Text is better but how about you make it red and with a black outerglow around it?

I use Lightwave 7 and Adobe Photoshop 7 (both old I know)
The text is more subtle this way round, you read the glow rather than the text, if the colours were reversed, too much emphasis would be put on the text and not on the pic, plus you would hardly see the glow

Sig update time, which one (blue background or red?) I personally prefer the blue background, ties the sabres around the edge better...

I Like the Red because it provides more contrast so that you can see the words. I didn't notices the words in the first one until I saw the second one.
