New info on SW:Clone Wars series!!!!!!!!There has been a new character added to the show; as we all know there will be many new ones that will pop up with in it from time to time. This one is the biggest one to drop so far. This a new female Togruta character named Ahsoka Tano, she will be a padawan character that uses a green saber and is a pretty capable pilot too. The twist in this new arrival is that is turns out to be Anakin's padawan!!!! That's right THE Anakin Skywalker a.k.a. the future Dark Lord of the Sith. It would seem that in the mist of all of the fighting and killing younglings, Anakin had time to take up a student of his own. We will see how this all plays out in the show when it airs but it is a new twist that I'm really looking forward to seeing.
*Link to the info, w/pic of course, here:

uh... Bad idea IMO. This is to big to put in a time period like this. Things won't add up..bad idea

Yeah. I can only se the following situation occureing.
Anakin: Okay now. first day of jedi Training. strap these Thermal Detonaters to your chest, run into the temple and then press the big red button, then you will be a Jedi Knight. Master if you press it with Yoda.

Well, I think this plays into the why he was not given the rank of Master thing. Not only did they feel he was not ready for it but also it might factor in what happend to his padawan. I think Asajj Ventress might play a role in what happens to her. She does want to kill Skywalker....what better way to get back at him then to kill his student?
|
Lord Vexen
|
I think this is a bad idea...this throws off his Force Unleashed apprentice...and then another one he had later.
But if Ventress comes back, I'll be happy

I think it's a possible thing but it doesn't really get explained well because Anakin and Obi were always together so unless (between ATC and RotS) there was a padawan there the movies wouldn't make much sense. Because a padawan would have been with his master most of the times.

This sounds kind of odd, but should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Like I said, all will be explain; hopefully, when the show airs.

Well ain't she just the cutest little sum-b**ch you ever seen?
Seriously, this could work. But hopefully Anakin's dumba** doesn't get her killed.
Maybe she'll have somewhat of a connection with his Secret Apprentice from Force Unleashed.

If you have a flash player - like VCL Player (or maybe even opening the file manually in a web browser works?), then you can download the flash file here - and play it anytime you want.
http://www.eucantina.net/media/clonewar.flv
I can't find another uploader on YouTube - or a high def version anywhere. Since apparently Warner Bros Poland accidently released this a month earlier than it was supposed to be.
EDIT: One of the Polish sites still has it up,
http://www.filmweb.pl/%22Gwiezdne+Wojny++Wojny+Klonów%22++zobacz+polski+zwiastun,News,id=42411
I still recommend the downloadable version above though, since even the Polish site's might get taken down.
I wonder if they'll release it officially on StarWars.com early now that it's been leaked?
That sounds like they got Samuel L. Jackson to do Windu this time around, shiny. I wonder if they've managed to snag any of the other official actors?
I don't think that's actually Frank Oz doing Yoda - but it's close enough to not matter.
Also, here's a bunch of concept art from StarWars.com that I hadn't seen before and I don't think has been shown in this thread.
Republic Y-Wing
Captain Rex
Yoda

The polish site still has it up, try again.
The odd character makes it unlinkable/clickable. So make sure to copy and paste the whole thing into your address bar instead of clicking.

Thinking about it a bit further, although it seems rather odd to suddenly give Jabba a son after decades of continuity with Jabba having no indication of that... I don't care much (although if they keep frakking with continuity like that, it could be bad).
What WILL be neat though is if they show they show Jabba's first encounter with a Jedi Mind Trick via Kenobi. Heralding forward to Jabba's exchange with Luke decades later.
"You weak minded fool! He's using an old Jedi mind trick!"
"You will bring Captain Solo and the Wookiee to me."
"Your mind powers will not work on me, boy."
I am waiting for them to pull a JarJar on us though and have Jabba's son speak perfect english, be really fast, and eat only tofu - and, just for fun, have him save Anakin and Kenobi's lives via slapstick antics with his tail.

Yes, it looks like the Polish site has had theirs taken down.
My only advice is to either go on YouTube, type in "Clone Wars" and then sort by date added to see all the most recent videos and hope you get lucky. I just tried that and there were about 12 added in the past 10 hours, but all had already been taken down. Or you could wait a little under a month to see it officially in HD

Ooo, Gizmodo - that one should stay up for awhile. Nice find.
Oh, by the way, if Obi-Wan steps on Jabba's tail I'm forsaking Star Wars forever and switching my hobby to Star Trek.
Then the new Star Trek movie will come out in 2009 and do something crazy like make Spock a bigger womanizer than Kirk. Then I'll switch my hobby to Stargate.
Then I'll realize I never liked Stargate in the first place and trudge back to watching Star Wars.

It actually looks pretty decent, but making the main plot - apparently - about rescuing Jabba the Hutt's son? That seems a little off-course to me...

I think it makes it interesting, because how often do the hutts get involved in galactic affairs on that kind of a scale? The hutts only sit back and watch and take advantage where necessary, but to actually fight? crazy.
|
Xander Vos
|
But there's been absolutely no prior mention in the EU of the Clone Wars about the Hutts so much as batting their eyelids.
I like the direction its taking, but it just seems to me to be trying to draw together as many strands as possible between the OT and the PT, when having Jabba in TPM starting Boonta Eve was quite enough.
He could have easily used a different Hutt and then I'd have no problem whatsoever.

