Mandalorian RankI was curious, is it possible to add a Mandalorian rank? With the increase of mando members, this would be an appreciated welcome. Maybe have it or Jango or Boba.
We can also change the Bounty Hunter rank image to that of maybe Zam Wessel.

Yeah. That would be awsome. I was curious to see if I had to be a jedi. If we get Mando ranks it would be so easier to make my profile. I've been a Force-Sensitive ever since the day I joined and I would really like to be a Mandalorian on this site.

Well, no need to get rid of them. Even the ones we rarely see I would rather keep.
Better to keep ourselves with variety. We might have a member later down the line that will want an Assassin rank.
I might need to make a new topic, but can we redo most, if not all, the rank images?

Yeah, those are the only ones that actually can be rid of. Doesn't seem like there is a Rebel Alliance, or Imperials in this universe.

Tomer, I think you need to understand though, that there would only be ONE Mandalorian rank, so it would be like staying on FS, you wouldn't move up. Only Jedi have more than one rank because this is, obviously, a Jedi site.

Maybe there should be some ranks that fit in right?(they're not in order) Hunter, Veteran Mandalorian, medic, etc. But NOT Mandalore. If there was Mandalore then there would only be one.

The major issue with this (besides this being a Jedi site) is then the Sith and Dark Jedi and Grey Jedi and Criminals would ask for multiple ranks - it becomes a major hassle. Not to mention setting up a promotion system for each one to determine when you earn those ranks.
As for removing ranks... I don't really see the point. They're there if people want them and removing the options wouldn't really serve any purpose. There's absolutely nothing preventing someone from creating roleplays in the "real" Star Wars universe, outside of forum canon, and playing Imperials/Rebels.

Which is it gonna be? If it's a Mandalorian one, go for it (I know that you won't). If it's a Bounty Hunter iconm it'll be OK, but still.

Then I have another idea. I don't really want to create a new thread.
Have two ranks for each "other" rank.
Grey Jedi -> Grey Jedi Master
Murderer -> Assassin
Bounty Hunter -> Veteran Hunter
Mandalorian -> Mandalore
Sith -> Sith Emperor/Empress(?)
etc.
It would allow a little upgrade to those who frequently visit but want to be something else. The 2nd rank could also open up areas not accessible for lower ranks(Like Jedi Temple, but not Council for obvious reasons). The reason I ask this, because as is, there really is no upside to going to another rank except alienating yourself from the rest of the community.

I agree, but like I said the only one I can say is justified is taking away is the Rebel and Imperial one as it is basically non-existant to this site.
Lastly I still think the earlier/"other" ranks could use entire make-overs. Some of them just look real out of place.

Only 1 could get certain higher ranks. Like only Saber could get the Sith Emperor rank, and only a certain Madalorian could get a Mandalore rank for this site.

Sounds intresting. This site gets better and better the more I know about it. I think that Lantern should be Mandalore for his supreme knowledge of Mando'a culture XD. No I'm serious.

Lmao, I know. Most other forums made by people here usually fail. Which is why I am trying to get the idea of making this site more versatile. If we could get those other ranks, then we wouldn't need to make a new forum for just Mando's, Grey Jedi, etc.
Most of the time other sites fail is because this site and TDSL is the most visited/used.

Many other sites have been succesful with multiple sides, though Rive and the TDSL staff would like it to remain the way it is.

And that is why they usually last as long, they are versatile. GotF is dying away a bit slowly, but surely it is becoming a bit more inactive than usual. Where are the more active people on GotF going? Usually back to TDSL or TJO.....Only thing keeping GotF pumping is the fresh number of new people. Even then.....
Like I said, I don't want an insane amount of numbers of ranks for the "other" category. I would request atleast a "regular" rank, and a "leader" rank.
I.e. Mandalorian for regular, and Mandalore for the leader. Empress for the leader, and Sith/Sith Lords for the regular ranked ones.
If this site could expand a bit it will be more versatile is all I'm saying. Maybe have a fresh surge of new users.

But still, then Greys and Dark Jedi and whatnot would want to have their own system, and then say the Mandalore for the Mandalorians suddenly says "I want the Mandalorians to have their own forum! And I want to be the Admin of it" And then Greys and everything would demand their own forums, and then they'd all want to become mods and admins of that, it's not worth it.
It is called 'The Jedi Order' for a reason.

That was then this is now, we got three new members on the same day. When I go, I always see like three people logged on. Its way more active than you think. The only problem is that people tend to only post in the RP threads so, that why it seems to be inactive. And its definantly not dying at all.

I'm on GotF.....I didn't think posting was now mandatory, as I read posts.
Anyway the leader type ranks was just an idea. I don't see how you can justify an Empress/Sith Lord rank besides the usual sith, but not others.

Well the rank would serve for people that want to be later down the line. No one is an Imperial or Rebel, but they are still there incase someone wants to be.

That I personally DO agree with, because the larger the community is, the better.
But... Once again the problem comes with how to set up a promotion system for it. If we let the Jedi Council do it, accusations would fly about Rive favoring Imperials over Rebels, or Jawas over Gungans (that one would most likely happen). If we make a self-run system wherein the first person to join a "faction" would be given leadership and the abillity to approve promotions of other members even MORE shouts of leaders playing favorites would fly.
So it's a tough issue to work out. I'm open to suggestions 
In any case, a Mando rank should be in the system... as soon as I get around to finishing it (hopefully tomorrow).

Well I personally see as the ranks for anything other than jedi being less indepth but still allow for a type of "upgrade". Like small baby step ranks, take Dark Jedi for example:
Dark Jedi
Dark Jedi Knight(?)
Dark Jedi Master
For Sith:
Sith
Sith Lord/Lady
Sith Empress/Emperor
etc.
The sections for like "Mandalorian, Sith, Dark Jedi" and stuff would be their domain. They could be given certain mod powers for only their forum. Like Dark Jedi Masters would be able to edit/sticky things ONLY in the Dark Jedi section. Sort of like how I can only mod certain things on GotF.
We wouldn't overly stress their options as this is a primarily jedi orriented site, but we would allow atleast a type of rank system for them. If they wanted to get indepth, then they would have to make their own type of forum that goes more into that aspect of Star Wars.
I would even lend my services to make the rank/rank images if it was deemed time consuming.

I really don't agree with letting every faction have multiple ranks. It breeds confusion and draws away from us as a JEDI forum. IC why would a Jedi Temple allow Sith, Dark Jedi, Scourndrels and Bounty Hunters? So why should we recognise them as an official faction and give them ranks?

I think you're taking this too literal. Why would we have assassins, imperial, rebels, and sith roaming around a jedi temple in the first place?
It is just a forum, and fyi they wouldn't be allowed in the Jedi Temple/Council area. You need to be a Padawan+ to go into the Temple, and Master+ to go nto council. :p
