New Pictures for RanksI was thinking about 2 new pictures for the Council member ranks.
Since Plo Koon wasn't a junior council member being on the council for quite some time I think it would be best to switch it to a pick of Obi-Wan from episode 3.
Now the senior council member pic I think should be switched to Mace Windu not because Yoda isn't a senior council member its just that Yoda is on 2 different ranks so I doubt we'd miss him much.

Yeah but he is on atleast 2 different rank images. Atleast change the Senior to someone else. Ki Adi Mundi, Mace Windu, anyone....
At the very least you should change Plo Koon as he is far from a "junior" council member.

Correct, I know that. But we discussed on AIM (Abba, Shatterpoint, DoM, and Me) abotu the ranks, and usually Abba has a big say in it she didn't want to change it to Mace or whoever. And I think we should leave as much of Rive's work here as possible.

I have an idea. Much like the choice part of that time in ranks it can be applied to Senior and Junior Council Member of a selection of the user.

I just realised, but Yoda wasn't the Grand Master; Mace was.

Techincally she is a Senior Council Member and a Grand Master. Just because you are above doesn't mean you aren't. Its like saying a Guardian Rank 2 isn't a Guardian since he is above Guardian.

I don't know, but there was some book or article that said that Mace was the one in charge of the Council, thus implying he was Grand Master, above Yoda.
On this topic, but not directly related, should there be the third Council rank to correlate with the movies? Temporary Council Member, and perhaps change it from masters having acces to the Council forum, Temporary CMs and above can?
The Temporary CMs wouldn't be on the Council, but would have a small say.

I would be iffy on that. All members on the council were more or less equal. They all had an equal say in things. Now certain members of the council had more leeway than the others because they were more respected, revered, and wise but not when it came down to the base decision.

Yoda was Grandmaster but I *think* that Mace was head of the Council. Either that or he and Yoda were about the same for Council.

Not true. There was Temporarty CMs, which was at the bottom of the pecking order, then Junior CMs, who were slightly above the Temporaries, then Seniors, which was Yoda and such, then the leader of the Council, who was Mace.
You always have to have a leader for a council or government, so you have a person to make the ultimate decisions, and prevent arguments.

I know this but in the end they all had the same say. Mace couldn't say beat out two council members votes on a matter.

Ah yes I guess this was Mace but like I said earlier he couldn't beat out the rest of a council with just his say alone. If all or a good majority of the council had say then he couldn't overrule it. Like I said, they were more or less equal.

Ah but here comes a catch 22. If they were all equal, does rank really matter?
Even between junior and senior council members there wasn't that much difference in rank. The senior members were just more revered and were looked up to in wisdom.

Which is the difference, . Plus Junior CMs weren't life-long 100% guarenteed members.
Temporaries were on the Council whilst the normal member was away, so they'd be there for maybe two or three sessions.
Junior CMs would be on the Council for maybe five to ten years.
Seniors were on for life.

I don't like the idea of having multiple pictures for each rank, it makes things difficult and such.
I think they are fine how they are, I understand why You think Mace should be a council one though, but I think Rive did fine on the council ranks and that they should just stay the way they are.
I was going to use the GM one Rive created, but it was too large. There was no way I could size it down without it looking bad, or cutting Yoda out of the picture. 
So I just made a new one...

How? In the sense of the picture could be misleading of rank? Easy just don't look at pictures when determining rank.

Well I don't think anyone here thinks Rive did a bad job on them hence the keeping of his pictures but a little variety never hurt anyone.

Also I was wondering if you could change the rank Knight : Degree 4 or whatever. It depicts Obi-Wan in his state in Episode 3 when he isn't a knight anymore so that picture is misleading. Thus you can use that same pic for Junior council member.
To replace knight degree 4 I think a good choice would be Aayla Secura. Ultimately though its up to the higher ups but I still think we should change that Knight rank picture.

Above my rank picture it should say Grand MAster, or something of the sort. If I was to make multiple ones for one rank I couldn't name them all the same thing and would have funny names for them. Like Junior Council member 2 or something like that.
Nothing personal against your ranks or anything, they look good and all, I just think the ranks are all fine how they are.