I haven't read any of the stories involved, but here's what Wookieepedia has to say about Jabba in the Clone Wars.
| Quote: | Following the recapture of Sarapin during the Clone Wars, Jabba found himself in a position he'd never imagined: aiding a top general for the Galactic Republic during the Second Battle of Tatooine. Since Boorka the Hutt (a rival of Jabba's) was in league with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Jabba concluded that his fellow gangster had gone too far with his antics. Thus, when the Republic's newly arrived clone army proved too small to attack the Confederacy's base on the planet, Jabba became involved.[12]
After bolstering their forces, Jedi Generals Echuu Shen-Jon and Naat Reath successfully engaged the Separatist enemy and slew the vile Boorka. For their troubles, Jabba gave them five thousand nova crystals; glad to be rid of the rival.[12]
But Jabba, being a true Hutt crime boss, always tried to make profits by doing business with both sides of a war. When Separatist leader Wat Tambor, Foreman of the wealthy Techno Union, contacted him, Jabba agreed to help the Separatist smuggle huge shipments of construction materials and cortosis to the planet Metalorn. His involvement with the Confederacy was discovered by Republic informant Raala Ponchar, but battle droids under the command of Saato captured her and she was imprisoned in his palace. When the Jedi Council learned of Ponchar's disappearance, they send Anakin Skywalker to investigate. The young Jedi freed Ponchar from the palace's dungeon, killed Saato and relayed the information about Jabba's involvement to Master Kenobi.[13]
Some time afterwards, Boba Fett, the cloned "son" of Jango Fett, read his father's "book" which instructed him to visit Jabba. Fett had a run-in with the dangerous Separatist Commander Durge, however, before he could do so. Fett soon managed to escape Durge, and quickly found himself in Jabba's employ. One of the reasons Jabba accepted Boba was to repay the favor Jango Fett did him by killing Gardulla the Hutt a decade earlier. While working for Jabba, Boba had separate plans that had nothing and everything to do with the Hutt at the same time. Besides this, Fett still had connections with the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Count Dooku. |

Do we even know Jabba had a son? Or is this son a new character?
|
Rive Caedo
|
New. Jabba has a nephew and father fully defined in continuity, but I think that's the only solid ties previously stated.
I, for one, welcome our new Lucasfilm confusing continuity overlords. I entirely look forward to seeing Obi-Wan's brother, Reggie Kenobi. Yoda's twin brother, Zoda. And, of course, the secret third Skywalker child that was born surgically seconds after she died (so we didn't see it on screen).

We must not forget the brother of Boba Fett, Abob.
|
Rive Caedo
|
Half-brother.
Abob was Jango Fett's natural son. Jango became annoyed when Abob decided he wanted to be a musician instead of a bounty hunter. Abob was abandoned on Coruscant at the age of 7 and Jango went on to clone Boba.
Boba then disappointed Jango's spirit by becoming a whiney good-for-nothing in his later years, but that's another story that won't be covered in the 3D Clone Wars.
|
Lord Embeion
|
Ya well Jango got his head cut off pretty early, and I believe Boba is still alive and kicking in the EU and how old was Boba when Jango got killed, 12?13? Meh, I guess Jango wasn't much of a people's person and a adoring Father

Hm... it looks like they've improved the eyes a bit since that first trailer months ago.
But it's still hard to get away from the fact that Obi-Wan's beard looks.... sculpted. Or pieces of wood glued onto his face
But, the ships look awesome and this is still the best looking 3D I've seen for an animated TV series... ever.

Well that's fairly interesting. I just watched a brief interview with Steve Sansweet. He said that some characters from The Force Unleashed will be showing up in Clone Wars.
It makes sense, of course, the movie will be coming out a month before The Force Unleashed game, so that's some powerful cross-promotion. But I hadn't really considered it. It would be fairly interesting if they show the Imperial pilot love interest from TFU, Juno Eclipse, in the Republic military.
Also revealed is that Anakin's new apprentice is 14 years old - which likely means that's their target primary demographic for the show: 10-16, which also isn't unexpected.

Interesting. I do prefer that new 3D shiny logo to the old flat yellow one.
I wonder if this will be greeted with the same greeting as my previous 2 midnight Star Wars showings - an enthusiastic cheer with an ignition and waving of dozens of Force FX lightsabers in all rows. (The Phantom Menace had the same thing, but it was much lamer, with the dinky plastic lightsabers )
Actually, I think I'm recalling incorrectly. Revenge of the Sith had the dozens of multi-colored Force FX lightsabers waving when the first note of John Williams resounded and STAR WARS appeared on the screen. Attack of the Clones, Force FX had just been released and only 2 or 3 guys had one (the Anakin one) and everyone in line was ooing and aweing over them.

I think the poster looks good, tbh. Nice and colorful tbh, but will it have the seriousness it had in the trailer, or will it be aimed at 5 year olds? unlike AOTC AND ROTS?
|
Rive Caedo
|
5 - no.
13 - yes.
But, it should still be good fun, like the original 2D Clone Wars shorts.
For the 16-120 age bracket aim, you're going to need to wait 2 more years for the Star Wars Live Action Series set between Episode III and IV. They've invoked the name of "the new Battlestar Galactica" (which I would argue that - while some 16 year olds can definitely appreciate it, it's really aimed at the 21+ crowd) and the words "gritty" "dark" and "character driven" repeatedly.
So, enjoy this light fluffy fun Jedi action in the 3D series. Enjoy Force unleashed taking a slightly more mature look at the saga. And then hopefully prepare for Boba Fett disintegrating smugglers in the Live Action series in 2010
