That was pretty subtle. I really don't care which is better. 360 has a wider variety of solid games. PS3 has the power of God. Wii is Japanese. It really doesn't matter.

In all honesty... If Konami doesn't mention MGS4 for the 360 again soon.. Ima be buying a PS3 in the summer. All these systems are great and have there strong points. The PS3 is probable better then the 360 but lacks the games.
Graphics - PS3
Games - 360
Gameplay - Wii

I know how you feel. I had like 70 PS2 games to about 15/20 Xbox, although that did constitute 27 playthroughs of KOTOR and KOTORII, but now I just love my 360, and I only play PS3 when my brother's out so he'll 'let' me

PS3 is good, but the launch games sucked. If the games it has had in 2008 were released at launch or near it, it would have been great. But, most of the titles they've had are multi-platform, and since it is the most expensive system, it's going to sell less.

Uhhh, you know what was the best game the 360 had at launch? CoD 2, and it wasn't anything worth righting home about.
Meanwhile, PS3 had Resistance, which was an excellent and unique (I use the term 'loosely') FPS with the most robust online mode until Halo 3.

The major difference is that the 360 had no competition upon release, meanwhile the PS3 had to contend with not just the year old 360 but the newly released Wii. The PS3 wasn't able to step up to the plate, the 360 simply didn't have to.
Regardless, launch games means total Jack now.

Name them, the 360's first year was awful, if it hadn't been for a rushed to market GeoW, 360 would have sold half as well.
| Quote: | | Actually comparing Resistance 2 to Halo 3 shows you've never played Halo 3. |
I meant no other FPS offered as much online wise until Halo 3, not that they were similar.
And most of you people seem to think 60 is a lot, but BF2142 had 64 person battles 2 years before Resistance 2 and no one complained about playing with that many people.
Don't even bring up MAG, please. Not only does it look terrible, but we know nothing about it, so judging it based off a 3 minute CG trailer isn't worth noting.
And BTW, GEoW2's online is apparantly so awful it has already been patched twice.
When all is said and done, the 360 is pretty much over with, except for the inevitable GoW3 and the stupid Halo 3 expansion, there is no significant reason to buy one. PS3 starting 2009 has every decent exclusive.

No, that's your opinion, just because Sony's games didn't have soda's named after them, does not mean they were bad. There was a good game on the PS3 since day 1. The 360 didn't get a decent game until Dead Rising, then Gears, then Ninja Gaiden 2, then the rest was meh, Fable 2 and Mass Effect were good, but Mass Effect doesn't compare to older Bioware titles.
Sony, while having a rather underwhelming 2007,
Heavenly Sword (Meh)
Warhawk (Super Meh)
Lair (Highly critisized for the wrong reasons)
and inferior versions of some multiplatform titles:
Assassin's Creed
Madden
Virtua Fighter 5
etc.
had some rather amazing games that went unnoticed because of lack of hype.
Uncharted
Eye of Judgement
Folklore
Ratchet and Clank
And to even say the 360 had better games this year is foolish. So if anything, it took 1 year for the PS3 to get games, the same amount of time it took for the 360.

Call of Duty 2 remains the best of the series and was the best release title for 360.
Oblivion and Gears were both awesome for it as well, along with Just Cause.

Call of Duty 4 will always be the best CoD in my mind for being the first to think: "Hey, maybe we can GET OUT OF WWII!" Followed by World at War for focusing on the Pacific front. I don't care after that.

Yes, but I believe it is also a PC and PS2 game. Then again, PS3 release title as COD4 is a great idea. COD4 was one of the BEST SELLING GAMES last year. It's great save the rather enclosed maps.
ALSO, if you want a sweet singleplayer and multiplayer experience I recommend both Resistance games for the PS3. R1= probably the most revelutionary FPS since HALO ONE!!!!!!
R2=the equivelent of Halo 3 with bigger online that happens to be free. REMEMBER, if you complain about too many people in one location that's stupid. There's a well developed squad feature that spreads the players in a huge map proportional to the ammount of players.

