Limits of the Force

I was just wondering, what stops force users from ripping out or crushing peoples hearts or other vital organs? It would seem that if a master of the force can move a rock so far away that he can barely see it or pick up a ship and can sense things going on inside someones body, grabbing onto a vital organ with the force would be a simple matter.

The Jedi might have hesitations about this, but I would think that the Sith could just walk around and do this easily.

I think it has something to do with the fact that if you can use to force to pull out vital organs you can also use the force to keep others from doing that very thing. If you caught them off gaurd though, I bet you could.
Scion

Using SW logic, that is completely possible, but probably takes more effort than choking someone with the force.

Yeah, if Force-users can Force-crush a person, then I'm sure they could rip organs out of them as well.  Twisted Evil
Lord Vexen

They can't do it because SW movies/games are PG or PG-13...an R-rated SW movie or M-rated game...its entirly possible.
Crozeus

Yep. I wish there was a R/18 SW.
RainaRose

Crozeus how old are you?
Crozeus

Hush. I would watch it anyway Wink
RainaRose

lol Well your too younge. XD oh well I'll lend you mine.
Crozeus

Hurray! Thanks Very Happy
RainaRose

You welcome. Don't tell your mother.
Ga'nen

There is no restriction as far as what the force could do as there's no known boundary to its ability. What has restrictions is the force user themselves and their ability to use it to what capability.

Yes, but it would take less time than force choking. If a master wanted to just kill an apprentice/padawan really quickly, they probably could crush their heart and wouldn't have to worry about a big fight. I don't know if ripping someone's heart out is the most convenient way to kill someone, but it does send a more effective message to everyone else.

And about the violence, they did it in one of the Indiana Jones movies if I remember correctly. Not that that was a very realistic scene (and I'm not just talking about the context of what was going on with the black magic and the fact that he didn't die and all that, I think that there would be a lot more blood), but it was cool.

My answer: It would make lightsaber duels too short.

Yes, I thought that too. If there was some sort of "end all" move, it wouldn't be much fun. I guess that I just have to go around pointing out annoying little flaws in movie concepts. Razz Very nerdy of me. I am not nearly as bad as some people I know though.
Ga'nen

One thing to remember about force users vs force users is that that each has their own mini defenses against the force. Which is why you don't just throw one another around. It's about overwhelming those defenses by being more powerful or doing it unexpectedly in a way they wouldn't have otherwise anticipated.
Jiub

Yes, but especially against padawans, it would be easy to just sneak in a quick "crush the heart" attack. It would only take them a second to do. Masters might be able to keep their defenses up a little longer, but it would take less energy to just crush an apprentice's heart than to go through the whole ordeal of fighting them.

I want to learn how to use to force when no one else can Smile Ho awesome would it be to go around throwing people?

Lord Vexen

Or whatever Nihilus used to drain those planets...thats awesome too.
Crozeus

Stop hyping da hunga Wink
Jiub

Yes, the force does have some powers much more powerful than organ ripping and crushing, but the question is more why there isn't any organ ripping or crushing (aside from the fact that it is a little too violent to still get a PG rating).
Ga'nen

Because it would be much more difficult to use that on a force user. Plus I don't think it was ever said it wasn't possible, but to insure that the books and movies could be rated for a lot of different ages they had to take the safe route.
