Kallibann: A World Without Sin((Dun - dun - DUN. Yes, it's Rive - and he's doing a roleplay!))
Kallibann: a dead world. Various ruins - some still in rather good condition - littered the northern hemisphere, but Kallibann had been void of sentient life since at least the founding of the Old Republic. A place of little - or no - significance. Placed roughly between Dantooine and Belkadan it was not along any trade route and was too far out of the way even for smugglers. Nearly untouched by the galaxy at large, Kallibann was little more than a footnote in the Galactic Hyperspace Registry.
... Until now.
A massive disturbance in the force had been felt as a ripple across the half the galaxy. Many Jedi, scientists, researchers, adventurers, criminals, media outlets, and others had all been dispatched to see for themselves what had happened in what was suddenly the most talked about corner of the Outer Rim. Rive Caedo - a Jedi, recently promoted to Master, hair only beginning to gray - had been conducting a survey mission on the nearby planet of Dantooine, was the first Jedi to arrive... It wasn't there. Or rather, it WAS there, it showed up on scanners and to his own eyes, but it didn't FEEL there. Kallibann was now a blank spot in the force. Not so much a hole, or a rift, just... not there at all. It felt like... space.
Setting down in his Z-95 Headhunter, near a large dome-shaped ruin, Rive immediately sensed it was worse than he feared, because he couldn't sense anything. For the first time in nearly 3 decades, Rive felt what it was like to be without the Force to guide him. Briefly considering taking back off and heading back to the safety of --- anywhere. Rive sighed, opened his cockpit and hopped out. He activated his lightsaber and took a few practice swings - it felt clumsy, unwieldy, foreign - without the Force to assist him. With a sigh he began unpacking a survival tent and strapped his nearly 3 decade old Bryar blaster pistol to his belt.
((Welcome to Kallibann! A world without the Force! Should place some nice little twists on character play - eh?
Although I'm not a follower of forum canon, based on the Jedi Timeline... this would take place about 17 BBY, 4 or 5 years before Abba formed the "modern" Jedi Council. But feel free to ignore that and use whatever character you feel comfortable with.
Three quick rules before you join:
You may only post once per day. So make it count!
Place out-of-character text in Cyan (like I am here)
This is seriously a world without the Force! Period. You can't pull any Yuuzhan Vong style tricks by "feeling the lack of feeling". It's all empty!))

Nova Sky, a notable space pirate, had been running underground gambling rings and illegal alien fights on a few different worlds. From doing spice trades to looting ruins of crashed ships. If Nova could make a profit of it, he did it. It was on Boz Pity when he first heard about it.
"Place your bets! Fight starts in five!" A broker yelled to late comers to the small arena like setting that stood inside of the old CIS medical facility. Nova had broke in on his third trip to Boz Pity and now frequently made the journey inside to set up his 'fight clubs.'
"Betting is over." Nova whispered in the man's ear. He understood and closed out the last bet. Nova went and stood at the entrance that was now closing up so the fight could begin.
Three men casually talking came walking up to the entrance. One laughed at the others joke about Feeorins when they reached Nova.
"Sorry guys you're too late. Fight just began. Policy is you have to be in before the bell rings." He said cooly to men. They rolled their eyes and turned away.
"This place was getting old anyway. Maybe we should check out that 'dead world' Tish was talking about." The others gave a inquesitive look. "You know the one he was talking about that all the Jedi are getting worked up about?" They both half nodded. But Nova was the one who's attention he caught the most.
"Gentlemen!" He called out to them before he was out of ear shot. They all spun on the spot. "What was it you were just saying?" The man hesitated at first.
"N-nothing." Nova nodded slowly. He had his shots off before they even unholstered their blasters. Deaths were uncommon around these parts. Especially with Nova running things. The bodies weren't well hidden but they didn't need to be. He quickly sent a message to the broker's datapad as he was running to his ship.
If I don't get my cut wired to my account I will find you and you will die.
Now all he had to do was find a dead planet. Shouldn't be too hard.

Lord Lanik

Lanik muttered the dakrest oath he could think of as the Nhar'qual jumpped into the system of Kallibann. Kallibann, he had never heard of the planet untill the Great Disturbance as the media called it. Millions of people were rushing towards it trying to be the first to discover what "has the Jedi scared." He tried to use the Force as little as possible these days after he had let it go as an assassin, but he couldn't miss this. The planet was there to his eyes and scanners, but invisible in the Force. It wasn't like the Ysalamir but making a hole, it was just not there. He hesitantly steered towards the planet with a feeling of finalty.

Ur sat in The cockpit of the small ship. His arms crossed and his eyes closed. His white suit Shone in the little light that was there. shifting his position only slightly, he winced as pain shot up his spine.
Hopefully this place can help. An empty area, someplace that won't hurt. To good to be true, but he had to find out. He spoke to a Jedi not to long ago, No force he said to himself. I wonder what i would be like.
The small one man ship came out of hyperspace and into the orbit of Kalliban. Ur's Brilliant blue eyes opened slowly as he scanned the outside area.
"There is a planet there. Whats this about being nothing?" Ur said under his breath. "This is going to be a was of time"
But even saying those words, he descended into the atmosphere of the planet.

(Perhaps this could be made canon?)
The Galactic Security Organization, also known as G.S.C. was on the outside, a major Private Military Company, one of the most top rated. Outside its facade though, it had tabs with the Sith Order. Its technology supply ran through the Sith's small hyper lanes, and mutual distribution of rumors, small reports, and anything new in the underground world.
It was not intill Anakin, aka Lord Revenous of the Sith Order had sent out a under the table hire of the G.S.C's expertise. This was the first ever hiring of the the Organization's men by the one of the Sith members. However, he did have good intentions with these actions.
He had recently heard of a strange planet with some odd force disturbances, though not known to other members of the Sith Council, Anakin dispatched a group of G.S.C. mercenaries to the planet...

Dakoth
|
Dakoth let out a half sigh as his boots once more brushed with the coarse soil of the damned world known as Kallibann. He had entered what one could loosely refer to as the mainstreet of the ramshackle assortment of tents, huts, and shacks that made up this "Town". It was one of numerous such small camps that had sprung up on Kallibann recently, inhabited by vermin, mercinaries and scientists alike with the sole purpose of finding out what exactly was going on upon this dead world.
Wisely steering clear of a group of suspicious looking characters, Dakoth departed the outskirts of the so called settlement, pulling his newly adopted flak jacket close to his chest as he set off towards a cluster of rather interesting looking ruins that appeared to be untouched for millenia.

I'm assuming Kallibann's similarity to the word Taliban is a coincidence?
Xander Vos set down in his craft. His eyes, older than their years, surveyed the landscape as he slowly rose to his feet. Over the past few years many events had shaped his life. Only a few years ago he had left his home for good. Having never seen the wider Galaxy before, everything before him amazed him, but also repulsed him slightly.
Xander now felt much older - but not wiser, despite many believing the two ran hand in hand - as a result. Not only did he feel older, but exhausted as well. He longed to rest, to sleep peacefully once more. Since leaving home, he had been attacked night after night by nightmares that would not believe him. He thought it could perhaps be the result of his most recent implants, his left arm, but that didn't make any sense.
He had been told of this planet before he had left his home, and knew that the time was right for him to enter the larger Galaxy, to meet and interact with others, perhaps even the Jedi.
He knew what he had to do, he had been told time and time again, and so, Xander Vos stepped off the ramp of his craft, and onto the world of Kalibann.

"A world that wasn't there, a world that was without being, a world that deemed the powerful weak, the wise unknowledgeable." came Apollos voice the camera infront of him recording his every word as he spoke seemingness to himself. He had been one of the few Jedi to come to this planet, though he wasn't the first to arrive, but he did want to document his findings for the archives. "Now if we look here at a demonstration of what its like to be without force you will see our greatest gift, has become our most dreaded enemy on this planet, we have become so accustomed to the force that without it we are merely like an artist gone blind, a musician gone deaf, a leader without its people, we lose a piece of ourselves, which brings me to my other point, what is life like without the force?" he said reaching down to his belt unclipping his light saber, activating it its emerald glow cast an unearthly green upon his face as he swung it around, "You see, the light saber to a specimen without the force is an unwieldy object because it has no weight on the blade, its like being in space without gravity, its more dangerous to us now on this planet, so before any others arrive i recommend bring another weapon with a tad bit weight on the blade to help wield it." he finished off before deactivating his light saber it whisped out of existence as he clipped it back to his belt before wondering back to the camera and deactivating it, any other planet would of allowed him to use the force to switch it off, though this force forsaken one wouldn't.
Stepping through the gap in his tent he looked around, the air whipping his cape around him almost dragging him along like one would walk there pet, his body shivering as a tingling went down his spine as the hairs upon his hand stood up, hanging onto the warm air that had befallen him within the tent, sometimes this planet was hotter then that of volcanoes of Mustafar, sometimes colder then the snowy fields of Hoth, sept on those planets he could use the force to warm him, or to cool him, yet here, he couldn't, he hated it, but sometimes it was nice to see the sun set, with the force he could never relise the natural beauty of things, seeing something for what it was, was the way of the force, not what it appeared to be.

Yes, the similarity to Taliban is entirely coincidental. I actually drew the name from Caliban (the character, not the moon).
As for it being canon, Anakin, I don't really care if it is or isn't. I'd prefer that it is, actually. I just roleplay so infrequently I'm a bit scared of messing up since I don't know your characters very well - or the forum history, heh.
Rive was finishing up his report on his 6th day on Kallibann, scribbled down on pages torn from the back of his flight log. One of many unforeseen consequences of being without the force was his inability to activate his Jedi provided data recorder - because it required a slight nudge through the Force to activate it. One of several annoyances, but not worth the nearly 10 day roundtrip it would take - at the minimum, to reach Coruscant and return to Kallibann with more suitable equipment.
"... R1X-E0 continues to prove an invaluable asset to me. It took a bit of doing, but I've wired him into my fighter's sensor grid and given him control of a turret I've rigged up to the nosecone. It's been quite effective at keeping away wildlife and scavenger alike.
More and more ships are arriving every day - every hour. I have hopes that the... disturbance... was not caused by any of the ruins here, because my sweep today revealed that a majority of them have already been plundered or even destroyed. Indeed, even in the brief period I was in the air, no less than 15 scavengers had infiltrated the ruins I've been camping by. I believe I drove them out before any real damage was done.
As for the ruins themselves, based on my initial observations, I..."
Rive stopped his writing as R1X-E0 let off a short whistle.
"How many this time Eezee?"
E0 responded with a short blip
"Just one?" Rive said, mostly to himself, as he stared off towards the recently erected shanty town to the east.

Vash Cornipus, squad leader and strategic coordinator of the Galactic Security Orginization dispatch investigation team was the last to step out of the armed corellian corvette and onto the rough soil. Rocky, and sandy. Not a good sign. However, he stood silent as he silent.
"I guess were not the first ones here." Said Vin, the lead geologist on the team. He stood out from the rest of the team by wearing a dusty white lab coat compared to the other members of the team who wore military fatigues. He stood kneeling feeling the soil beneath his hands.
"Of course not, this was expected." Replied Lore, a brutal-looking trandoshan, who was the Support Gunnery, he lugged a heavy repeating rifle on his shoulder. His reptilian eyes staring at other travelers who had come, some who were around their shantys.
Finally the last of the team, a female human, was the Force expert and Sith advisor. On her hip, she carried a lightsaber. She had went around the shanty town to question the locales and other people who had came.

