Stat trackingWe've had an apparent upswing in activity since Xander's roleplay and Clone Wars Season 2 got things rolling again, so I wanted have that confirmed by checking out our activity.
Remember? The stuff I used to post like this?
Well that's been removed, it seems. So we'd need to add our own.
This system was suggested by the myfreeforums Admin: http://www.statcounter.com/

Yep, I'd be happy to add it. I'm crazy about stats, so it'd be cool. What other stats would it offer?

The Most Honorable Chairman of Devrin Points Inc. also likes the idea.

The main feature it would add is flexibility. With the old system we basically had 2 options:
1. Show the number of visitors every day for the past month.
2. Pick a random day from each of the past 27 months and show those.
Situation 1 was fine for short term trends, but situation 2 was only "acceptable" for showing long term trends. It didn't show the average a month or anything - it just picked a randomish one, so it was imprecise.
The 27 month limit also meant we couldn't go back further than a little over 2 years - and we've lasted a lot longer than that now.
Statcounter will allow us to say "Show us every single day for the past year" or "Show us the average for every month last year" and, significantly, "Show us where we were 3 years ago" (that is, if we last until 2012)

Ah, so it can't show us how we were in 2005? It can only record us going forward from now? That's dissapointing, as it won't include all our spikes in activity.

I could always just forge a graph showing record levels of activity if you'd like. As long as no one tips off the Jianna Report that is.
|
Xander Vos

But it's like... the majority of our history is no longer on record. That kind of saddens me.

Cheer up buttercup!
And no I'm not gonna go upload a version you can actually read. I'm hoarding the data for myself!

Devrin

Will you do it for 3 Devrin Points?

This looks to be the longest record I have. Collecting semi-random datapoints from June 2006 to August 2008

As long as it doesn't slow down the site to point it acts like cold molasses, I have no problem with it. It will serve to depress me when activity dies and I've been feeling way too happy as of late.

Well in that case I'm all for it, nothing like opressing Sirak to put that extra jump in your step!

The depression is beginning.

I'm playing Dragon Age and Xander said he wouldn't be on the computer much today - so everyone else needs to pick up our slack

Raina is going to find a way to increase her activity again, so she is alll for it!

Don't look at me, if you were playing Dragon Age, you'd be absent too! Honestly though we can't tell if its a depression yet, it might be a recession. We wont know for probably fourteen years.

Recession would require two days of minimal posting by definition, and I doubt that'll happen.
So seeing as my state last night was not one to assess the site, what made Sirak think it was a Depression?

Rive Caedo

There was a bit of a dearth of posts for the evening. We've been getting dozens per day this month (thus the return of the return logo), but last night probably had less than 15.
Today looks to be back towards normal (in the context of recent levels).

Hmm... and you and I are posting. What a coincidence.

Breaking Report: Disgraced Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Democrat. His way out and wacky "certain point of view" morality only being matched by his treasonous opposition to the Empire.
Not only that, but we've received reports that he's been associating with a young boy named "Luke" for over a decade. When found staring at the boy through a pair of electrobinoculars across a crowded marketplace, he claimed he was "protecting him from the Empire" - *cough* yeah, suuuuuure.
Protection? Or sick, twisted, and Untatooinian obsession? We report, you decide.

I actually intended on doing a Sazen Report when the Forum Wars started up. I think I'll do one soon if something interesting happens.
