Official I miss Rive thread

Well its obvious, we all know it we miss Rive!

We need to be strong though, and look past our tremendous sorrow and find answers.

Answers I say, Answers.

Let us look at recent events.  

Billy Mays: Deceased
Michael Jackson: Deceased
Fara Fawcet: Deceased
Ed McMahon: Deceased
Oscar Mayer Jr WEINER TYCOON: Deceased
Steve McNair: Deceased
Dimirty Tchudkaov: Russian Lieutenant Colonel Deceased
Rive Caedo: Missing in Action

Now we can safely assume at this point, that such an unprecedented death spree is merely a coincidence or perhaps... Rive Caedo: CELEBERITY KILLER is on the loose?

I think this is a devious ploy by Caedo to leave at the time when I have the most on my plate and am as such distracted from the forum. In any other instance I would have assumed direct control over its management by now!  Evil or Very Mad

I think Sirak said his name is Jacob, o something that begins with J.

Rive has always taken precautions to never allow his true identity to be unveiled. He has gone under, Sarah Dobson, John Smith, Methuselah (or at least the oldest man on Earth), the girl scout, and a host of other names. Recently, however, a rumor has started that he was Michael Jackson, and we here at rebels like to follow and believe all of the rumors so it has been confirmed.

I haven't seen Xander post recently (or whatever his name currently is). And what about Raina? she was one of the more active members once. And there were a couple of other people (no need to even mention Rive) that I would like to know where they went. I think that my presence is bad luck for this site...

TDSL is a bit too...big for me. I like this forum more cause it's small. I don't really like big ones, because they take too much time and small ones are shorter and a lot more enjoyable because I can keep up.

Is TDSL really that much more active?

I pop over occasionally to see if Shadow is ever going to finish Life of Empress Saber, but that's about it. He seems to get caught up in an idea - Moffs, Councils of various things, Parties, etc. - and then looses interest quickly and everyone has to start over, which seems a bit tiresome to me.

I just popped over there out of interest and that seems pretty accurate to me.
They look to - at present - have more active posts per day than us, but that's only if you include all the pomp and circumstance of constant promotions, demotions, and rearrangements that we don't really do here anymore.

In terms of how many roleplays and out-of-character posts are active, it looks to be about equal or lesser than us.

That's not to belittle TDSL at all, mind you. They seem more focused on "Star Wars roleplaying (or "rank playing") that happens to be done by real people" whereas we're more focused on "Real people that happen to enjoy Star Wars roleplaying."

Nothing wrong with having both systems out there, nor does it mean that one should try to become the other.