Butler_Swan

Butler had dropped out of hyperspace above the mysterious and now buzzing world of Kallibann. Butler didn't know much about the planet and usually such a factor would make him scurry on back to the Jedi Temple but once in a while, he needed a little adventure. From the reports he was hearing on the holonet, it appeared that the world was completely force-void. At first, he had dismissed the thought. Who ever heard of such a thing where the force didn't exist, but more and more reports came out with the same information and Butler had eventually started to believe them. A talented practicioner in telekinesis lightsaber combat, he would be at a disadvantage should the need for lightsaber combat arise since he could no longer wield them using his mind. Then again, wielding a saber without the force was probably a foolish thing to do anyway.
Butler looked at the planet from space and tried to pick an ideal spot to land as he got closer to the planet. The more altitude he dropped, the more if became clear that the reports were correct and he indeed could not feel the force on the forsaken planet. He was curious as to the cause though he suspected there was some conspiracy or treachery involved somehow, though once the smoked cleared, it seemed at one point or another, he had suspected almost everything.
Butler himself had slowly started to rely more on technology over the years over the force or the lightsaber with the exception of a few special and sometimes contreversial techniques he employed such as emerald lightning. By this day and age, Butler was a walking arsenal, he got his weapons and explosives from the black market of coruscant though he occasionally took a short trip to the army surplus stores to pick up a few legal items. Butler wore spidersilk armor underneath his phrik laced tunic which had set him back a few hundred thousand credits though for him, it gave him a bit of security. In addition to the armor, he also had a small personal deflector shield located on his belt which was cleverly disguised as a large pouch and a few spare battery packs which was located in the pouch on the other side. All throughout his person, he had numerous sheaths for his vibro-blades and even employed a long vibro-sword which was carried on his back. Originally, Butler had carried grenades but later learned that making yourself a walking explosive target wasn't always such a great idea. Eventually, he switched out to carrying two WESTAR pistols and kept a FN-SCAR heavy rifle as well as a M82 Barrett Sniper rifle which were both located in concealed compartments located in his star fighter.
Butler skimmed over the planets surface and made a note of the jungle terrain as well as the numerous ruins located at seemingly random locations throughout the planet and the eerie temperature changes which were noted by the fog and condensation that formed on his cockpit. Butler hadn't thought of taking a droid though he did contact a few old friends, Mach, Araina, and Crystal though they were probably on some sort hunting job. The three of them had started a merc/hunting guild which had aqquired a few members over the years as news of thier exploits traveled through the holonet. They selectively took thier jobs much to the surprise of the customers and refused any job they considered, morally wrong. The first person to threaten them to do the job dissappeared. No one argued with them after that again.
Butler finally found what seemed to be a suitable place to land. For a jungle world, it seemed quite surprising that he would find a dry, sun baked path of mud on the planet but he did and he planned on taking advantage of it. Next to the large clearing was a cliff that protruded outwards. This would provide him protection from above and from his six should the need arise. As Butler touched down, he seemed to notice animals watching him. It was too bad he couldn't use the force or he could have tired animal friendship on them. Butler thought. Butler climbed out of his cockpit and the first thing he noticed was the dampness and humidity of the planet. It was extremely hot and...well...muggy. Almost like someone had put a wet, fur blanket all over you.
Due to the nature of the planet, Butler could not sense what was around him so he took the precaution of setting up a few traps. He had not thought of bringing auto-turrets and wished he had but it was not worth a trip back to Bakura or Coruscant to gather his supplies. Butler decided that snares and pits would probably provide the best defense against animals so as a result, Butler put his years of Jedi training and discipline to good use and began to dig a large trench around the preimeter of his encampment. Without the aid of the force, Butler began to tire easily and in frustration, threw a vibro-blade at the dirt. Interestingly enough, the sand yelped and scurried away. What?! Sand that lives. Aw S***. Butler thought. This is going to be one heck of a ride.

"They're...they're on the datapad." The man choked out before Nova released him from his grasp. Nova slowly walked over to the datapad lying on the table. He scanned it for the location of the "dead planet" he was looking for. Turns out it was called Kallibann.
"Thanks." Nova said with a sly grin as he walked out of the room with the datapad. He tossed something over his shoulder as he left. The man on the floor flinched in fear of a thermal detonator. A single credit laid to rest on the cold floor.
He walked to his ship The Black Spice with his eyes still glued to the datapad. Strange he hadn't heard of this planet before now. But there's a first time for everything.
Once Nova was safely back in his cockpit he loaded the coordinates into his Navicomputer. He had a small journey ahead of him but this "dead planet" was worth the wait. The ship lifted off and was in hyperspace in no time.

Dakoth
|
Dakoth swore silently to himself as his eyes picked up on what appeared to be a figure crouched in the distance, silhoutted by the harsh glare of Kallibann's sunlight cast over the sandy wasteland.
"Looter."
Perhaps the ruins weren't as untouched as he had previously suspected. He had seen such instances before, archaeolgical discoveries are made on planets, only to be destroyed within weeks by greedy merchants and smugglers. Remembering that such people were often prone to outbursts of violence, Dakoth's hand fell discreetly down to his saber, which was currently disguised as a glow rod.
Only then did he realize his potentially fatal mistake. his saber was of no use to him here, he would be better off trying to deflect blaster shots with his forehead. With that discovery under his belt, he reached further back on his utility harness, delicately unholstering a small blaster pistol, a weapon far more suitable for his use.

Yikes, didn't see the date Rive put on this. For me this is set late 30s ABY.
Xander stepped into the small makeshift town that was serving as the base camp for several journalists clamouring about, hoping to strike it rich and come up with the best story they could about this mysterious world. A wry smile hovered on Xander's lips. The irony that this world had been in their Galaxy for hundreds of thousands of years, and had never raised an eyebrow, but that now it did, for all the wrong reasons, wasn't lost on Xander.
Stooping to pitch his small tent, Xander breathed a sigh of contentment. Whilst the convenience of the Galaxy he lived in wasn't lost on him, it was always nice to re-connect with nature, to take some time out and do work by hand. Machinery almost disgusted him with the way it had made people so lazy.
After ten minutes, the tent had been pitched, and Xander stepped back, swiping drops of sweat clustering on his brow. Turning to survey the others gathered around him in their clusters, he couldn't help but feel pity for them. Many looked as if they had pitched all the money they had for one joy ride to this pure, virginal world, others looked as if they were bored out of their minds, unable to value the pristine environment around them, and yet others looked as if they were hoping to take advantage of those with weaker minds than their own. Most definately bounty hunters or mercs, Xander decided. Best steer clear of them, or encounter them at his own peril.
Gazing up at the sun, and picking that there were only a few hours of sunlight left at best - Xander had opted not to bring any mechanical object with him. It wouldn't be nessescary for what he planned.

Lord Lanik
|
Lanik sat in his ship a few kilometers north of the ruins. He hadn't bothered to make a camp, his ship worked better and he didn't have to worry about the local wildlife either. He kept a steady eye on his scanners tracking the ships that came towards the planet. The before deserted planet now had a population of well over a ten million people in the week and a half since the "Great Disturbance."
There were few Jedi on the planet, no supprise due the the loss of the Force. And Lanik was perfectly happy without it. He oly used itwhen he had to now and had trained without. This gave him an advantage over the other Force Users on the planet. His LD-1 target blaster rifle was in it's holster on his back, his vibrostaff, hidden in his sleeve as usal, and his two Verpine Pistols were slung from his belt. Normal weapons were a lot more effecent than a lightsaber anyways, but here they had hundreds more advantages.
Lanik had visited the settlements a few times and found quite a few people that he knew from his Bouty Hunting days abd a few other Sith. He now had contacts in all the major settlements. Twenty kilometers to the east the newly dubbed "captial" of Kallibann stood it was the only settlement on the planet with any buildings at all. It was also where the rich adventures and buisnessmen were going. And there was a camp three kilometers to the west of him with one sole occupant. Lanik hadn't really paid that much attention to it thought. His main focus was on the ruins.

The craft hovered gently above the ground, Dust being kicked into the air as the jets pointed down. slowly but surly the raft lighted on the surface. With a hiss the cockpit opened and a large figure hopped out.
Something seemed to change as Ur entered the atmosphere around the planet. Ur knew what the force was though he could not sense it. He knew that this planet seemed to be without this all knowing power.
Ur hopped out of the craft and his feet landed heavily on the coarse earth. Nothing. Ur tapped his foot on the ground a few times, nothing. Normally these little movement sent pain coursing through him, but this planet, devoid of the force, seemed to be different.
Shock grew in him, was he free here. He ran his hand up and down his arm, nothing. He felt the rest of his body, no pain at all. Ur seemed overjoyed at the prospect of painlessness. One last test to fill. Ur opened a side compartment of the ship and took out a blaster. He pointed it directly at his chest and fired. The heat from the discharge burned a hole in his shirt, but other then that his body was unharmed.
"Wonderful" Ur whispered "Completely wonderful"
Ur removed the ruined shirt as well as the pants. He stripped naked and went to cargo compartment of the small ship. Taking out a matching set of clothes, this time pitch black, he dressed. Reaching in again he took out a Vibro-Chokuto, a favorite of his, He strapped the sword to his back.
Dressed in Black with a sword strapped to his back, he climbed back in to the ship. he smiled at the sensation of feeling nothing as he did this minor task. He looked at the long range sensors of the ship. They said there was a familiar ship close by. Ur smiled as he waited for night to descend, he would go and meet his old acquaintance in a short while.
Ur looked over at the horizon, the sun was almost down. Night would soon be upon them.

Vash led his team of Galactic paramilitary men, and scientest through the small encampment-like city. People were bustling through the "streets" created by the tents and landed ships.
The Squad member avoided the glances of other locales and travelers who were looking in awe of the raw-military gear his team carried with them.
"Where is Lena?" He asked Lore while walking, the support-gunner trandoshan. Who just shrugged.
"Well she did give a report to go near sometime of Ruins structure on the outside of this large encampment." Vin said, the scientest running a hand through his thin hair. The man had small combat experience and had to rely on his teammates for support.
"Alright, we'll head there, thats what the 'reddies' want." Vash said, using the code name for their employer.

The alarm shook Nova from his sleep in the cockpit chair. That sound meant he was to be exitting hyperspace soon. He rubbed his eyes so he could focus on the switch between auto pilot and manual. Soon the blur of stars all came into their precise spots in the skys.
There it was. Kalliban, in all it's glory. Nova could spot a few other ships slowly decending into the planet's atmosphere. He couldn't see why this planet was being called "dead" by so many. His answers lied on the surface. So the ship began it's decent to the "dead world" of Kalliban.

Rive Caedo
|
If you didn't catch it on the Roleplaying Discussion forum, major events are going to be set into motion most likely on Tuesday night. So you have until then to explore Kallibann on your own
Rive used a pair of electro-binoculars to try to identify the figure moving towards his camp, but it was still far too far out of range to see anything more than the fact that it most likely was a he.
"Picking up anything on the scanner yet Eezee?"
The droid let off a series of whistles
"Yes, I was able to see it was humanoid for myself, anything else?"
R1X-E0 began listing off technical details about the far off humanoid - approximate mass, estimated height, speed, direction, estimated arrival time - nothing of any particular interest. Rive stopped listening and picked up his comlink.
"Skod, you there? This is Rive Caedo, I left a sam---"
The comlink crackled and began playing a song - something by Evar Orbus. In the background was the distinct sound of a Rodian attempting to sound tough - and doing a particularly bad job at it.
"Get away! Get away! If you needed a scomp link for your research you should have brought your own! Get away!" the Rodian, Skod, shouted in basic, but with a distinct Rodese accent. A few moments later he picked up his own comlink - "My apologies Master Caedo, you'd think half of these so called scientists had never done any research in the field before!"
Rive's immediate thought was that probably more than half of the "scientists" here had never done any research at all, but he kept it to himself. Skod wasn't quite an old friend, but Rive trusted him - so it was a blessing that the Rodian archaeologist had come to Kallibann. It saved him the trouble of trying to find a trustworthy researcher - which would have been an easy task IF he could sense people's emotions here, which he couldn't.
"Well if you'd just accept my offer to move your camp out here you wouldn't have any prob---" Rive cut it short, he knew the Rodian would just reply with the same thing he had been all week ("No, no, no! My equipment is too delicate!" or "No! How would I find a market for my work?" or "I'm in the middle of a critical test!"), so he cut to the point "Skod, have you finished the tests on that sample from the ruins I gave you?"
"Oh yes," the Rodian replied - music still playing in the background - "this morning, in fact, but I didn't want to contact you until I had double-checked the findings..." - a lie, most likely, Rive thought, but a harmless one - "it's by far the best one I've seen so far! I thank you for the opportunity to --"
"The results, Skod?"
"What? Oh, yes! Well it's mostly generic construction materials that could be found anywhere in the galaxy - except - on a deeper analysis I found Pacathium alloy running through nearly the entire artifact! Spectacular really, since I've never seen that material used outside of..."
Rive dropped the comlink and reached for his blaster as he realized that the little speck of a humanoid on the horizon had gotten a lot closer during his conversation with Skod.

Dakoth
|
Dakoth's hold on his blaster pistol had tightened to a deathgrip as he had advanced closer to the camp, and it was only then that he realized just how absoultely terrified he was. Without the force he was as good off in combat as a giddy coruscanti socialite. Yet being so close to danger, totally defenseless gave him such a rush of exhilaration that the Jedi had to fight back the urge to grin maniacally.
Trying to bring his Jedi training to mind, Dakoth inhaled deeply, outstretching the blaster in his quivering arm. His heartbeat thudded loudly in his chest as he opened his mouth, summoning forth every ounce of courage he had to adress the stranger.
"Ok now, Friend. I'm going to need you to drop your weapon and get on the ground. I know how to use this and don't think I wont." The Jedi commanded, doing his best to project an image as a hardened mercenary, although he wasn't sure he was too convincing.
Adrenaline coursed through his veins as his muscles tightened, focusing the crosshairs of the pistol over the man's obscured face.
"Lets go, I mean buisness."

