New Jedi Order: Movies?This might need to move to debate, if it goes to that point, which i doubt.
Now, although I know some of you *cough*Xander, Rive*cough* didn't like The NJO series, you gotta dmit it would be sweet on the big screen. It had so many epic moments. The death of Chewbacca, almost every battle in it, especially the two huge Coruscant ones. Ganner's last stand, the death of Anakin Solo, all of it. Plus there's no annoying Jar-Jar. 
But, there are many reasons why it should be made, some pertaining to this forum.
1.) To George Lucas: This could potentially make A LOT of money. These 19 or so books aren't fit into a trilogy, so they could be strung out over oh so many years. That's a continous flow of blockbuster hits.
Now, some of you might point to the recent Clone Wars movie, which was fail in terms of box office receipts,and say that people aren't interested in Star Wars enough. Well, the cloen wars wasn't aimed at everyone, it was aimed at little kids. Also, it wasn't marketed as well as ROTS, AOTC, or TPM were. If GL marketed this as well as he did the Prequels, thats a consistent 600 million or so a movie, provided it achieves an AOTC type gross for each one(and that movie sucked!)
2.) There would be none of the prequel characters. No need for Hayden's horrible acting. In fact, you could get all of the stars of the OT and have them play parts. You'd need stunt doubles for some of it, but it'd work. They are at the perfect age for this as well. Get some good young actors to play Jacen, Jaina, Anakin, Ganner, etc. and it will be great.
3.) Interest in Star Wars would go up. In 2006, this forum was incredibly active. If these movies were made, it could possibly bring a lot of new members from the Star Wars Blogs, or even other places. Added bonus to GL: Toys, posters, the other stuff you own all the rights to.
These might seem like short reasons, but there are so many more.

I've never read the NJO series but I hear it is quite epic. I still think they should have made a Thrawn series of movies.

Maybe, but that's been in comic books and everything.
And NJO is epic. It didn't really get anywhere, but It would look incredibly bad*** on screen. And the interest in Star Wars would probably make this forum active again. (Well, active like 2006. For some reason Holidays 2008 is incredibly active.

I always thought the Thrawn Trilogy would make an excellent 7-9.
I got bored of the NJO around Traitor and the 'epic' moments you describe such as the death of Chewie would just piss of the masses.

I know I wouldn't want to pay 15 dolladolla to see Chewie get left behind and die. Another reason why you can't do NJO is because it's to late.
Thrawn would be good because it's all the same characters except for the Emperor and Vader. But seeing how bad@$$ Thrawn is I think people could get over it..depending on the actor. Plus! it introduces Mara Jade and whats his name Smuggler dude she works for.

What are you talking about? I loved the NJO series. It hung together really well, the transition between authors was well-handled, and the plot was interesting.
