Taanab's Holocron (open to all)

The following are the last few minutes of the Sith soldier, Private Yulan Teb'en's, life:

34 A.B.Y. Taanab.

Bullets zipped past Yulan's head. He ran past falling troops, delivering the one thing that could take Pandath and destroy the Republic resistance; a holocron containing great knowledge of the force, knowledge so powerful whoever ((as long as they can wield the force)) wielded it would become a great force user, Jedi or Sith. The Jedi guarded it, believing it too powerful to give to any single Jedi. In a matter of days a Jedi Knight could become a Jedi Master with the device. Yulan had to bring it to the Sith.

"Argh!" screamed one of the thousands of invading Sith troopers being shot while hiding in a trenchline around the city.

"FIRE!" yelled another officer, ordering an artillary crew to blast apart an office building in the city. "They're strafing our lines with fighters! Shoot them down!"

A starfighter zipped by overhead, dropping a bomb a few yards away from Yulan. It exploded with a huge roar, killing everyone in that particular artillary crew. Yulan swerved his head around, but he couldn't see. All he could do was lye down and groan in agony, feeling a massive wooden timber stuck in his chest. blood wettened his armor and he passed into the shadow in minutes, seeing only a bright white light....

The following is a scene from the life of Halben Gal'bert, a Republic soldier:

"CHARGE!" yelled Halben's commander following the strafing of the enemy's trenchline. "Forward comrades!"

A few Jedi and a huge line of Republic and town militia advanced from the city, charging toward the trenchline. Countless soldiers fell while the gunfire continued, but eventually they made it into the trenches, battering down the remains of the weak defenders.

"Retreat back to secondary defences!" yelled the Sith commander, running with at least a hundred-fifty soldiers to the other trenchlines.

"Kill 'em!" yelled one Republic rifleman, shooting the commander in the arm.

The commander yelped but kept moving toward the line, being rescued by an armoured tank along the way.

"We've taken it!" joyously roared one happy Republic soldier. "We've taken the trenchline!"

"The first trenchline," corrected the Jedi commander. "But I have a feeling the other trenches won't last long."

"Haha!" laughed the overjoyed Republic soldier. "Come get some, cowards! I'd like to see you try to take this trench back!"

"What's this?" questioned a soldier, picking up the holocron.

"A holocron," suggested the Jedi. "Odd. I didn't know we kept holocrons in Taanab. We'll keep it here tonight, just for protection. Tommarow we'll have it transported to my master in Taanab. He'll know what to do."

"Where should it go?" asked Halben.

"Put it in the former Sith HQ for this trench," ordered the Jedi. "Defend it well."

Halben and the other trooper brought it to the HQ and deposited it on a table. A security camera followed them around the room. Halben picked out his blaster and shot it, frying the machine....

Sith Invasion Council Building, behind the fifth trenchline.

Darth Mortalis stared in awe at the holocron. Could it be-? No. Not a chance. They wouldn't hide it here. Bane's holocron? No, it was just some old Jedi historical thing. But... it looked like a Sith holocron. An old one too. Mortalis looked up at the equally awestruck council.

"I'll ready a retrieval assault," they all stated at once.

"When will it-?" began Mortalis, looking to the commander.

"Tonight," he answered. "I've seen enough to know that we may not retrieve it if we cannot take it tonight. I am unsure of what it is, but I sense a strong force presence in it. Like it's... calling me to it."

"I'll ready my troops now," Mortalis said, walking to his troopers in the fifth trench.

Each Sith had part of his forces deposited in part of the trench. It was his or her responsibility to maintain the defense of that trench. The more elite the units, the farther back their trench. New units were in front, trying to gain combat experience. The special opps and heavily armed soldiers were in the way back, outside of the fight. However, now that the entire frontal line had failed the Sith, and all the Sith had failed the Dark Lord, perhaps it was time for the true powers of both sides to be unleashed upon each other....