Xander Vos
|
Xander set off at a brisk pace into the surrounding wilderness, intent on learning the surrounding area.
After only a few minutes, he spotted something on the horizon, jutting out against the landscape, they must have been ruins of some former civilisation. Xander shook his head in amusement. Every planet in this sector seemed to have ancient civilisations with dreams of scraping the stars with their buildings.
Turning his slow trot into a sprint, Xander made his way towards the ruins, intent on making them with time to spare before nightfall. Stopping occasionally to catch his breath - despite the fact that he was exceptionally fit - and to drink from streams he could find and determine were safe to drink from, Xander finally reached a large clearing. And by large, this was giant. Xander stood on one side, the lush, thick jungle behind him, and more than five kilometres in front of him, the jungle stood facing him.
In between, was what looked like a scene from a holo-drama. A tent had been pitched, and a man, his face shrouded in shadows, stood nearby facing a figure in the distance, further away from Xander than the mysterious man. This man - and Xander squinted to try to make out his face, to no avail - held a blaster, and seemed to be shouting something to the other man.
Trouble, Xander decided, and unconciously reached to his side for his usual weapon, before realising - rather despondantly - that he wasn't carrying it. Reaching around instead for his blaster, something Xander had only learnt to use recently, specifically for coming here, Xander drew it, easing off the safety in case any trouble ensued.

Vash and his small investigation team of Galactic Security mercs was out of the huge encapment now, and was not surprised to find what he was to believe was a large ruin. Cradle into the side of a rock overface, it looked like a temple but from a quick glance, he could find no entrance.
"Vin, I want you to get to work on those support pillars. See when they were made, and get a basic analysis of it. If you need to go to the ship for better tools, do so by your own will." The squad commander said to the scientest who nodded obediantly and headed near the ruin, where dozens and dozens of other scientests, spectators and---robed species were scurrying around, basking in the ruin's mystery.
Vash then turned to Lore, the burly trandoshan was carrying his heavy repeating blaster rifle on his shoulder with no sign of letting up from is obvious weight of the weapon. This was his back-up. All he needed. Vash adjusted his black flak vest that bore the insignia of the Galactic Security Orginization: Two blasters crossed in front of a planet.
"Lore, I want you to scout the area for now, make sure theres nothing suspious going on around here, anything that might interfere with our work. Be discreet." Vash said, he then took out his commpad as Lore did what he was told and walked away.
The squad commander put in a set of comm frequencies and awaited its answer. It was not long before a silky, female voice picked up.
"This is Lena." Said the voice.
"Lena, have you talked to the locals?" Vash asked his force expert.
"Yes, they seemed to be as oblivious to the situation as us. My force senses are nothing here, like I don't even have them. Orders sir?" She asked, her voice distinctfully worried, but headstrong.
"Come over to the main ruin. I may have a job for you here."

Shin had heard of this planet in his travels. It is divoid of something both the Jedi and Sith need to survive, the Force. That made things so much easier. No peky Jedi hampering his progress on this planet.
Shin sped up his speeder until he found Vash. He parked his speeder and walked out to her. "Hello Vash, I was hired by the Sith Lord, Darth Revenous to help you guys out. Mostly protection and stuff, you know the drill. So then, what do you want me to do?"

Dusk descended over the planet painting the sky the color of dried blood. Ur opened his eyes and smiled.
The cockpit opened and Ur jumped out. He landed on the ground and rolled out of the fall. He stood smiling at the sensation of nothingness. Ur started to run, he wanted to reach his destination before it became completely dark. Smiling to himself as his body made movements that would cause pain to shoot up an down his spine, but on this planet he was free. His feet slammed the ground, causing dust to be kicked up into the air as he ran.
After a few minutes of running he dived into the brush. Using it as cover he crawled around on the ground, staying out of sight. He lifted his head slightly as to see over the brush and at the cliff where 2 figures stood in front of a large ship. One tall and one short humanoid figures stood and seemed to look at the now darkening sky.
Ur Crawled forward a little bit as to hear what they were saying.
"I dont like it here. It feels wrong, It feels bad. But it feels relaxing, so i guess i do like it" A young voice said.
"Well, it is quiet." A familiar voice said
Ur moved in closed. Just close enough to distinguish that the tall one was a man around his twenties and the small one was a young girl. The girl was holding onto the man's hand.
"Its getting dark. Do you want to go inside?" The man said
"Yeah" The girl said
"Ok, up you go" The man said as he lifted the girl off the ground and placed her on his shoulders. He turned back to the ship and walked towards it.
Ur took a slight step forward. He placed his knee down on the ground. SNAP, a twig cracked in half. Ur looked down at the ground, then lifted his head to keep an eye on the 2. The girl was gone. It took a few seconds for the image to register in Ur's mind. Suddenly his mind snapped back when he felt cold metal touch the skin of his neck.
"Daddy, you were right." the girl shout "There was someone here!"
"Daddy?" Ur said "Didn't know he had a daughter."
The man walked towards them and lent down far enough for Ur to see his face.
"Ur?" Jynzo said "Well what a surprise."
"Look how's talking" Ur laughed "Your not the one with a child holding a knife to your throat"
"Well i guess you have a point there" Jynzo said "its ok Ruby, he's a friend"
Jynzo watched as Ur stood, a feint smile played across his face.
"Your happy about something. What is it" Jynzo asked as they waled back to the ship.
"What, how did you know?" Ur asked
"Well, just because there is no force here does not mean I cant sense emotion. I dont need the force for that" Jynzo said
"Oh, yeah. Well, im not in pain here" Ur said happily
Jynzo paused for just a moment. Just the slightest pause, but it was there.
"Thats....Interesting" Jynzo said.

Butler had been startled and surprised by the moving and seemingly alive sand and decided that somethign this rare deserved a throurough investigation. Butler left a holorecording within his starfighter to activate within a 72 hour period. By then, if he had not yet returned, the recording would be sent to anyone within a eight mile premises as well as being sent to Antma, Araina, Cyrstal, and Mach. After having done that, Butler locked his starfighter and then packed his gear and headed off into the dark part of the jungle. Here, Butler began to pick up the sense that something wasn't right, obviously since the force was absent on this world, it was his gut feeling, and usually that was just as accurate.
Moments later, Butler was proved right after he tripped over a log that appeared out of nowhere but was then caught by a tree that bent down to make sure he didn't touch the ground. Butler tried to move but realized that he was being pinned down by what appeared to be a rock in human form as a living vine it seemed tied itself around Butler effectively making a rope. After he had been tied up and strapped to a large log, the other forms, the tree, the rock morphed into average sized humanoids with red skin and blue eyes. Around him, the ground, bushes, and even a few boulders morphed into a redish substance until it was clear that they too were of the same species as the ones that had just captured him...

"Ok now, Friend. I'm going to need you to drop your weapon and get on the ground. I know how to use this and don't think I won't." the figure, plainly shaking slightly, stated from a number of meters in front of Rive.
"That's fine. Easy does it." - the man was a fool - or a beginner. Had he honestly walked all the way from the distant camp and not bothered to walk a few extra meters to the left or right so that he wouldn't be starting directly into Kallibann's sun? While thinking this, Rive twirled his blaster and dropped it to the ground.
"See? Just take it easy... and... ah..." Rive shifted his weight from foot to foot. Skod could still be heard over the comlink on the ground, "What's going on!? Do you want this sample report or not?!"
"Just.. take... it... easy. Easy, easy, EEZEE!"
Rive dived to the ground as the droid finally let out a sharp trill of acknowledgment, "SHOOT!"
The jury-rigged turret on the nose of Rive's Z-95 immediately sprang to life - guided by R1X-E0 - and fired off a single shot. It hit the aggressor's pistol directly. It spun out of his hand - possibly damaged beyond repair - and landed in the grass a few meters away.
Rive grinned, "nice shot Eezee! Now...", Rive fumbled about for his own blaster - now also lost in the nearly half meter high grass below him. Caught in the moment - forgetting about the hapless "mercenary" - he stooped down and began searching for it.
((Dakoth may be a lousy shot - Rive may be 20 years out of practice - but a good astromech droid can shoot a womp rat between the eyes at 30 meters, while computing a Hyperspace jump across the galaxy. Good thing Rive instructed Eezee specifically to not kill any of the ruin robbers - just try to scare them off ))

Dakoth
|
All Dakoth's exhiliration had vanished, his basic survival instincts kicking in as the blaster was torn from his hand, leaving him defensless in the face of an AI manned autoturret. Naturally, his hand shot to his waist, flicking the harness strap of his lightsaber off, allowing the device to begin to fall from his utility belt. Immediately he envisioned his lightsaber, compelling it to come to him as he had done so many times before; to feel the cold metal of the saber snap cleanly into his palm. Yet nothing happened, the metal rod clattering into a knot of grass, the Force void that was Kallibann once more robbing him of his defenses.
Precious seconds rushed by as his mind whirred, contemplating means for survival as his opponent fumbled for something in the tall grass that grew abundantly across the area. Nothing came to mind, the Jedi was out of weapons. But perhaps not out of tricks he realized. It was a risk, but it seemed to be his only option
Jamming his arm in his flak vest's pocket, Dakoth balled his hand up into a fist, making a visible bulge.
"STOP!" He yelled at the man, sounding as derranged as possible. "I've got a class A thermal detonator in my pocket, and I'm not afraid to use it. Call your robot off or we both die." He ordered, making the bulge of his empty fist more distinct, and hopefully detonator shaped.
(( Hm.. Dakoth dosen't really hold up too well in combat without the force. Poor guy. ))

Captain Vash eyed the dark figure that had just mysteriously told them of their employer's hiring and unknown allying.
"I didn't know of this," Vash said, folding his arms, feeling a small wind pick up on his left side, a haze of dust skimming his face. How he hated planets like this and assignments like these.
"Yes, well I was just informed. What is your name?" The dark figure asked, he looked capable of holding his own in a fight.
Vash hesitated, but took out his Galactic Security identification card from one of the pockets that littered his flak kelvar military vest. He flashed it, and the man read it quickly.
"Ah, the G.S.O? I've heard of your company." He said in response to the I.D.
"I'm sure," Vash said without emotion. He wasen't here for small talk. "And yours?"
"Just call me Shin I--" He replied but was cut off by the sound of the sharp hissing of blaster fire just meters away from their position. The squad commander spun, and Shin reacted instantly, each of them grappling out their weapons and pointing it in the direction of the noise.
Vash saw what the problem was. A droid had apparently shot a defense bolt at a unidentifible figure in the distance. He lowered his combat blaster pistol from his shoulder length position.
"Its nothing, just a dispute." Vash said to Shin, and it wasen't long before Lena, one of his teammates, came over in a kind of what-happened-look. Vash just shook his head in assurance of everything was fine...for now. Spectators were looking at the situation, some however didn't care and kept working on the ruins.

Shin put away his blasters and turned to look at the droid. He wasn't to fond of them, in fact he only used them to clean his ship and other trival duties. He never understood how people to get so attached to them. Shin decided he was going to go look over at the ruins the workers where excavating. He kept his blasters ready in case some spectators, or something, decided to crash the party.

Nova guided his ship over small shoddy towns as he passed over the land of Kallibann. He could see plenty of others setting up around their own campsite. A small patch of open grassland would do as Nova's landing pad. The grass underneath The Black Spice went flying about as the ship slowly laid to rest. He shut the ship down and laid some basic sercurity on the ship. He was sure he wasn't the only criminal here. Before he left Nova was sure to grab his blasters.

(( Rive was digging in the dirt when you tried to draw out your lightsaber - so he's still not aware Dakoth has Jedi ties ))
"STOP!" the man yelled, sounding somewhat deranged. "I've got a class A thermal detonator in my pocket, and I'm not afraid to use it. Call your robot off or we both die." He ordered, with his hand tucked within his jacket - presumably holding a thermal detonator.
"Wha?" was all Rive could blurt out as he stood up from digging around in the grass for his blaster.
Eezee twitted off a short - somewhat mocking whistle.
Rive smirked and knelt back down, "Did you honestly just attempt to bluff your way into making me shut down a "robot" tied into a starfighter-grade sensor grid? Thermal detonators require a Baradium core - it's what makes them go BOOM! Eezee says that - using the aforementioned starfighter-grade sensor grid - he's not detecting any Baradium within 50 meters of us."
Rive stuck his head back down and continued feeling for his blaster, stating with a degree of calmness, "now I'm sorry about your gun, but head along back into town - I - and my droid - are not leaving here until..." he was interrupted by the still active comlink lying somewhere off to his left where a rather annoyed sounding archaeologist was shouting in Rodian, "Sorry, Skod, I'll talk to you in a minute - need to find my blaster first..."

