ShaiyaIn case you haven't noticed, over the summer, there were banners on this forum for the MMORPG called Shaiya. I decided to try it, and it was very cool. At first I didn't know most of the stuff, but through the help of other players and community volunteer staff, I got to know the game better and it became more and more fun. I met a lot of great people, and almost everyone was friendly and willing to help out. The graphics are really good, and the player v.s. player part of it is very cool. Plus the different stat boosts as well as the different types of gear make it so that you can be very unique. I would enourage all of you to give it a try, hope to see ya in game.

I followed one of those banners a while ago, and from what I read it seemed like a fairly decent mmo they had going on. I thought about signing up but then I remembered I'm already addicted to one MMO.

Seems cool. Try out Rappelz, it's a free MMO I used to play and it's lots of fun. It's a huge download though, and I reloaded my windows a while ago, so I never could manage to redownload it.
If you do play Rappelz anytime, sign up on the Pantera server. I'll probably play it again when I can manage to download it. I might try the one you suggested sometime as well.

The last thing I need is another game to drain my life.

Unfortunately I'm also in the "I play WoW and I don't even have time for that these days!" crowd.

As soon as they give me an option to transfer my level 70 WoW characters to be max level characters in WAR - I'll consider it. I don't have time to invest in starting a new MMO from scratch right now
... That and it looks too PvP oriented for my tastes.
But I don't dislike PvP. So when they start offering free trial accounts for WAR in a few months (probably a few days before Wrath of the Lich King comes out - to try to steal some WoW thunder) - I'll give it a shot.

So you ould rather be on the endless quest for the best armor rather than start fresh and new and go through dungeons that don't require 25 people to beat.

No. I'd rather keep my account mothballed until Wrath of the Lich King comes out - enjoy the level 70-80 quests. Then move on with my life until Expansion 3 comes out (The Emerald Nightmare, I'm guessing). And maybe level a Death Knight too.
Also: Every Wrath of the Lich King dungeon is going to have a 10 man version - even Arthas. But I doubt if I'll do those either - even 10 mans take too long to progress from one to the next tier. I'll probably run the first one though.

That makes sense...I can see the headline: You have been to Azeroth, Outlands, and Northrend, now journey to the Emeral Dream and rescue that dude who was trapped there (forgot his name) and kill Sargeras (sp).

You're thinking of Eranikus. He has a pretty cool trinket, every time you use it he says something like, "Release me from my torment!" Always made me feel bad using it, like I was gaining ten darkside points or something...

While Eranikus is a dragon that is/was corrupted by the Nightmare, Vexen was almost certainly thinking of Malfurion Stormrage - who's much more integral to Warcraft lore.
From WoW Wiki:
| Quote: | Recently, something went wrong with Malfurion's dreamstate. Now he is trapped somewhere within the Dream, beyond even the reach of the Green Dragons who control it. In-game quests and events indicate he is fighting alongside Cenarius' spirit against The Nightmare. Whether he does not return by choice or because he has been made Unwaking by The Nightmare is unknown. What is known is that with Malfurion lost, the night elves continue to stumble blindly into darkness...
With Malfurion missing, Arch Druid Fandral Staghelm took over the leadership of the druids, convincing the Circle of Ancients in Darkshore that it was time for the elves to rebuild, and that it was time for them regain their immortality. With the approval of the Circle, and over the objection of a number of other groups, Staghelm and the most powerful druids grew Teldrassil, the new World Tree.
Malfurion's condition is a state secret. Only the highest-ranking members of the Cenarion Circle and the Sisterhood of Elune are aware of it. |

Doesn't he appear in a pre-bc Druid quest though?

Yes, but he was projecting himself from inside the Nightmare.
| Quote: | Keeper Remulos says: Malfurion!
Malfurion Stormrage says: Remulos, old friend. It is good to see you once more. I knew the message would find its way to you – one way or another.
Keeper Remulos says: It was shrouded in nightmares, Malfurion. What is happening in the Dream? What could cause such atrocities?
Malfurion Stormrage says: I fear for the worst, old friend. Within the Dream we fight a new foe, born of an ancient evil. Ysera's noble brood has fallen victim to the old whisperings. It seems as if the Nightmare has broken through the realm to find a new host on Azeroth.
Keeper Remulos says: I sensed as much, Malfurion. Dark days loom ahead.
Malfurion Stormrage says: Aye Remulos, prepare the mortal races.
Keeper Remulos says: You have been gone too long, Malfurion. Peace between the Children of Azeroth has become tenuous at best. What of my father? Of your brother? Have you any news?
Malfurion Stormrage says: Cenarius fights at my side. Illidan sits atop his throne in Outland – brooding. I'm afraid that the loss to Arthas proved to be his breaking point. Madness has embraced him, Remulos. He replays the events in his mind a thousand times per day, but in his mind, he is the victor and Arthas is utterly defeated. He is too far gone, old friend. I fear that the time may soon come that our bond is tested and it will not be as it was at the Well in Zin-Azshari.
Malfurion Stormrage says: Remulos, I am being drawn back... Tyrande... send her my love... Tell her I am safe... Tell her... Tell her I will return... Farewell...
Keeper Remulos says: Farewell, old friend... Farewell... |
