Alright, so how do I start this off...

Quick, quick background before it happened.

He's a Cambodian born in 1961, and when he was around 11ish, Cambodia was being invaded by a dictatorship (type Khmer Rouge for more information). So, they moved to France, and then to America.

ZIP all the way to Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas. He's a foreigner, and along with all the other Asian foreigners, they made a little group. Each one knew their own piece of Martial Arts, because it was a requirement in Cambodia to learn some sort of self defense before going to school.

Now, foreigners were bombarded with insults from the Americans in this high school, with racial slurs such as "chink, wetback, etc." Ove rthe course of his High School years, my Dad has been in 11 total fights, all in resulting him winning, because the white people (or as his friends and him used to say, gringos/angelos), didn't know how to fight, and my dad was a yellow belt in Karate and Blue Belt in Judo I think.

Fast forwarding to the part where the foreigners and my dad are playing soccer after getting permission from the coach, who said that football practice wasn't happening. So, they start playing, doing their own thing, when the football team of whiteys decide to get the field back. They start pushing the foreigners around, stating that it was their field and to "gtfo." My dad's friend, a Thai refugee and skilled Muay Thai practioner, has had enough and punches a football member in the face, breaking his glasses and causing the glass to get into his eye. Football team loses one guy.

My dad joins in and takes on about five guys, and he's just continually blocking the punches while the other foreigners are kicking butt. Then, as he's holding off two punches, he gets a hard uppercut to the lip that still remains there as a scar today. Of course, he gets pissed off, and strikes him in the neck right where the windpipe is. The dude holds his neck, gasping for breath, and his face turns blue. The whole football team runs away as the foreigners chase after them, and most of them had to be hospitalized after that incident. All the foreigners were either undamaged or had light bruises.

Coach is angry and they're all forbidden to play on the field again until the foreigners give their side of the story, and the two sides never saw each other again over the school year.

*Dad's note:
After High School, all the Thais, Russians, Vietnamese, and South Americans went back to their home countries, except my dad because Cambodia was still in Hell. He has lost contact with them since, and was invited to help run a Tae Kwon Do/Kung Fu/Tai Chi school in Texas, but refused the offer as he had to run a family of his own. He later then worked as an immigration lawyer, helping refugees get into America for a better life.

-Brown Belt in Judo
-Yellow Belt in Karate
-Yellow Belt in Aikido
-Master of Tai Chi
-Interested in Krav Maga, which I'm learning.

So yeah, I have to tell the partial childhood of my Dad, cause he's just so awesome. Razz