Dakoth
|
Dakoth, now feeling more than slightly embarassed, let his hands fall to his sides in defeat, shooting a look of contempt at the droid as he dropped to his knees, picking up his saber and reclipping it to his belt as discreetly as possible. Standing back up, he raised his hand to his forehead to shield his eyes from the sun, surveying the immediate area. No cover at all. If he decided to just turn around it wouldn't take more than half a second for the looter's astromech droid to put a hole in his back.
Although, from what Dakoth had gauged, he wansn't exactly a violent type, but looks could be decieving, the Jedi remembered, hand falling instinctively to his disguised lightsaber.
"Well my dear sir, it has been pleasant, but I'm afraid I will now have to break off this conversation and attend to my buisness in the ruins." Dakoth announced, attempting to sound authoritative as he slowly edged his way past the Astromech and towards the ruins, ignoring his adversary's previous command.
"I do hope we can do this again some time." The Jedi finished, making no sudden movements as he crept out of the camp at a snail's pace.

Vash, Lena, and the newly arrived Shin stared at the near-ending confrontation that was happening a few distance away.
"Actually I'm surprised this has not occured early with all these agitated travelers looking for clues." Vash said, fumbling for his commpad which was ringing as he kept watching the scene.
"Report." Vash spoke into the commpad.
The deep gravely voice only known to Lore responded, "Nothing at the moment, sir. I've got a sketchy map of the largest encapment from one of the travelers, it shows a bit of what ruin was explored, and some information of the tents set up here."
Vash nodded and said in the reciever: "Alright, just come back to the ruins area." He clicked off and waited as his geologist comrade, Vin cameover, in his hands a couple of scientific probing tools. His white lab coat was now caked with a thin layer of dust.
"I've run schematics are one of the ancient support pillars on the ruins and you're not going to believe what I've found." He showed them a dead insect, it looked like a large venimous fly.
"Its nothing I've never seen before but this thing was living inside the pillar, feeding off solid nutrients. Meaning the pillar actually has organisms all through its structure. Organisms such as bacteria, and even cells in the rocks. Meaning this pillar is like...living. But not in the sense of a animal, but like a tree. It looks like a regular stone pillar, but I think it may provide food to the soil, or other organisms. I've never seen anything like this."
|
Lord Vexen
|
"Well thats very interesting. That means that if something was to bond these cells than they could control the very stone of the structure. That is, if something hasn't been controlling it already" Shin said.
Shin decided to take a little expedition into the forest. Shin primed his blasters for a little hunting and walked into the forest. Suddenly two gigantic ox-like beasts charged at Shin. "What the..." yelled Shin as he dodged the charge. The beasts turned around and came at Shin again.
Shin drew his blaster pistols and shot one of the animals many times in the head, but it barely flinched. Shin ran up into a tree and the animals slammed into the tree sending it crashing down. Shin put three detonation packs on the tree trunck and primed it. The trunk hit the charging animals and Shin pushed the button. The packs exploded and the two animals fell back dead. Shin then began his run back to the camp.

"So how long have you been on this planet?" Jynzo asked
"About one day" Ur replied, as he shoveled food into his mouth.
"well, let me show you something in the forest" Jynzo said as he stood up from the outdoor table.
Jynzo lead Ur Into the dense forest. For several minutes they walked.
"You have not explored much i take it. I have been here for a few days and found out some odd things. The stone on this p[lanet has the ability to actually live." Jynzo said.
They came upon a small clearing. In the center of the clearing there were flowers. These flowers looked like they were made from Crystal.
"Wooh" Ur exclaimed and reached out to touch them.
Jynzo grabbed his hand to stop him from touching them
"No... look" Jynzo said. He picked up a small pebble and tossed it into the center of the group of flowers. The small stone tapped one of the flowers and the flower exploded.
Ur fell back as there was a chain reaction of exploding flowers. The explosions died down as the last flower exploded. He watched in awe as the flowers already started to grow back.
"Pretty amazing huh?" Jynzo said as he helped Ur back onto his feet.
A loud crack was heard over head. A large log shaped object, no doubt shaken loose from the explosions, fell towards the regrowing flowers.
Jynzo jumped out and grabbed the object before it fell on them. He fell to the ground and the object landed ontop of him. It gave out a loud grown.
Jynzo noticed that the object seemed to have wings and was wrapped in vines.
Taking out a knife, Jynzo cut away the bonds to revel a semi-unconscious butler.
"Man o man" Jynzo said as he pushed butler off of himself.

Lady Saber

Saber's polished black boots dirtied with flecks of the sunbaked mud that blanketed the area where she had landed the Natura. It was but one of the numerous encampments that hopeful travelers, scientists, mercenaries and the like established during their explorations of this "dead" planet, Kallibann.
Saber herself couldn't resist the temptation of going there. After all, she had never been to, nor heard of for that matter, an entire planet devoid of the Force. Now that she was here, she acknowledged the fact that she took the use of the Force for granted. She embraced its practical benefits so much it was merely part of her unthinking routine. She had to stop herself on more than one occasion from looking like a fool with outstretched arms on this Forceless world. Foolish, she did feel though. Looking down at her lightsaber hilt dangling from her belt, Saber realized it would cause more bad than good if she ended up using - er, trying - to use it. Yet, the hilt remained for security reasons. How vulnerable she felt and knew she was.
"...At least I have my blaster," the Sith muttered in a halfhearted attempt at reassuring her impaired self.
Why Saber was so worried of a confrontation probably had to do with the fact that she had minimal defenses. Right now, she just hoped for the best in whatever it was she was here for.

Lanik had noticed the fight at the camp to the westof him. The lifeform reading had apeared on his scanners. And he had gone to see what happened. It was just two lowlifes (or so he thought) fighting over somthing. He hadn't left the ship since. He sat in the pilot's seat listing to the female voice he had programed for the ship AI list the ships that had come to the planet and the status of the ruins to the south.
A few thugs had tried to break into the Nhar'Qual, but they hadn't gotten past the automated defense systems which had killed one and left the other's screaming. There was a band a merc that had set up by the solitary camp to the west. They ahd left his ship alone so he left them alone.
Lanik's contacts in the settlements had reported that scientests had found that the pillars in the ruins were alive. That ahd supprised him and he made sure that no rocks were around the Nhar'Qual just in case they were alive too. It never hurt to take percautions.

Butler was not really uncomfortable, but it was quite odd having a live rope tie itself around you and it was not something Butler ever planned on experiencing again. Butler had awoken to seeing Jynzo standing over him. Butler's mind was blurred for a second but suddenly grew cyrstal sharp. "The vine!" Butler yelled as he got up without any resistance.
"Huh? What was that about?" Jynzo asked Ur who looked quite puzzled himself. "I dunno. Hallucinations?" Ur asked Jynzo.
"No, not, hallucinating," Butler said as he panted. Beads of sweat trickled down his forhead as he stood up from the log he had been tied to. It was then that the log morphed into a red figure, badly hurt, but still alive. Seconds later, the vine followed suit and merged with the red figure on the ground. "Incredible..." Butler said, breathtaken as he bent over to study the red form intently hoping to figure out something about them. "They are able to seperate themselves to form multiple parts." Butler said with amazement in his voice, forgetting the peril he had been in moments earlier. "Oh, Jynzo!" Butler said somewhat surprised having forgotten that Jynzo was standing behind him. "Thanks for the rescue." Butler said.
"What do we do with that...thing?" Jynzo asked Butler motioning at the still red figure.
"Well, I suppose there's really only one thing to do." Butler said as he sighed. "Jynzo? Have you ever tried to give medical treatment to a shapeshifter before?" Butler asked.
((I say you and Ur carry the red form back to your ship while I head back to mine and then rendevous with you at your place? Oh and please don't have the red dude die or wake up yet. I want to be there and do the talking when that happens.))

Rive Caedo
|
((Here we go!))
"Now don't make me shoot at you again, please?" Rive stated with only slight annoyance, "I really don't have any des..."
The ground pulsed a pure luminescent white for a moment where Rive was looking for his blaster, then faded.
"Well what in the Nine Corellian Hells was that..." he said, with slight awe
The ground pulsed again - accompanied by distinctive "woosh" sound.
"Oh... I've got a bad feeling about this..."
The ground pulsed again, and again, getting faster each time. Rive stood up and looked around in all directions - the entire field was pulsing. Perhaps the entire planet...
Without warning, it stopped. Moments passed. Another "woosh" sound, this time coming from the large domelike ruin Rive had been defending for the past week. The ruin began to pulse in the same fashion that the ground had been moments ago, it began to shift - reorganizing itself from a dome into a kind of spire. Tall - with circular adornments.
Rive opened his mouth to speak again when suddenly the ruins emitted a fierce light - accompanied by a final "woosh" - and a shockwave that knocked Rive off his feet to the ground and even slid his Z-95 a meter or two.
The ruin - now a pristine white spire - shot a beam of light skyward. It exploded against the atmosphere (and several other impacts from similar beams from nearby ruins could be seen in Rive's peripheral vision). The sky itself pulsed white once - twice - three times, then faded.
All was quiet again. The spire stood and made no further emissions. The ground and grass seemed the same as ever... Then a YT-2400 launched from the nearby shanty town and headed skyward - the sky pulsed again as the freighter reached the mid-levels of the atmosphere; it burst into a brilliant white flame and began to fall back to the surface of Kallibann as a meteor would.
"Oh... I have a very, very bad feeling about this..." Rive said entirely to himself - as he watched the wreckage of the YT cruiser fall to the ground.

Dakoth
|
"And I left my toothbrush on Bakura.." Dakoth said in a distant voice, his eyes affixed to the sky where the craft had just moments ago been ripped from the sky as if it were a fleck of dust.
Taking a step backwards from the seemingly manevolent spire, the Jedi found himself bumping into the aft end of his "companion's" Z-95. Remembering his company, the Jedi turned to his adversary.
"..What is it?" He asked, not daring to tear his eyes away from the gleaming pearl edifice.
Questions rushed to mind as he surveyed what had only moments ago been a dingy, decaying pile of mason. The most obvious ones trying fruitlessly to link the building to the force void on the planet. Others still wondering how it had destroyed a spacecraft in instants. Yet there was still that question burning in the back of his head as to whether he was going to get shot.
It didn't seem to bother him though, he was too intent on studying the mysterious structure, and more importantly looking for a way inside of it.

Nova walked down from his landing ramp. He stepped out from underneath his ship. The sun was blazing in his eyes. As he looked around he saw many trees and shurbury. Nothing here seemed dead. But as he thought back to the flight over the land, he couldn't remember anything really alive besides all the camps that were set up. And they didn't count because they weren't from here. Then he remembered them. They definately were from here. The ruins! Nova saw many ruins scattered throughout the land as he flew over. The closest not to far away, near ship he'd be able to remember if he saw it.
It happened when he took his first step toward the direction of the ruins. The ground pulsed once and stopped. Nova looked down and then around quickly looking for an explination. Then it happened again. A smaller break was after this one. The ground kept pulsing, getting more rapid. Nova was getting afraid and about to run back into his ship when it stopped.
But the peace was short lived. Shortly after the pulsing stopped Nova felt a small tremor underneath him. Then he saw a light. The light shot straight into the sky. Other lights could bearly be seen near by. Then the sky pulsed, just like the ground had. Only it stopped after three times.
Peace took over the land once more. Almost as if nothing had happened. But peace would not stay, not for Nova. The ground around him shook again, he fear for more unexplainable events. But he saw that it was only because a near by ship had just passed him. He watched it work it's way towards the sky when it stopped and burst into white flames. He was shocked at what he was seeing. Nova was frozen, in fear or shock, he would say the latter but who knows. But now that the ship had burst into flames it began to decend back down. Nova could hear the ship shriek over him as it crashed back down to the surface.
He remembered where that light in the sky came from. It wasn't too far from where he now stood, unfrozen but still unwilling to move. The image was stuck in his head, almost glued to his eyelids. Nova's head moved from where the smoldering ship probably laid to where he saw the light. He blinked and saw the image of the light beaming up from where he was looking. His answers, perhaps his destiny, lied there.

