi. Turning his head to the side he analyized them all.
Height, weight estimation, stance, breathrate, everything. Trying to pick the weakest, strongest, fastest, slowest...
He found the weakest, and was about to start when he changed his mind, choosing the quarren instead.
***
Si-Klaw glanced around. He'd heard something, like a screech. Apparently no one else had. Then he heard it again, and started walking. No one, seemed to notice.

Mardo looked up, he had felt something, the feinstest wrinkle in the force. As sudden as it came it dissapeared again.
Unsure if he just imagined it he looked around but saw nothing.

Kanli smiled to him. "Something wrong?"

Mardo turned his head towards Kanli.
"nah, thought I felt something. but I guess it's nothing" he smiled.
"guess i'm just anxious for my first mission"

Sirak Sazen
|
Sirak took another look around the area. Something was wrong. Nobody seemed to have noticed it. "Everyone," he spoke up. "Where's Si-Klaw?" A tinge of worry was in his voice.

Mardo looked at Sirak and said: "he is talking with that guy over the.."
He fell silent because when he looked in the direction he just pointed there was none there

Si-Klaw turned a corner and found himself at a dead end. He'd wondered off towards this back alleyway, because he'd heard something...
***
He watched the jedi wonder perfectly into his trap. He dropped swiftly from his perch. Landing behind the jedi, he unshethed his sword. Si-Klaw turned and reached for his saber.
With amazing speed Pinnacle slashed at his arm, hitting right on the joint. Si-Klaw screamed as his left arm fell to the ground.

Mardo closed his Eyes and reached out with the force. it wasn't long before he could sense Master Si-klaw
"luckely nothing happend to him" he tought.
At the moment he opened his eyes, he felt a tiny disturbance in the force again, almost like a wisper across the sea, it was only for a second before it disappeared again. it felt like something familiar, yet he did not know where he felt it before.
Suddenly he heard a scream in the distance, he saw the others turn their heads towards the sound, It sounded like Si-klaw.
Mardo reached for his Lightsaber even tough he knew he wasn't very good with it. and ran towards the sound. Hoping they weren't to late

Korus Zhett, out for a nightly stroll through the sky lanes of Coruscant (is that the world we're on)? Heard, above the noise of the traffic around him - it seemed those on Coruscant never slept, the sound of a distant scream. The scream was so grating, so obviously in pain, that it sent shivers down his spine as if a Wolvershism was grating its long, sharp claws on a metal plate.
Turning, he ran in the direction of the scream. He'd heard recently, the rumours that Jedi were being picked off late at night - a news report had made mention of over ten Jedi deaths in the last few months around this area, and he was determined to make sure another didn't meet a similar fate tonight.

Kanli had been close at Siarks heals and was lost in the confusion of actions taking place. She waited, distant for something to shake her out of the trance she had been forced into.