I was actually praising World at War for focusing on the Pacific front instead of being another CoD: Nazislayer 5!! But, to be honest, WWII is getting kinda stale. WaW helped freshen it a little, but barely.
@Scion: To be honest, the only thing that frustrated me for a while was the PS3's lack of good RPGs compared to the 360. But that mistake is being rectified in the coming seasons.

Yes, they should, but there's a difference between breathing new life into something and just kicking the corpse. Somethings you just have to let die.
It masy seem insincere of to speak of WWII like that, but really it isn't. I understand the great tragedies that WWII caused, but we have history books for a reason. All these games with the same basis makes it like the movie Groundhog's Day for me. Just reliving the same thing over and over.
And honestly, another WWII game won't earn my respect (aside from the first ones to do it) and praise for trying to show the horrors of the war until they make a game about a jewish man trying to survive in a concentration camp. And I doubt that will happen.
EDIT:
@Invictus:
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Fable II
Eternal Sonata
Enchanted Arms
Mass Effect
Fallout 3
Tales of Vesperia
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion/Shivering Isles
Warhammer Online
All RPGs that have come out for the 360. And that's just the good ones.
Plus, TFU would be considered an *Action* RPG if it is an RPG at all.
EDIT2: At least the PS3 has the upperhand on the 360 for Adventure games. I've been looking through the list of games on teambox.com and the only one they have is Eragon. XD And that game blew harder than the movie.

Now's the best time to do things like this though since Holocaust survivors are ah... dying. It's been 63 years since WWII ended and so anyone who remembers anything significant is well into their 70's and those that were adults are in their 80's.
Things like this will be done (and I think it's a good idea) - either now or in the future. The difference is, if we do it now instead of 10 or 15 years from now - we have numerous survivors to draw upon their experiences and input. Many of those with the most interesting stories are already gone (especially in the past 5 years).

That was very much true with the original game (you needed 40 people to do the high level dungeons), Burning Crusade amended it slightly (you needed 10 people for one of the dungeons and 25 for all of the ones after it).
Now EVERY high level dungeon has a 10 person version and a 25 person version. It's not hard to get 10 people together. Especially since most of the organized guilds will only be running the 25 person versions together - you can grab those people for your 10 person runs.
The gear in the 25 person versions seems to be about 10% better though:
10-person Mage Helm:
244 Armor
+54 Stamina
+64 Intellect
+60 Spirit
Meta Socket
Red Socket
Socket Bonus: +6 Critical Strike Rating
Durability 60 / 60
Classes: Mage
Requires Level 80
Equip: Equip: Improves spell critical strike rating by 43.
Equip: Increases spell power by 87
25-person Mage Helm:
250 Armor
+52 Stamina
+77 Intellect
+66 Spirit
Meta Socket
Red Socket
Socket Bonus: +8 Critical Strike Rating
Durability 60 / 60
Classes: Mage
Requires Level 80
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 51.

Still, it's much much much improved over the previous years of WoW.

The "10 person mage helm" is what would have a chance of dropping if you defeated a certain boss character in a certain dungeon (I have no idea which one).
The "25 person mage helm" would drop off that same boss in that same dungeon - but you'd be playing a slightly harder version with more people (as indicated, 25 instead of 10).
In other words: You can experience the same content no matter if you're playing with 10 or 25 people - but you get slightly better items if you do 25 (which is harder to organize).
In further other words: The super-elites get to play their hard dungeons and get their super-duper items. The non-elites (like myself) get slightly worse items, but still get to experience all the game content.
It's win-win.
First WTF: Yeah, I probably should have cut those out.
Sockets were special "slots" added in the first Warcraft expansion (The Burning Crusade) to certain items (mostly high level ones) that you can place gems into.
The gems have stats like "+9 strength" or "+5 critical strike rating" - it's just another method of customizing your character.
Critical strike rating is simply a measure of how likely your character is to cause a "critical" hit - a common element in RPGs. Critical hits do extra damage.

I love Warhammer games. Never been that big on the models, but Dawn of War is one of the best RTSs out there, and I'm really looking forward to DoWII as they took leaves out of Company of Heroes' (the best RTS IMO) book.