Ur and Jynzo walked slowly back to their ship. They carried the red form carefully back with them. Butler went to get his ship.
They carried him into the med bay and carefully laid him down on the bed.
Jynzo then went into the cockpit. The ground outside was pulsing white. Jynzo stared out at the ground.
"Vera, analysis." Jynzo said
"Waiting. waiting. Analyzing. Processing... The white light that was emitted by the ground was an Ion pulse. Indicators say that living bacteria in the ground emitted a large dose of concentrated ionized particles in a single stream. The light was created when the particles in the ground ionized the atoms around them then transfered the energy to a single point where it was released. This occurred in coordinates 28,495,2938,3 in the northern hemisphere." Vera said
Jynzo stood there in shock, he thought for a moment.
"did it hit anything." Jynzo asked
"Yes" Vera stated
"What was it" Jynzo asked again
"A ship" Vera stated
"A ship, what was happening" Jynzo asked
"My data can not confirm what was happening, but last logs of the ship says that it was several miles in the air and was about to leave the planet" Vera stated
Jynzo sat down.

The white pulses had knocked Xander to the ground, momentarily disorienting him. Looking at the sky in a hope to clear his eyes, he swore for a moment that he saw his craft flying away from the planet, and he leapt to his feet. His heart skipped a beat as the craft was shot down and came tumbling back down to the planet, although as it drew closer, he realised with a huge wave of relief, that the colour was wrong, their were no extra turrets, and most importantly of all, as logic took over, realised his was about ten klicks to the left of this one.
Finally realising that the pair had gotten over their differences, Xander decided to jog over to them.
Wait, do we all know each other? After all, we're three prominent Jedi from the Bakuran Order... I'll assume we do?

The events of the macabre ground lighting, the white preen tower ascension and the wayward crash of the transport, that had now smashed into a smear of metal and flame in a field, kept the silent and amazed attention of the entire encapment. Vash could feel everyones number one question in their head:What the hell was that?
When he looked to Lena her face was configured into a dumbfounded look like Coruscant had been blown to smithereen. Vash knelt to the ground, placed his air to the soil and heard a very faint throbbing as if a huge heart was beating, it stopped every couiple of seconds but then the odd cycle happened again.
"Lore, Comeback at my position." Vash said into his commpad, calling back his support gunner. He was trying to make a difficult decision of what do in this impossible situation of this amazing planetary phenomenon.
It wasen't long before his last, husky teammate came over, his trandoshanian slits basking at the miraculious sky show. He ignored the other amazed people that were now scrambling to get into action, trying to find out what had just happened.
"Yes, Captain?" He asked when he stepped into the team's semi-circle. His reptilian cold-blooded voice seemed to carry non of surprise that dominated his eyes.
"Since what just happened, as Team Leader, I want all of us together in pairs for the duration of the mission. The first thing we need, is a anaylis of what just occured, Vin, study the soil, Lore you stay with him and help Vin with his experiments. "Everything checks out as being a normal planet." Vera stated "Except for one anomaly in the geothermal structure of the planet."
"Whats the problem?" Jynzo asked
"The heat in the center of the planet is not geothermal heat." Vera said
"If it's not geothermal then what is it?" Jynzo asked hastily.
Small moment of silence.
"Bio-thermal" Vera said
Jynzo almost feinted.

Lanik was shook from his sleep as the ground pulsed. He jumpped up sliding his custom vibrostaff from his sleeve. The Nhar'Qual's smooth voice spoke up.
"Massive energy readings aproxemently seven kilometers south," the female voice announced.
"Bring the fragging thing up on visual," Lanik said, his voice rising.
The ground pulsed again as the landscape appeared on the cocpit veiwsceen. The dome shaped ruin to the south had "transformed" there was no other word for it. It had been a dome now it was a spire. Then a blinding beam of liht shot from the top of the spire; it was joined by other beams of light from the other ruins. It shot up into the atmophere and dissapated. Moments later a YT-2400 flew up and exploded agianst a pulse of light.
"Oh frag," Lanik muttered.

Lady Saber
|
Saber gazed in awe at the trail of smoke in the sky that marked where, just moments before, an ascending ship had been struck by some blazing light; its untimely descent following. From her position in a patch of grassland, Saber could scarcely make out the contour of the now-wrecked craft as it came into view from the thick line of trees that served as the horizon, let alone the origin of the several shafts of light she saw in the distance.
She was nowhere near any of the numerous ruins that adorned the otherwise average planet, which she figured was one of the few possibilities of derivation, unless of course it was some overzealous group of amateur scientists attempting who knows what. Albeit that may be a temporary mystery for her, the Sith certainly did encounter the pulsating, illuminated earth. The undulations were magnificent indeed, but it was also troublesome for their source was too, unknown; and it was almost unquestionably linked with the airborne event.
Saber couldn’t muster up any words to merely utter to herself even, so she treaded off in silent ambition en route for the grounded wreckage that once served as a spacecraft. She was sure something or another was left as evidence of the fascinating occurence. Not surprisingly, the one time she wouldn’t mind having a speeder around, Saber had left it more than a few kilometers away.

Nova raced towards the source of the light. His mind was racing with questions. But his head still managed to give him that one image that guided him. He wasn't even thinking of what might be there when he arrived. But he was looking forward to it. His run slowed into a jog and then a walk and then he stopped. There he was frozen again, staring at the brilliant white spire ahead of him. It was only then when he saw three people standing near the spire.

Shin fell to the ground as the shockwave hit him. He looked up and saw a towering white structure and a white shield type thing engulf the planet. A ship flew up in an attempt to fly through the barrier and exploded in a firery ball of fire. "Oh great. A death trap" said Shin
Shin ran over to the Vash and found his speeder bike dented against a tree. Shin cursed in his mind and then went over to Vash, "What the hell was that" asked Shin. Vash didn't answer so Shin knew something was wrong.

Butler had been piloting his starfighter when he was suddenly blinded by a large item of light that suddenly streched out. Having been in multiple dogfights, it had become second nature to him to swerve in a near 90 degree angle to avoid obstacles ahead. Butler swerved to the right and saw beacon of light in the far distance. What the? I just swerved to avoid it, is my mind playing tricks on me? Butler quietly asked himself. Suddenly, another beacon of light emerged, this time, Butler was albe to see it's origin, a werid spire that hadn't been there, before...or had it? Butler figured that with so much chaos going on, it might be better for him to go to the ground and wait for the whole commotion to finish.
As he went in for a smooth landing, a pulse like a ripple in the water ripped across the landscape and almost caused Butler's fighter to crash down sideways....which was of course...not the proper way to land. Aw, now what? Butler silently grumbled. Could this get any worse? Butler thought as he hovered over the gound hoping that the awful shaking would stop soon. Suddenly, the ground began to morph into a fimiliar shape, the red creatures and Butler immeadiatly fired on the turbos and took off as fast as he could. I didn't really mean that! Butler thought as he flew off into the sky, momentarily forgetting the pillars of radiant light. He would soon remember as he nearly once again crashed into it. Butler was so used to using the force to pilot his fighter that it posed quite a challenge to fly in those conditions.
Soon, with Butler screeching overhead about 6 meters above the ground, he finally reached Jynzo's location. Butler landed his fighter and hoped that Jynzo and the rest of his crew were ok, afterall, it seemed to him that a quake large enough to move his fighter that wasn't even on the ground should have done some damage. Butler was finally glad to be back on solid ground and his thoughts were further reinforced by a loud crack, and a flaming fireball and descended towards the planet. Soon, there was a loud thud, and a large dust wave engulfed everything for awhile. Without the force to guide him, Butler decided to stay put in his fighter to wait while the dust cleared.
After a couple minutes, most of the dust had moved on to bother someone else and Butler walked up the now open ramp of Jynzo's fighter. Butler rounded a corner and walked towards Jynzo's medbay on the far right side of the ship. The ship itself was a fairly good size and well furnished, by a Jedi's standards anyway. Butler turned a corner and found himself in a strange corridor. "Hmm...don't remember this one. Must have taken a wrong turn." Butler muttered to himself as he went back. Soon, he found the right path and entered the medbay just in time to hear Vera, the ships computer, say something about "Bio-thermal" and entered just in time to catch a now wobbly Jynzo. "Hey! I thought I told you to take care of our mutual friend in red here." Butler said sarcastically as he examined the prisoner.
The medbay was fairly clean and sterile in the typical hospital white. All metal parts were made of stainless steel and the white counters were made of an expensive white stone that Butler couldn't quite make out. In the center of all the equipment were to "beds" or "chairs". On one of them, was the exotic red shapeshifter. "He come around yet?" Butler asked Jynzo.
"Nah...Hasn't done anything except...well...nothing..." Jynzo replied holding himself up against the counter. "I take it you haven't heard of bio-thermal huh?" Jynzo asked Butler.
"No? Should I have?" Butler asked as he examined the creature. Right now, Butler wasn't sure if the creature was sentient, or if it even spoke basic for that matter. On a closer look, the creature appeared to be female, dressed in simple cloths that bound tightly around the skin. Though she was unconcious, her eyes were still open and they were a radient yellow. On a closer look, Butler say that her eyes were not closed, but instead, she had clear eyelids. Her skin was very smooth though she appeared to have unusually long arms and an extremely short neck. "She doesn't look so good." Butler said after a check, have someone patch her up with bacta while you and I discuss "Bio-thermal." Butler said as he walked out the door and into the corridor with Jynzo close behind.
"So just what is Bio-thermal?" Butler asked without much interest.
"Its..." Jynzo started saying but never got to finish the scentence as Ur suddenly shouted for Butler and Jynzo to come quick back to the medbay. Butler and Jynzo burst into the room half expecting a volley of bolts fired at them, but nothing could prepare them for what they saw. The formerly unmoving red figure was now standing, with obvious strain, but it was not the fact that she was standing that was shocking, but the energy that radiated from her. To her left side, she had grabbed Ur by the throat and lifted him up. Something Butler had thought impossible for anyone...even for a Human Replica Droid like Antma or a Wookie like Kipashnawk. Ur himself was engulfed by an electical current and Jynzo quickly rushed forward to save his firend only to bounce back off of the current. In this moment of distraction, Butler threw a solid metal bar at the red creature which hit her head, promptly causing her to lessen her grip and fall to the floor. Butler quickly attempted to use the force to pin her down, only to remember that he couldn't use the force anymore, with that, Butler would have to think of something else.
Butler decided the diplomatic approach and attempted to speak with the creature. "We are friends. Why, did you attack me?" Butler asked.
A hint of reconition showed on her face, she looked at Butler fiercely for a minute, and then spit at him. "Fiend." She yelled.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Jynzo intervened. "No one here calls my friend here a fiend and gets away with it!" Jynzo stated as he began to walk towards the red creature, clearly intending to hurt it.
"Jynzo!" Butler said sharply. Jynzo looked at Butler, remembered what happened to Ur, and then backed down. "Why did you attack me? I can't help you if you don't tell me anything. Do you have a name I can call you by?" Butler asked politely.
Apparently, the creature had decided to talk, and if things didn't work out her way, she could always fry them anyway. "Call me "M", my full name is too honored for you scum to pronounce." The red creature said as she spat at them again. "Thousands of years ago, we lived in peace, and then you humans and other races drove us to near extinction, it was here that we migrated, slowly rebuilding our empire, and now you beings are here to destroy it again! I WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!" M said with determination.
Butler was quite curious as how this came to be that they were driven to near extinction. "Tell us, why did they do that? And how is it that if you have such powers that can even take down Ur, that you can be defeated?" Butler asked quizzically.
"Ur? That's what you call the big beast?" M said with disgust. "The other races saw us as different, from them...not that they had anything in common anyway...just stupidness I suppose. We didn't get powers until we arrived on this planet. Something felt lacking here and it was soon that certain families began to develop powers, mostly over the elements, my particular family has power of electricity." M said with pride. Since Butler had no clue wether that was good or bad except for M's expression, Butler decided that it was pretty good by the tone of her voice. "So why are you here?" M asked Butler. Now was the time for Butler to answer the questions.
"We heard rumors that this world was void of the force, so natually, as force users, we came to investigate." Butler said, summing up almost everything that happened.
"Force Users? You have lightswords?" M asked. "What color?" M added sharply and suspiciously afterward.
"Uh...well, I have several, purple, green, blue..." Butler started to say.
"No red?" M asked.
"No, red are for the sith, or dark Jedi, we on the otherhand are the Jedi Knights." Butler said.
Suddenly, M turned even redder in embarrasment and stuttered to speak. "I'm sorry, I shall clean up all the messes I have made. I apologize for your capture earlier today and hope we can live in peace. You see, it was the Jedi that helped our people in migrating to this planet a long time ago, I am the third generation, our people are long lived, and we have heard stories of your honor, valor, and bravery." M said as she bowed. "My name is Macvilakizavaya Mithibarrantas and I am at your service." M said as she knelt down in front of the two. "But you may call me M, MM, or Mac for short." She now said humbly.
((This fine Rive? Just for further reference, M is the most powerful of her entire clan so all of the red skinned are not powerful lightning wielders It's late right now so I'll just add more to this story tommorow. Jynzo, now may be a good time to discuss "Bio Thermal" and ask M if she knows anything, make Ur kinda pissed off too...but hold him back, and M shouldn't know anything that ways it won't conflict with Rive's story ))

