Nah, I'm onto Empire at War, though I haven't played it much this holidays surprisingly, I thought I'd play it more.

It's basically an upgraded version.
Empire at War - although I haven't played anything besides the demo myself (I'll need to fix that someday - is it a bargain bin title yet?  ) definitely features a more Star Warsy feel. Space Battles instead of having X-Wings hover just above the ground 
But yes, I loved Galactic Battlegrounds for many years after it was released. The countless appearances by obscure Expanded Universe characters was a lot of fun (although they were all basically the same character once you got them on the battlefield - a little sprite with an extra-strong blaster).