Because I am bored, confirmed exclusives for each console in 2009 (These correspond with the NA release time-slots)
360:
Ninja Blade
Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope
Halo Wars
Halo Recon (Or whatever its called now)
Ninety Nine Nights II
Possibles:
Future Rare Project (3 in development, likely at least 1 this year).
Mass Effect 2 (If it is even exclusive anymore)
Huxley (If this even comes out)
Forza 3 (Very likely)
Splinter Cell: Conviction
PS3:
Killzone 2
White Knight Chronicles (NA and Europe release)
Infamous
Heavy Rain
Uncharted 2
Possibles:
God of War 3 (Unlikely, think Spring 10)
Gran Turismo (Again unlikely)
Demon's Souls (Japan release is Feb 2009, US and Europe release unknown)
New Insomniac game (3.5 games in 2 years leads us to assume they have something else coming up).
Quantum Theory
Team Ico's new game
Wii: (An extensive list, so I'll just list the ones with potential to be good)
Muramasa: The Demon Blade (My most anticipated title, for those who remember Odin's Sphere)
Madworld
The Conduit
Fragile
Cursed Mountain (Very interested in this one, why the Wii isn't being used as a flashlight for a survival horror game yet is beyond me).
Wii Sports Resort (If it costs $5, it might be worth).
It's odd seeing no Nintendo games on there, but they haven't announced anything.
Possibles:
New Zelda (Highly unlikely)
New Pikmin (In production, probably come out this year).
Sadness (An neat game that was supposed to be out this year)
There are many more for the Wii coming out, but a lot look like Hit or Miss, you will probably hear more about it and how Nintendo will be releasing GC titles with Wii controls. All in all a much better looking year for Nintendo.
Other games to note:
Starcraft 2: Insert subtitle here.
Alan Wake (When and if this game releases it better not only be playable on Vista)
Dante's Inferno
Brutal Legend
Ghostbusters
Resident Evil 5
Dark Void
Assassin's Creed 2 (Possible)
Dragon Age: Origins (Been waiting years for this, looks fantastic)
Eat LEad: The Return of Matt Hazard (Sean Patrick Harris + Will Arnett = Win)
Bioshock 2 (Don't know where they are going with this)
Borderlands (With any luck this will be as addictive as Diablo)
Darksiders: Wrath of War (God of War meets Christianity... kind of)
Street Fighter IV
Edge of Twilight
Saboteur
Damnation
Rage
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Prototype
Pokemon Platinum (Like I need Poke-fever again)
Cryostasis: THe Sleep of Reason (Could be good)
Demigod
F.E.A.R. 2
Afro Samurai
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Dawn of War 2

Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope. Wonder where they got that name.

Well, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post but...
I'm thinking about starting an inter-site online tournement. It's just a thought right now so it might not happen. And even if it does, it probably won't happen for a while. But it would involve at least four sites. I'm hoping for eight sites, but that would be lucky.
Again, just a thought so it might not happen. But spread the message please. I think I know how it would work but I'm not gonna say unless it seems like it's gonna happen, just cause it's really complex

DoWII is next feb or march. At least, that's what they said, it may be delayed but it will be 09.
Mass Effect 2- Spring/Summer 09, 360 with a later PC release
And it's Halo ODST now.
Bioshock 2 comes out on the same day Bioshock comes for PS3. I don't know when that is.

Mass Effect may be simultaneous due to EA's new ownership of Bioware.
Bioshock has been out on the PS3 for 2 months, the release will be simultaneous.

For the Wii I want...
Cursed Mountain
The Conduit
For Xbox 360 I want...
Halo ODST
Halo Wars (Possibly. Never been an RTS guy.)
Splinter Cell: Conviction
I might buy a PS3 just so I can play InFamous. I'm drooling over it. It's made by Sucker Punch (same guys who made Sly Cooper ). Gah! I WANT IT!

Nevermind. Command and Conquer HAS aliens.

I'm with Emby on this one, Endwar wasn't all that great.

Irrelevant, it will either be very dumbed down or impossible to manage.

I loved EndWar. Partially cause I own at it (I play on Hardcore) and the voice control works great, but also due to the great graphics. The only downside was the lack of difference between factions.