((Oh man i hope this is canon))
"Hey, don't lump me in with you." Jynzo said. He stepped forward and extended a hand "Jynzo, Grey Jedi. Nice to meet you."
M stood up.
"Grey, What does that mean?" M asked
"Nothing, I,m with the Jedi. Tell me, you have lived here, what do you know about this planet. My reading say there is Bio-thermal heat in its core." Jynzo asked wanting the information quickly
"There you go again with Bio-thermal, what is it anyway." Butler asked
"You know what Geo-thermal heat is right. Heat created inside the center of a large mass of stone and rock by incredible pressure. Well, Bio-thermal heat... is heat... created by... living things. Butler, this planet is producing Bio-thermal heat not Geo-thermal. Butler, this planet is alive." Jynzo said.
Ur opened his eyes.
"Did she stop yet?" Ur asked Standing and dusting himself off.
M looked up in surprise as Ur stood. Her electric attack seemed to have little effect on Ur.
"Sorry, not much effects me" Ur laughed. "Its ok, I'm happy right now. Butler, did i tell you, I don't get hurt here. It does not hurt when i move" Ur laughed as he patted himself off.
As Ur dusted of his black coat small sparks began to appear as Ur's hand brushed against the coat's material. M noticed this and stood up quickly, she took a small step back.
"Its beginning." M hissed
"Huh?" Ur grunted as he continued the cleaning of his shirt. Suddenly his hand burst into flames. "AAAARRRRRGGGHHH. WHAT THE HELL! IM ON FIRE. HOW! WHAT? why does this not hurt."
Ur slowly calmed down as he waved his now flaming hand around in the air. Butler and Jynzo stared in awe at Ur's hand.
"Um... Fire usually hurts me?" Ur said "And how come its not spreading?"
"Things are going much faster with you. Who are you?" M asked "We only got our powers after years of living on this planet. You, you are getting it now."
Jynzo leaned over to butler.
"This must have something to do with his origins. I told you i found him, he had just escaped from an Arkanian genetics lab. They did genetic test on his body and thats why he's the way he is now." Jynzo whispered into butlers ear. "They must have done something, you know he has not aged a day since i found him, he's getting older, but hes not showing it. My opinion is that they were trying to make an ultimate soldier, thats why blasters and energy weapons besides lightsabers don't hurt him. And now he has advanced adaptation? whats going to happen next" Jynzo kept whispering.
"Um guys, Im still on fire" Ur said in a worried tone.

(Ok....that was a little weird.)
Vash and Lena headed over to the amazing jubilent spire. The soil around the huge structure seemed to pulse with supernatural light, whisping sand and dirt off the ground as if clensing the surrounding area.
Many people were gathered around it, not daring to touch it, afraid of the consequences.
"This thing seems to be shining externally, without any visible light source. Its like it has a aura." Lena said, inches away from one of the marble-like pillars that supported the tower.
"Any visible entrances?" Asked Lena, picking up a rock, debating or not to touch the sacred like stone.
"Not that I know of," Vash said, looking up at the sky, trying to see the tip of the harrowing tip.
"Hmm," Lena silently responded, and slowly touched the rock againts the base of the pillar. Sparks instantly shot out, shocking Lena and making the bewildered crowd of spectators jump back from the incident.
"Are you alright?" Vash asked instantly, going near her prone body.
"Yes, I'm fine, it seems to have like a electrical current based around it, so if anything touches it, a self defense system kicks in. This is very odd.."

| Quote: | | ((This fine Rive? Just for further reference, M is the most powerful of her entire clan so all of the red skinned are not powerful lightning wielders)) |
((As long as they're not using the Force, it's fine. Latent genes being activated as a side-effect from the ruins or the planet itself? Mutant superpowers work fine, but it can't be the Force Force
It looks like Zsaber has already explained it that way - and due to his body being especially affected by genetics is getting the "Rock People"'s powers without needing to be on the planet for years (or even generations). Which also prevents other people from developing the superpowers, so it works out fine in keeping Kallibann a "no powers" roleplay.))
Rive picked up the comlink from the ground - now with the sounds of shouting and panic audibly emitting from it - and found his blaster right next to it, conveniently. "Skod, you there Skod? What's going on!?"
"Ayeeeeee!" Skod shrieked in that special way that only a Rodian in panic can, "Electrical! Radiological! Kinetic disturbances! My readings are off the chart! I've never seen anything like it! It was like a planet-wide quake... storm... emission!"
"Has anyone been able to contact Coruscant?" he glanced over at R1X-E0 in his Z-95 - clearly disabled by the shock, "my long-distance communications are down."
"Nooo! All off-planet communications went offline the moment of the disturbance, any transmission is just bouncing back to us!" Skod said, still clearly distraught, "Along with any ship that tries to leave!"
"Well that's very... Hold on," Rive said, switching the comlink's frequency slightly to pick up an incoming transmission, "Hello?"
"Master Caedo? Is that you? Thank the Force! We picked up strange readings from the planet and now its giving off a massive presence in the Force - like nothing I've ever felt before..." the voice on the other end of the comlink stated with relief, then concern.
"I --- who is this?"
"This is Armia Delvron, Jedi Historian, I was sent to assist you in investigating the original force ripple and th---"
Rive cut her off, "Where are you now, Armia?"
"Well, ah, about 800 meters up - I just entered the atmo---"
Rive cut her off, again, "you didn't have any trouble coming down?"
"No, master, I'm nearly to your position now..."
Rive could see the sleek, green eta-2 Jedi Starfighter coming towards his position now.
Slowly, Rive placed all the pieces together in his head. Massive Force ripples detected from the rest of the galaxy, cut off from the Force once here, unable to contact the outside world, able to land - but not leave.
The Jedi Starfighter set down next to Rive's own Z-95.
"It's a trap," Rive said almost silently, "it's a trap for Jedi"
((If Rive was less self-centered he would have concluded it was a trap for force-users in general - not just Jedi :p ))

((Like how you incoporated the electircal current into the story anakin That was an intersting post Jynzo...Ur...getting powers? Hmm...he will soon be the next Human Torch/Superman/Sabertooth methinks eh? Sorry, couldn't help but laughing at the thought of Ur with his hand on fire going AAHH! And going semi-crazy while we do nothing and just stand there and talk with M lol. Love the last line: Um...guys, I'm still on fire ))
"M, just what exactly is happening?" Butler asked. He already knew a bit of the basics but wasn't too sure exactly what was going on.
"He is developing powers...rapidly. He may not be able to control them for a few weeks. I suggest you keep him away from any flammable items as the flames are real and if you touch them you will get burned." M said.
Butler was contemplating this last thought when he heard a few familiar voices coming from outside the ship. "Yo Butler! Ya gonna let us in on the party?" Came the voice of Araina. Soon, her voice was joined by several others. Among them, Butler could make out the sound of Mach, ex ARC Trooper that had found away to stop the aging process, Antma, Butler's Human Replica Droid, Crystal, Butler's cousin, and Kipashnawk the wookie. Butler rushed through the corridors and descended down the ramp to meet with his gang with Jynzo and M close behind him. It seemed uncanny to him how M was able to move at the exact same pace that Butler moved. Apparently, this was another one of her abilities, to mimic others.
"'Ey fellows!" Greeted as he came down the ramp. Suddenly he had a thought. "Wait aminute, how'd you guys get down here with the whole bizzare thing going on?" Butler asked, thouroughly intrigued.
"Actually, we got here before it happened and after watching the frieghter get destroyed, we decided to make the rest of the journet on foot...so here we are!" Antma said.

"...JEDI?" Dakoth shouted, throwing his arms up in the air in disbelief, turning for the first time to the man next to him. "You mean to tell me you're a JEDI?" He yelled, examining this so called "Master Caedo". It was possible he supposed, the man looked Jedi enough, and it was true he hadn't attacked him directly. 'You've GOT to be making some kind of sick joke, right?"

( I had to add that haha.)
"I've scanned the invisible electrical force field that surrounds the entire spire and oddly its different form of electricity." Lena said who was crouching next to one of the spire's beautifully but deadly white pillars. She was a little dazed from the defensive shock but seemed to have recovered.
"What do you mean?" Asked Vash, who was on his knees, running his hand through the weird lighting aura that seemed to flash around the surface of the careening tower.
"Well, I have reason to believe this electricity is formed organically, instead of artifically like from generators. This is supported by the fact of its seemingly mysterious supply of power. My only reason to explain this is that it is powered from the odd bio-thermal power in the ground. Also, interestingly enough, the power of the electricity is almost at the same level of other species with self-defense mechanisms such as these. However this is just a theory." Lena added, going back to her datapad.
Vash nodded, "Good work." He turned his head as he heard a shuttle land, and subsequently its ramp going down.
"I'll be back," Vash told her and walked off to the grounded ship. How is this possible, with the orbital shield up? He asked himself.

((Ok Rive...sounds good ))
"Well it is a pleasure to see you. I'm not sure if you all know by friend Jynzo and Ur here and this is my, oh, our," Butler corrected, "new friend...um..." Butler paused and frowned as he tried to say M's full name correctly.
"Macvilakizavaya Mithibarrantas III." M supplied. "Of Family Levitasa." M summed up as she took a polite bow. Butler decided that she had decided that any friends of the Jedi were friends of her. Butler now pondered what they should do next...no one could leave the planet as he found out with the frieghter that had crashed, something not good was going on, and he needed to find out what. Being on a forsaken planet for the rest of his life didn't sound very appealing to him. Unless of course he had a computer which could connect to this very addicting holosite he had found called "rebels".
"So what are we up to now?" Asked Mach, always the straightfoward one.
"Jynzo, tell him and the others about what you've found out." Butler said, half asking and half commanding.
"You know what Geo-thermal heat is right guys?" Jynzo asked. The group nodded thier heads. "Heat created inside the center of a large mass of stone and rock by incredible pressure. Well, Bio-thermal heat... is heat... created by... living things. Guys, this planet is producing Bio-thermal heat and not Geo-thermal...that means that this entire planet, maybe even all the other planets in it's system are alive." Jynzo said. Jynzo paused for a bit to let that soak into the other's minds.
Kipashnawk growled. "Oh happy joy..." His translator droid said.
"Uh...guys...I'm still on fire." Ur said once again as they all stared at his flaming hand.
"What the hell's wrong with him." Crystal asked as she raised an eyebrow. Crystal and Butler were cousins though they didn't know it until after Crystal had been doing a research project on her bloodline and found through public records she had a cousin, a Machalite Taith who was also a Jedi in the Bakuran Order. A prominent one at that too it seemed. It was not long before the two met but after reaching the age of 16, Crystal had decided the Jedi life was not for her. There was not enough excitement or "rush" as she had called it and left the order to become a mercenary. Perviously, Araina and Antma had worked with Butler, both of them because of sticky situations in which they had met and formed a friendship. Butler had sent Antma to keep an eye on Crystal and Araina had followed. Mach on the other hand was trying hard to keep out of trouble...somethign quite hard really for someone bred to kill. During a rest period on Kashyyyk, Mach had met Kipashnawk and Butler had had the breif honor of making his aquaintance when they had met for a short time on Nar Shadda.
"He is developing powers, as our people have." M stated, though not without a hint of shock in her voice. "It is quite unsual for one to develop powers so early, and it usually takes thousands of years and several generations of humans before any change becomes evident. He appears to adapt quickly. Even my lightning shocks didn't seem to hurt him after awhile." M said in a smooth even tone.
"Well why don't you guys come on into the ship?" Jynzo asked.
"We would rather sleep outside. Can't take us out in one blow." Araina explained. "Butler, we'll be in the forest, don't worry if you hear something...it's probably someone else getting hurt, we know how to take care of ourselves." Araina finished with a glint in her eye. Butler nodded, knowing better than to doubt her abilities. She and the rest of the group were capable fighters, well enough to start thier own merc/hunting team and they had actually risen to the top ranks of the lists quickly. ((Meaning they're pretty good))
"Wait." M said before they started walking. "My people will still believe you to be thier enemies, let me go back to them, and I will tell them what you have told me. Perhaps the village Shaman can provide us some answers." M said.
Butler nodded and watched as M ran lightly across the ground, her feet hardly making any noise as she ran as fast as a nexu across the marshy land. Soon, she would be obscured from view by the trees and nothing would ever tell she was ever here except for thier memories. "Crystal, Araina, I suggest you set up a perimeter, not far from the ship." Butler said, still thinking about the red creatures. Butler found himself referring to them as red creatures, it was only them he had realized he didn't know what they called themselves. Butler smacked his forhead in self-disgust.
"What?" Crystal asked as she turned back towards him.
"Just stay around the ship tonight, and if you see any wierd moving things, wake me up alright?" Butler asked.
"Sure, whatever you say boss." They replied as they shrugged thier shoulders in compliance. Butler turned around and was about to head up the ship when he bumped into Ur.
"Ya know...I'm still on fire..."

