And then Order 66 next year. Should be a good conclusion.
Io Lee
Whoa hold up there Tex, TV series? Or what and by the way you spelled Republic wrong when I looked at the title I thought it was ghost.
Xander Vos
What? Tex TV series?
Io Lee
Forgot to put a comma after tex but tex is something in America that people used to say a long time ago about when Rive was born
Xander Vos
Um, of course not a T.V series. Its a book series...

Whoa there, Tex! No need to be insinuating that... ah... d'oh.
Io Lee
Well when you say Series it could be anything but OK thanks for clearing that up.
Xander Vos
You haven't read them?
Io Lee
Haven't heard of them till now lol I read the apprentice books and Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter
Xander Vos
There are just a few more than those.
Io Lee
Yes I know but I can't find any. I was about to get one in DIA (Denver International Airport) but it was part of a series and it was like one of the last books in the series.
Darth Walker
Yeah that sucks..I dont like reading the middle of the series and having to go back to the begining.
Xander Vos
A bit into True Colours, and liking it so far.

Finished it, wha'd you think Xander? I thought the tone was a bit darker than the others, which made it slightly less enjoyable.
Thar Kast

A: how many books are in the series
B: whats the first one called (so i may get it )
C: and is rive mentioned anywhere in there cause it's not a goood stroy with rive (maybe i'll write him in myself )
Xander Vos

B) Hard Contact.
C) Of course not...

Progress: 1/3
Spoiler:
Heck, when reading Traviss' LOTF books, and I disliked them, I thought that she would still be strong with RC books. I guess I was wrong. My tentative like for this book is beginning to fade, as, once again, she makes it seem like the Clones are super soldiers, and are all the heroes of the Republic. Skirata's plan to buy them all from the Republic borders on ludicrous, and their uncovering the fact that there's no orders for Clones beyond two more years is bordering on foresight. Granted, someone finally figures out "Wait a minute, the Clones were begun 10 years ago, before a Separatist movement", but most of it is trash and Mando'ade, which I think ARC Trooper Sull best comments on when he says, "You can shove your Mando'a comraderie." I like it how it explains some of the character's in Sacrifice, like Jaing Skirata obviously being Jaing the Null, and Venku Skirata is Damien and Etain's son, but that only deems to set this book higher and push Sacrifice down.

Hey guys, is there any place you know where I can get True Colors? Because I can't find that book anywhere.
Xander Vos
A bookstore?
I dunno, a good Sci-Fi bookstore should have it, or just order it from Amazon.
ghostjedi17
you may find it at Barnes and Nobles cuz i had recentlly gone there to get a Manga and i saw Hard Contact on a shelf
Xander Vos
Hard Contact's been out for years...
ghostjedi17
I know but still it's in the RC seiris and they might have the others as well.....
Xander Vos
Maybe, but I mean, I could see Betrayal in a store, doesn't mean it has Fury - unfortunately, I really want it!.
Progress: 2/3
Spoiler:
I'm liking this third better. The stuff is starting to click into place about Sacrifice - e.g it's Etain and Darman's kid who eventually challenges Boba about being Mandalore, Ko Sai's abduction and death, and other stuff. I'm starting to warm to Sacrifice - gasp! - slightly, if you treat it as a sequel to this, which just happens to mention the Galactic events as well.
Rive Caedo
I was actually wondering if it would connect to Sacrifice that deeply. It sort of annoys me more that it does. It was bad enough that Lekauf mentioned his grandfather every 30 seconds (which, to be fair, is about 6 times less than Boba mentions Jango). But now, apparently, every other character has some relation to the novels and short stories Karen Travis has written that take place six bloody decades before Sacrifice.
Other authors have pet characters, sure. But Karen seems to think everything she writes about - even in a short story, needs to have a profound connection to the Legacy era.
Heaven help anyone who decides to read the Expanded Universe in chronological order.
Xander Vos
It does deeply annoy me, but at least it raises Sacrifice from the rating of "Rambling load of nonsense" to "Rambling load of nonsense that explains some stuff".
Karen doesn't have pet characters, she has characters that make a pet out of her, and she's almost forced to put them in every story as a kind of "Yes yes, I haven't forgotten you". She even mentioned Boba in True Colours! Skirata saying how he felt so very sorry for Boba, but that he'd make a good Mandalore!!
Which I do intend to do some time I have nothing to read... I'm thinking next year, because there's not many books coming out next year, though I have to worry about finals next year, which I'm sitting in 2009.
Sam The Smuggler
So far, I'm only read Hard Contact and I don't have True Colors yet.
Looking forward to reading Triple Zero
Xander Vos
Triple Zero is where it goes downhill - its where out of nowhere Omega starts speaking Mando'a and claim to have for their entire lives - with HC a notable lack of Mando'a.
Just finished it, and at best its a 4/10. Quite dissapointed. While reading her LOTF stuff I kept thinking, "She's just out of her element, her RC books are far better," but it just wasn't. It makes the Clones out to be these super beings, and yes, while I did enjoy that it poked fun at GL discreetly about all the real life issues he failed to think about, there wasn't enough realism, and too much "I'm a secret spy with an endless budget, lets go tearing around the Galaxy."
Order 66 looks promising though, though it could also get completely out of hand if it keeps going in the direction TC is taking it.
Jedi Erich
wow good job
Xander Vos
What?

Head... hurting...
I think I need to go lie down now.
Jedi Erich
i have never read any of them but know i plan to
Xander Vos
Even after my sultry review of True Colours?
Xander Vos
Eep, I guess no one listens to me, and another one's on its way, this time with the cliched title: Imperial Commando. *Sigh* Now we get super-Storm Troopers who never miss and have invincible armour?
At least it'd get her away from the Mandos... Hopefully...
Rive Caedo
Maybe they're simply renaming Republic Commando: Order 66 to Imperial Commando: Order 66?
Xander Vos
Nope, it is indeed a new book. Karen confirmed it, as well as her other new book which omg im like so toally excited 4!! A BOOK ON BOBA FETT!!! I mean that's something she's never done before!