Couldn't the picture itself stay the same though? It would still say Jedi Council Member for the rank with the picture Shaak Ti but the file or what have you would be called Jedi Council Member 1 for the Shaak Ti pic and Jedi Council Member 2 for the Obi-Wan one.
It wouldn't tamper with the pictures just the uploaded name. Yes yes?

AH! I love the Mace! Looks a little rough, but I love the pic.
I don't think the ranks being numbered would be so bad and it wouldn't really matter much, only me and Ashley would see it in the admin panel. And I really like the idea of being able to choose the rank image to the persons preferance, that way John can still have Yoda and I can have Mace and this way everyone would be happy ( with their image).

Well, perhaps you call it Senior Council Guardian Member or some such thing, because Mace was a Guardian. Unfortunately, that would mean the picture would be based off your Sentinal, Guardian or Consular choice, not your picture choice.

Well..Theres a problem because Obi-wan is used for a Knight pic to...Yoda has more senoirity(sp?) then Mace..In the frist episode they made Mace the grandmaster of the council...But then in episode 2 they switched it to Yoda...Plus yoda was like 800 some years old..I think hes a senoir because he prob got on at like 80 something..BUt Mace would be good for Senoir because yoda is grandmaster rank pic now..Heh don't bash me or anything I replied to the frist post only..I didn't take the time to read the 3 pages.

The rank looks good, Ray.
My ideas for the ranks are:
It could go by our names. (Dork of Mordork has Shaak, SkywalkerAndVader has Yoda, etc.)
It could be numdered. (Council Member 1, 2, etc.)
It could just be blank. (Put a space in to change each rank without it saying there's too many of the same kind. I've done it somewhere before.)

A beggar is someone who can't do/get what they are asking or begging for. If this idea was given the go I would/could do all the images for the additional ranks. It was a suggestion that I am fully capable of doing. A beggar would not be able or not want to do so.

In my opiniopn Yoda is just perfect for Senior Member though. I wouldn't mind haveing Mace and Junior though and Plo Koon taking Mace's current one, but thats as big of a change I'm looking at right now.

But... the Yoda for Senior Council is the ancient OT one who wasnt even on council at that time since the Jedi were almost extinct.
And I wouldn't care if Plo was used as the Veteran Master image but Mace should be senior council, not junior, lol.
Personally I like TCO's idea very much and would love it being in effect.

I see one or two cases where a rank would be changed, but its a rank, not your sig or avatar or whatever, you don't really get to chose who you have!
I see people will probaly use that against me since I made my own rank, but who do you want me to use besides Yoda.

Ki-Adi should be an alternate for senior, it's not like he's temporary he's a senior member for cryin' out loud!

Shaak Ti was a council member so her picture is in the rank. I was wondering if the ranks I asked could be changed too. Such as Anakin from Episode 3 being rank 4, and the rank 4 Obi-Wan pic being put on the Council Member rank. The Knight Degree 2 doesn't seem right to me especially it depicting Anakin in Episode 3 where he is obviously stronger than the pic depicted in degree 3.

Well, I agree with Abba somewhat... most ranks shouldn't have multiple image choices, but I don't see why the Council Members shouldn't... I mean, some of us had to climb the ranks to get there and we have to keep the forum running smoothly... I think we deserve the multiple image choices as a perk.
I don't want to add a ton of new images, but I think a few is okay.
And Jaden, if you'd like Saesee Tiin get someone to make a good quality rank image of him for junior council and I can add it for you if you'd like.

Of course not. Council Member is hard to reach, and their reward is the alternating pictures. Sith is a rank obtained by anyone from TDSL. If they gavce in to you, they'd have to give in to everyone, and everyone would have different pictures, and it would be impossible to maintain.

I was also wondering if the Knight: Degree 1 pic could be changed as its showing Anakin from Episode 2 where he is still a padawan. Like I had said earlier, maybe Aayla Secura?