((Whats the name of the Merc team? I will make one up now lol))
"Araina? Antma? Aren't you those mercs, fairly new but rose quickly in the Underground...um... was it 'The Byzantium' ?" Jynzo asked
"Yeah, you seem to know a lot about it for a Jedi" Ariana said.
"Well, Im not your usual Jedi now." Jynzo said smiling, sending a shiver up her spine.
"I thought the force was usless here?" Araina said nervously
"I don't need the force to make you do what i want" Jynzo said in a quiet voice, but then he stood up and the feeling left the air "But now is not the time"
"Ah... right" Araina said nervously.
Jynzo sat down next to Araina.
"Can i ask you a question. You are pretty famous in the Bounty hunter's circle. What do you know of the group 'Black Before Twilight'?" Jynzo asked
"Oh, um... nothing... i have heard the name, but not much else" Araina stuttered.
"Oh ok" Jynzo smiled.
Jynzo leaned over and whispered something into her ear. The color seemed to drain from her face.
"3 of them." Araina said, drawing attention of others. "So you guys, and the third?"
A small tapping could be heard coming from the loading ramp. Araina and the others except Jynzo jumped up, Araina produced a small blade. Ruby came walked gently down the ramp.
"Daddy, i had a bad dream." Ruby cried
"Come over here." Jynzo said raising his hand towards Ruby.
"Its just a child" Araina sighed when she saw this, she gave a goofy smiled. "Just when i thought i started to like you, i find out that you have a kid" Araina laughed.
Within seconds, Ruby's eyes narrowed and her hand flew to her thigh. He hand then rose up and quick as a whip if flew forward. Araina could not move fast enough and a flash of silver hissed fight by her head, a few hairs fell slowly away. Araina turned to see what just flew past her head, and she saw a knife sticking into the ground buried up to the hilt.
"Don't make fun of daddy" Ruby said angrily as she walked over and collapsed into Jynzo's arms.
"Don't tell me, number 3 is..." She trailed off
Jynzo smiled and nodded.

"Lore, Come with me", Vash said as he passed the duo of Vin and his more stronger comrade. They had been both talking to spectators and getting soil samples of the ground. "Vin, you come also."
The scientest hurridly followed the two other experienced veterans of the Galactice Security squad team. He was heading to the ship had just landed and saw a odd red bipedal alien flit into the forest area.
"Hey, what the hell was that?" Vash asked, going up to a man that seemed to be just talking to it.
"Huh, who are you?" The man asked, frowning. He was dressed in robes.
"Galactic Security Orginization," Vash said, taking out his badge. "Tell me who that was."
"I am Butler, unfortunately,I cannot supply that information to you."
Vash kept his cool but underneath he was getting irritated.
"Thats poodoo, we all deserve to know whats going on here." Vash replied, keeping his hand close to his hip holster. Behind him the muscular Lore grunted but Vin stayed silent.

"Jedi?" Xander echoed the sentiment. Turning to look more closely at the two men, he allowed his draw to drop, feigning surprise. Information he had gathered, streaming through his ear at that moment, told him their identities.
"Master Caedo! Dakoth!" Xander said, grinning ear from ear, "If there was anyone I wanted to be stuck on a planet with for all of eternity, it would have to be you two."
Rive looked at him strangely, "Who are you? I haven't seen you before in my life."
Xander allowed the smile to drop. "Surely you recognise me. And you, Dakoth, come on, I think we sparred together once, a few years ago."
"I can't say I remember you either," Dakoth said, a puzzled look on his face.
"But surely you do! I came to the Temple, you were on the Council and-"
"Council? I'm not on the Council," laughed Rive.
"Well, not anymore, but -"
"I've never been on the Council," Rive said.
Xander took a step backwards, "But, how is that possible?"
Rive adopted a more grave tone. "I have just been contacted by a Jedi Historian, Armia Delvron. She has been able to enter the atmosphere of this planet, suggesting that the planet is only trapping people from leaving. The Force ripple across the Galaxy, drawing Jedi to it, then stopping them from leaving. Perhaps it hasn't merely trapped us in the three physical dimensions."
"What do you mean?" Xander asked, unsure what Rive was saying.
"Perhaps it has trapped us in the fourth dimension as well: Time." Rive said, musing allowed, "But that's impossible, scientists have attempted time travel for hundreds of years, succeeding in no more than blowing themselves up. How could a planet acheive it, in not just drawing you through time, but also depositing you in a time period along with the rest of us? Perhaps Hyperspace has something to do with it. Do you remember those old stories, legends more like it, of that living planet Zonama Selkot? Apparently it was able to travel through space. What if this planet, upon the activation of these old ruins, jumped randomly into space, and was caught in a Hyperspace pocket? That could result in a warping of time and space."
A living planet? This was interesting, Xander thought, but kept quiet.
"Did you see either of our faces before the ruins were activated?" Rive said, "When you came to this planet, the ruins had already been activated in our time, meaning that for you, as soon as you arrived you were trapped on the planet. That means that as soon as you arrived you were sent back - the Force knows how far, after all, who's to say that we weren't sent back as well? - to join us in this time, and witness the ruins being activated."
As they paused, digesting this information, Dakoth quipped, "My head hurts. That still doesn't make any sense by my reckoning. Sounds more like a holo-drama plot to me. Time travel still seems to be a stretch on the imagination rather than a realistic event."
"And what about the theory that energy cannot be created or destroyed?" Xander asked, "If that were true, then as soon as I was sent to this specific time, the energy that was me in the future was destroyed, and the energy that is me now was created."
"But energy can be transformed," Rive said, "Who's to say it didn't transform into a form that was able to be transported through time and not just space? Just because our best astro-physicists can't understand these things does not make them impossible."
((Well, that was my attempt at explaining what has happened. I hope I haven't troden on anyone's toes in my explanation - and if I have, or if Rive wants to add his own take on it or whatever, its easily manageable "Rive suddenly understood, "No, what really happened was..."" or something a little less dodgy than that. ))

Shin watched Vash leave and decided to go his own way for now. He heared someone scream "JEDI" and ran over to the location. He found three humans standing there. He recognised one of them, Dakoth, from his time in the ORS but he looked a bit younger the others, SHin didn't recognise at all. Shin walked up to the mysterious beings and put away his blasters.
"Jedi Master Dakoth, what are you doing on this planet? And who are you two. Oh by the way, my name is Shin Kai, Dakoth should know who I am" said Shin. He kept his blasters away for he knew they would be useless thanks to the vaunted, Force, which Shin hated so much.
|
Dakoth
|
"who?" Daktoh said a blank look crossing his face as he turned to examine the ORS mercenary. Normally his saber would have already found itself into his hand, but that was a privilidge he was unable to enjoy on Kallibann. Biting his lip, he resumed "We are here to try and find the reason that non force-sensitives are the only ones unable to leave the planet, and hopefully find a way to set you people free." He explained, a look of calm certainty engraved upon his face. Pointing up, he gestured towards the quickly descending ship of the Jedi historian.
(( See what I did there? ))

((Xander: Although you made Rive comes off as a bit more knowledgeable than I usually play him (and indeed that's why I decided to bring Armia Delvron and Skod into the story - to provide information that Rive couldn't/wouldn't know himself), it was inevitable that Zonama Selkot come up at some point - so it might as well be in the same place as all the other strangeness (time travel) that hopefully I or someone else will be able to come up with some better explanation for later in the story )
Rive opened his mouth for a moment to rebuke this - Jedi? - Dakoth's allegation that force sensitives would be able to leave the planet, but then closed it realizing that 1) it was possible that force-sensitives COULD leave the planet - although he wasn't going to try it himself and 2) the amount of people here had just surpassed the number that Rive was confident R1X-E0 (who had recently come back online) could blast into a million pieces before Rive himself was shot a fatal number of times, so any conversation that could increase the likelihood of a firefight was not a good idea.
Upon this revelation, Rive began to walk slowly - very slowly towards Armia's still idling starfighter.
Ignored by the continuing conversation between the continuously growing number of people at his humble little camp, Rive gestured for Armia to open her cockpit.
"I - was... unaware that you already had assembled a party to assist you with your research, Master Caedo, I ---"
Rive put up a finger to silence her and then pointed it at Dakoth
"That one threatened to shoot me"
he pointed it at Xander
"That one thinks he's from the future"
he pointed at Shin
"That one just got here - but he knows the one who tried to shoot me, so I don't especially like him either"
Finishing a full rotation he pointed at Armia
"You are neither from the future nor have tried to kill me - or associated with those who have tried to kill me. Please, please tell me you have some good news so I don't need to add you to this list of little annoyances."
Armia was taken aback "I - ah - "
"Yes?"
"I brought you a new recording rod? One that doesn't need a force nudge to activate..." she said, holding up a shiny, still packaged, recording rod.
With a smile, Rive helped her out of the Jedi Starfighter's cockpit.
"Some sanity, at last"
((Just so we're clear, yes, the sky would pulse and the force-sensitive foolish enough to have tried to leave Kallibann now would come down as a pretty flaming meteor
Also: Rive seems to be silencing and cutting people off a lot lately - what a jerk ))

Vash, along with his Galactic Security comrades, the trandoshan Lore, and Vin his geologist stepped up to the newly arrived ship where a man and a woman were conversing.
"Hey, maybe you are a person with at least some chances of knowledge whats going on." He asked the man standing near the ship.
"And now who are you?" He replied, he had a weird object in his hands that he just received from the woman.
"Vash, squad commander of the Galactic Security Organization team sent here. I want answers on whats going on here." He said quickly.
"Don't we all? I'm Rive by the way. However I'm very busy so politely, please stay out of my way." He said, turning his attention back to his newly received object.
Vash was going to say something but turned away to his two comrades. "Obviously some people know more stuff than others, I want you two to go to near Lena at the spire, I'll stay here and try making alliances so we can get out of here."
They both nodded and went off, disipating in the giant crowds that were around the tower not to far away.

As Rive watched Vash's companions head off to another - undefended - spire his eyes caught something heading directly for his own camp. As it came closer he identified it as a V-35 Courier Landspeeder - as it came even closer he identified it as Skod's V-35.
Unclipping his comlink from his communicator, Rive turned it back to the secure frequency he and Skod had been using, before he had switched it to talk to Armia, "Skod, what are you doing here?"
"Exciting! Exciting data! Do you remember that sample from the ruins you had me analyze? It dissipated! Returned back to the planet! Returned under the planet! All over the planet! All --" - the Rodian was practically squealing.
"Skod, Skod?"
"-- over the interior of the planet! I tracked it! There's a network! An entire network of tunnels, caverns, pathways - somthing! And not on--"
"SKOD! What are you doing here; and why are you not slowing down!?"
The V-35 immediately whined as the engine was put into full reverse to avoid careening into Rive, Armia, and the ever-increasing visitors to the camp. The cockpit hissed opened and Skod - a somewhat overweight, aging in body (but certainly not in spirit), blue-grey skinned Rodian crawled out.
Skod quickly shuffled over to the back of the speeder and opened the cargo hatch and began removing expensive looking archaeological equipment, "I couldn't get near any of the other spires! Vermin! Uncivilized vermin! Wouldn't even let a real scientist through to analyze the spires up close!"
Rive - and several other members of the camp - stared as the Rodian began to shovel the equipment into a backpack, "But you, Master Caedo, you have kept this one safe!" Skod closed the cargo hatch and looked at the other members of the camp - and more specifically at the blasters at several of their hips - "... more or less."
Skod placed the rather large backpack on his back, placed a smoke grey cane in his hand and began to... waddle... at a brisk pace towards the spire.
((I've decided to base Skod on Jurassic Park's John Hammond - it really seemed like the only way to go ))

Nova was now hiding behind a tree. He was watching this all with an ever growing interest. Over the last few minutes he'd seen a group of two men grow to a group of six. And is it possible that these people actually understood what was going on here. It also seemed that four of these people were Jedi and Nova wasn't about to reveal himself to them.
So for the time being he was just going to stay where he was and watch. And if he thought that anyone was dangerous, well he had his blasters.

