Soundtracks for... well, characters, roleplays and whatnot
K....
I brought this up a long time ago on TDSL....
What if you chose soundtracks/songs that fit your character, a roleplay or a fanfiction extremely well? Post them here.... I always thought it was fun to post a song alongside a fanfiction post, but I haven't, apparently, done it often.
That kind of format. Only one rule... no heavy metal/stupid-beyond-belief songs. And no Rick Rolling, I guess.... unless it's really funny.

Hmm this is a good idea. I don't really know much music that would go with Star Wars though... And anything else wouldn't really click anyway.
Lord Invictus
Meh... I thought, depending on the scenario, there are many songs that could fit a character/story.
Also, remember, this isn't Star Wars. This is a highly individualized perversion of Star Wars. For example, my stories are generally serious and dark. Rive's are much the same, but do maintain some of the light-hearted nature of the Star Wars galaxy.
I would have posted some Led Zeppelin or Rolling Stones, but Invictus has something against that kind of music (that and I could not find any decent versions of the songs).
I really haven't played around with his older form that much and it's really something I'm interested in doing. I haven't found a decent one for Vereor yet. He's such an odd character.
Talen D'aar: XOXOXO by Secret and Whisper This song really reminds me of Talen. As a Zeison Sha Warrior, it's his duty to keep everything in order and everytime someone turns to the dark side, it's his job to hunt them down and he has to try and fix it. And I really took the "machinery" in the song as the people that he has to look after and the female in his story.
Ado Relek: Already Over by RED This song made me think of Ado and how he's trying to deal with the death of his Master, Kember Tenno.
Darth Havik, (formerly Nella Daron): My Immortal by Evanescence This is a song that reminded me of Dath Havik, also known as Nella Daron when Talen knew her. They were very close and these are the secret thoughts that she still keeps to herself towards him.

Ugh. Horrible version of a great Jimi Hendrix song. Who ever sang that should be shot. Jimi is rolling over in his grave.
It's a Bob Dylan song!!! Check and mate.
... although both the Hendrix and BSG versions are much easier on the ears than the Dylan version.
I knew it was a Bob Dylan song, but Hendrix deserves far more credit for making it big.

I enjoy both versions, but Hendrix didn't have space pianos.
Touche.

Any ideas for Sith Strike? I've already got one for Mission to Dantooine.
Since Sith Strike is almost entirely military battle based, there's only one song that fits perfectly for me:
Xander Vos
Ooh, shiny, I like.
Coupled with Sazen's poster for it, Sith Strike is well on its way to being made into a movie.

Good choice. What's that from?
Rive Caedo
It's from Battlestar Galactica.
Oh, sorry. That's that OTHER Battlestar Galactica. I meant Battlestar Galactica.
Xander Vos
The one with X-Wings/A-Wings you mean?
Rive Caedo
Actually they both had Vipers:
Which are TOTALLY different from X-Wings - no similarities at all
Xander Vos
I mean, take that paint job for instance! Wait, uh...
Sirak Sazen
Come on, Xander. It's not like the body design is exactly the same! Er, yeah....
Xander Vos
Well, ok, the Viper doesn't have the X-Wing s-foils though.
Rive Caedo
Yeah, and (I'm speaking seriously now) they actually did do some stuff in the new series to differentiate them further from X-Wings.
In the original series, they were just like X-Wings. They fired lasers and flew like fighter jets.
In the new series, they fire normal bullets and they fly much more like something in space really would. So, unlike X-Wings, they can fly backwards.
Xander Vos
Wow, how would they fly backwards?
And yeah I always never understood why X-Wings constantly have their engines on. Surely they'd just need adjustor jets positioned all around the craft in every direction?

Exactly how you said in the second part of your post
They'd burst their main engines to get up to speed, then shut them off - then use small thrusters positioned on the left and right sides of the nosecone of the fighter to spin it around.
So they'd be flying in the same direction they were originally, but facing the other way. Often used to great effect at taking out enemy fighters on their tails
This doesn't work in Star Wars since things slow down when you shut your engines off.
Xander Vos
Ohh, ok that makes sense. I was picturing this craft take off and then randomly shoot off backwards.
Yeah... that seems one of the major problems in SW I picked up on. That and Han's 'It'll make .5 past lightspeed' considering the SW Galaxy is 100,000 lightyears across.
I think it was later retconned to meaning it was a .5 rated hyperdrive which is extremely fast.
Rive Caedo
Yeah, Wookieepedia has a pretty good description of it:
Wookieepedia wrote:
The superluminal speed of a hyperdrive was rated on a decreasing scale; the faster the hyperdrive, the lower the rating. These ratings were generally referred to as "Classes" and provided a quick, although often inconsistent or inaccurate, idea of a ship's hyperdrive speed. It was based on an asymptotic scale with Class 0.0 being infinite speed. In 30 BBY, Class 3 drives were experimental, and by the end of the Clone Wars most military starships were using Class 3 or Class 2. During the Galactic Civil War, military capital ships and starfighters were generally equipped with Class 1 or Class 2, industrial freighters and haulers with Class 3 or Class 4, and civilian starships with Class 5 or above.
Some starships, such as the Millennium Falcon, underwent after-market modifications to achieve ratings of Class 0.5, and Dash Rendar's Outrider also had a hyperdrive Class 0.75, which was also achieved by modifications, although tampering with the generally stable technology of a hyperdrive was considered a dangerous activity. Boba Fett's Slave I had a class 0.7 hyperdrive. Hyperdrives built by those outside the sphere of the Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire and New Republic, such as the Hapan Froond-class hyperdrive, were not classed in the standard system, as controlled comparisons were difficult to attain. Some Zonama Sekotan ships were able to achieve a Class 0.4 by combining high class hyperdives with organic technology, as did the Bes'uliik starfighter via fusion of Verpine and Mandalorian technology.
Additionally, some spacecraft, like the Theta-class shuttle, had backup hyperdrives of Class 15.
Soo, does that mean now they'll be making 0.1, 0.01, 0.001 etc. systems?
Rive Caedo
No, but I can bet that - if it wasn't already done - Han has/will upgrade the Millenium Falcon to 0.3 or 0.35 or something. Just to keep it as "the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy".
Which I blatantly violated with the Narix in Without Sin, but at least I compensated it by making her even more unstable than the Falcon
Xander Vos
I just find any series of ANYTHING that counts down rather than up is severely limiting itself.
Adenn
Hmmm, when I was working on "Tomer" back then I always considered the Vode An to be his theme song.
