New Corner ImagesAs the first of what I hope will be many "revamps" leading up to our 2nd Anniversary in December, I'm currently accepting submissions for replacing the rotating images in our upper-right corner.
I'm willing to do a lot of this myself - but because I'd like to have a much larger number of rotating characters than the 12 or so we have now (I'm hoping for a total of 50-100 images), I'm asking for help - it's a big job 
Currently, they're all Jedi images (although the Episode III Anakin is a bit ambiguous).
Now that we're a more open forum - especially to Sith, the image breakdown should be something closer to...
35% Jedi
35% Sith
15% Imperial/Rebel/Republic forces
10% Bounty Hunters/Droids/Politicians and other "Miscellaneous"
5% Stuff that's "way out there" in terms of roleplaying - wampas, jawas, and tusken raiders might fall into this category.
Be aware of that if you're submitting multiple images. Just so you know which ones are most likely to be used.
Due to the nature of these images - there are several requirements.
1. They MUST be 288 pixels wide, 152 pixels tall.
2. The character must be on their own - against a transparent background.
3. They must be in a PNG or GIF format - so they have that transparent background. Photoshop or the free alternative - GIMP - can both export these image formats.
4. They can only include one character.
5. The character must be pictured from the shoulders up - like the current images. (for characters without shoulders - like astromech droids - use your judgement  )
6. This rule may be broken, but in general - to maintain a flow to the images, all of them must be live action. So a picture of Kyle Katarn from the live-action cutscenes of Dark Forces II is fine, but an in-game picture from Jedi Knight II is not. Feel free to submit images that break this rule, but realize they will - most likely - not be used.
For anyone interested in the other revamps... They'll hopefully include...
- The long-awaited Rank Image Revamp
- Making the interface more "ours", such as replacing the "new topic" and "reply" buttons with something more fitting than a Naboo Starfighter
- Streamlining a few forums (such as collapsing all of Star Wars Universe's sub-forums into a single forum)

Blah, but I want something FRESH. We've had those up there for nearly 2 years and they're part of default template! Everyone uses them!

I think if we're going to do this, we should rely heavily if not totally on rabittooth, as there are plenttyyyy of images there that we could use, AND they are in exactly the same format as these ones.

There weren't really any famous Grey's anyway. And don't say Qui-Gon because other Jedi thought he was Grey. Probably the only one I can think of right now was Kyle Katarn and Jolee Bindo

It's still on my mind, but since I haven't even been able to find time to finish up Kallibann - this has been pushed to my back burner.
But, to reply to those three week old posts... 
I don't really want to rely on rabit. He only does Jedi/Sith images and if we want THAT - yeah, we should just snag the SithLords images.
I'd really like to also have a Stormtroper image, for instance. A rebel soldier, Boba Fett and maybe a couple of other bounty hunters, a droid or two, and various other iconic Star Wars characters to represent our new direction.
We can't get those from rabit.

Jaden Korr would also count - Kyle's apprentice, but he doesn't have a canonical race/appearance so we can't use him!

Hmm, I guess, but it'd look a little odd if we just picked images off Google, unless you want to edit them to have the same kind of background as the current images, otherwise they'd look quite different and of a worse quality.

The images would likely be edited to have no background at all. The background would be transparent, like our logo - so it'd show the stars.

Sounds good, though I do like the backgrounds they have now.
So are we going to edit the current ones as well?
I can look for some pictures right now, should I PM you them?