(Nice new character Rive. )
Vash stared curiously at the studdy, pudgy rodian that had just slipped out of the cockpit, loaded equipment into a nice little pack that surprisingly fit it all in. The stout alien then started on his way, his cane digging into the ground as he walked slightly with a limp.
"And you are?" Vash asked.
"Skod, now the mostly intelligent visitor on this planet. Hes a expert scientest, been in the field of geology, planetary science, various fields of biology. Hes done it all." Rive answered for him, eyeing the security officer before turning his attention back to Skod.
"It--is quite stuffy out here, I must--say." Skod said, keeping his large eyes on the giant white spire.
"Can you make out what that is?" Vash asked, approaching the elder scientest.
"No--not from here...how did--it came to be?" He asked anyone in general.
"It just transformed out of ruins, manifested. Like supernatural." Vash answered, but already Skod was shaking his head at this answer.
"Absolutely not---not in my--50 years studying planets have I---heard of a giant spire---with self defenses which transformed by supernatural means. It--had to have been activated by a single source." Skod said a matter of factly while he started walking. Vash, Armia and Rive followed.
"How did you know it has a self-defense mechanism?" Armia asked dumbfounded.
"Well, it is kind of obvious---people are standing 10 feet away around it!" Skod answered whisply.

Dakoth
|
Dakoth raised an eyebrow as he examined the newest arrival to the camp, a rather quirky Rodian, fumbling with some rather advanced looking piece of equipment as he hobbled about, stumbling over the rocky terrain that marked the spire's foreground.
Not seeing much of an alternative he set off towards this Skod fellow, breaking into a jog to catch up with the rodian and his ever growing entourage.
"This just keeps getting better." the Jedi grumbled under his breath, remembering he was still essentially weaponsless.

Xander took a moment to take it all in. Suddenly, as if from no where, their entourage had grown from just the three of them, to include a diverse range of people. Since everyone seemed to be following the Rodian, Skod, Xander thought he remembered Rive saying his name was, Xander rolled his eyes and walked off at a slow pace, keeping them in sight as they hurried across the terrain, back the way he had come, towards a large spire near the camp he had set up at.

"Oh joy a crazy rodian scientist" though Shin. He had half a mind to take out his blasters and fry this Skod, like Han Solo did to Greedo. However, he kept his blaster away, Shin had no idea what the rodian knew. This rodian could be the key to getting off this deathtrap. If need be he would kill everyone around him to get off this planet.

Lady Saber
|
Saber wove her way through the labyrinth of trees; the jungle was certainly thicker now, growing denser as she distanced herself from the plains-like area, yet there were still a number of clearings where ships had landed, or modest encampments were set up. Many of the plants here were rather outlandish, Saber noticed. The eccentric fusion of color resulted in a recollection of the kaleidoscopes children seemed to be so fond of. From what she'd seen, the place almost reminded her of a combination of Yavin 4 and Felucia, but to compare it to anything would almost undercut its inimitability.
The Sith spotted several people heading the same way she was, no doubt on their way to investigate the earlier occurrence, however, she failed to recognize anyone. This surprised her, somewhat: Saber had quite a few associations that wouldn’t miss the opportunity to explore this bizarre planet for anything.
The area of the forest she was in was of much shorter length than she had expected. Already the trees were of farther proximity, and the multihued landscape was growing less brilliant. The camps’ inhabitants were of a more regular sight, and there was a definite air of excitement as Saber walked by them all.
“Ah, frag,” a familiar and mildly annoyed male voice sounded somewhere off to her right.
Saber turned to see the back of a man facing toward what she presumed to be his spacecraft. What he was doing was beyond her, but Saber suspected she might know this guy.
“Lanik,” she said simply but questioningly, and he turned to face her, slightly startled.
((Erm, well I'm not entirely sure I follow the time travel thing, so I'm not sure if I'd know Lanik or not. We planned to meet up, so tell me if this doesn't correlate with what we're doing.))
|
Rive Caedo

((Meh, pay the time-travel technobabble no mind. It's 17 years before the Battle of Yavin (which is a bit odd to refer to it that way - seeing as I've never seen any evidence that the Battle of Yavin even occurred in our timeline - did it?), that's all that really matters.
On that note, Vexen referring to Han Solo shooting Greedo is a bit anachronistic ))
Skod continued to plod across the rocky terrain (which was created by the large footprint of the dome-shaped ruin that had occupied the space less than two hours ago), followed by the rest of the camp.
He finally stopped a mere two meters in front of the spire and took off his bulging backpack. He leaned down pulled a trio of cylindrical rods - with power conduits running up from a circular stand on the bottom and culminating in a small artificial prism on top.
Armia leaned over to Rive and whispered, "those are highly illegal."
Skod stood up and slung the backpack over his shoulder - pointing his cane at her with his other arm. "My dear girl, I remind you that Kallibann is not a part of the Empire." He placed one of the rods on the ground as he continued speaking, "In fact, it is not part of any government - it was last claimed by the Ovian Confederation - which became a non-issue when Ova was destroyed... oh.. about two decades ago?"
"Well even so, the Galactic sanctions..." Armia began to respond with indignation.
"Even if we were under the jurisdiction of the Empire, I assure you I am fully licensed to handle transphasic reorganizers." Skod said while placing the second of the three columns a few meters away from the previous one.
"I'm sorry, what reorganizers?" Master Vos interjected.
"Well, as I was telling Master Caedo before, this planet is quite thoroughly biologically based - which is, in itself, quite fascinating - but there's also Pacathian alloys imbued into it acting as a power distribution network of sorts! Very fascinating!"
"Pacathian? Kallibann isn't in the Pacanth Reach - not even close, how could ---" Armia, Jedi Historian, responded.
"As I said ---" Skod placed the final of the three cylnders on the ground - between the previous two and about a meter back, "--- Very fascinating. The only place we're likely to find any answers is deeper in the network - underground. So..."
Skod took a small control unit from his pocket, "Would everyone please take a few step back?"
Skod himself only moved back a few steps, the rest of the party took more.
Flicking a switch on the control unit, Skod's transphasic cylinders lit up a pale blue color. The crystal at the top of each one began to grow a deeper and deeper blue tone. After a few moments, the subtle white glow of the spire near the cylinders seemed to begin draining off towards the crystals. This process continued for a nearly thirty seconds before the cylinders shut themselves off.
Skod walked forward and picked up the center rod and shook a fine white powder off of the crystal's surface, "perfectly refined Pacathium - quite valuable, actually." He collected the other two rods and placed all three back in his pack. Then, he walked directly up to the spire and gave it a rap with the back of his suction-cup tipped fingers.
No reaction.
"There we are! No Pacathium, no power distribution. Now, would someone else do the honors of making an entrance for us?"
"First he violates at least 14 Galactic sanctions - now he wants to blow a hole in a valuable and unresearched phenomena?" Armia again whispered to Rive.
Skod straightened his back and held his cane tightly, "All in the name of science, my dear!" He made a sweeping gesture with his other arm, "There are plenty of other towers across the entire planet for you and the Imperial Senate to spend decades deliberating who can research them, when they can research them, and how they can research them. As for me, I'm getting some answers today. You can come along or you can go to one of the other towers and gawk at it like the rest of the vermin."
Armia was at a loss for words.
((Whew, okay, hopefully that's the last bit of long exposition I need to do.))

Vash nodded at his new founded understanding, the elder scientest just took out the spire's main electrical defense around its walls with some object he never seen.
"What...how?" Someone said behind him, and he saw Lena, his force user advisor.
"I'm not sure, but this guy is good." Vash said, grinning.
"Whatever, I've seen that thing before." Said Vin, the now obvious jealous geologist scoffed at the act.
"Now, all we need to some explosive force to knock down this thing." Skod said, making what looked like a fist and knocking againts the solid marble looking wall of the spire.
"Do you know what type of mineral it is?" Rive asked, crossing his arms.
"Yes, I'm sure its Lylak, one of the most strongest---organic stones. Its powerful outer shell comes from its inner cells that line its core. Plentiful nutrients make sure that the wall's shell are almost---inpenetrable. However if someone has a large enough--array of explosives, were going to have a problem." Skod informed them.

Nova stood there behind his tree watching and listening to everything this "scientist" was saying. At least he sounded offical. It looked as if they were all going to try and get inside this brilliant white spire. He looked down at his belt, he had a few grenades and a thermal detonator for tight situations. He didn't know whether to wait until they found a way in and loot this ship or try and help out this group and try to blow a hole in that thing. The ship looked like it would hold some good stuff inside. And they were Jedi, couldn't they just use their lightsabers to cut a way in?
Nova felt a little daring so he rolled up to a closer tree to get a better look at this ever growing party. He spotted a droid by the ship, he could probably take it with a well placed shot or ion grenade. Nova lifted his rifle and looked through the scope at the party, they were checking out the spire. It was a little bit away from the ship, if he shot would they hear the explosion? He took another step forward.
Crack! He stepped on a branch. Nova froze in his spot. Did they hear him? He didn't even dare to breathe.

Dakoth
|
Move aside." Dakoth said slightly impaitently, unclipping his saber from his belt, much, much more carefully than the last time. Slowly he held the hilt out, with as much precision as he could muster. Finally, Dakoth's thumb came down on the saber ignition, a brilliant viridian beam shooting forth, coming within inches of the Spire's outer wall. Steadying himself, he leaned forward, preparing to cut through the thick wall, a task which when force assisted would have been completed an eon ago.
His blade was now trembling within centimeters of the wall, when without warning it disengaged instantly, the wall it had skimmed against rumbling lowly, before falling still. Seconds later the telltale hiss of decompression echoed forth, the wall suddenly receeding into itself. An iris making itself visible as the organic bone white Lylak pulled away, creating a door.
Closing his eyes, he feigned a look of serenity and composure as he strode into the spire's interior, the others arrayed outside becoming even more confused.
Dakoth called back with a laugh "Come on in, lets get star-"
He stopped midsentence as he reopened his eyes and looked down. Only two inches seperated himself from the inky blackness of a seemingly endless shaft.
The crowd fell silent in confusion at what loomed before them. "You?" Skod demanded "How, How did you do that? Thats.. thats comple-" The rodian jabbered, fiddling with his instruments.
"The force." Dakoth said, a smug grin upon his face as he reclipped his lighstaber to his belt. Of course that was a blatent lie, but it could turn out to be a benificial one. People seemed much less likey to trifle with a force wielder than a guy without a blaster.
Feigning a look of serene bliss, Dakoth closed his eyes and waltzed into the structure, grinning to himself. Calling back to the befuddled group arrayed outside the building he ordered them forth. "C'mon guys, its perfectly saf-" He stopped midsentence, a pang of terror consuming his heart.
looking down the Jedi discovered that currently, only three fourths of an inch seperated himself from the inky blackness of a massive, seemingly endless shaft.

Lord Lanik
|
Lanik had been working on rerouting the defense systems to shoot anything that got near the ship without his permission. Meaning that it would kill anyone who didn't have their biological data entered into the ships memory core.
"Ah, frag," he muttered with more than a little exasperation.
He was so absorved in his work that he didn't notice as a person came up behind him.
"Lanik?"
He whirled around pulling his two Verpine Shatter Pistols out of their holsters.
"Saber!?!" He exclaimed. "What the frag are you doing here. I though you were on Dantoine."

Lady Saber

"Not anymore," Saber replied, her impassive face contrasting sharply to the other’s still startled expression. “A world without the Force is worth checking into, yes? I don’t suppose you’re overly hindered by it, though,” she said, eyeing the blackness of the twin blasters’ barrels. “I ask you the same question.”
Lanik caught her gaze and re-holstered the weapons he had forgotten he was holding. “The same reason, I guess. But, I’ve seen quite a few wishful thinkers," he said as an afterthough. "Heh, fools.”
Saber waited several moments before saying anything. “Well, assuming you’re aware of the ground pulsations and light beams and whatever other episodes, I was merely on my way to get a closer look, see what it was…Or as close as I can come to it, anyway. You wouldn’t want to come, would you?”
“No, of course not,” Lanik said with clear sarcasm.

Butler_Swan
|
Butler had the feeling it was going to be a long night. With dusk soon approaching, darkness would fall soon. And with that, according to "M" anyway, the animals, which were more or less mutilated beasts that had been chased off thier home planets and dropped on the now force-forsaken rock, would come out to stalk and own the night. Though why they dropped them on this planet Butler had no idea. It was not originally force-forsaken, unless it had escaped the notice of thousands of archeologists and Jedi Librarians that had passed through out the many centuries since the planet's existence. Butler decided that these probably weren't your average little pet you'd find in the typical hosuehold, or even the kind you'd find in the company of Gammoreans. It had been a couple hours since "M" had been gone now, not that he was worried for her really, it was her home turf but more or less he was worried that they would be attacked by the red skinned people once again if "M" didn't reach them in time. The last time, they had been able to subdue him, a Jedi of high ranking, quite a feat Butler imagined, even for someone who could wield lightning. But then again, without the force, a Jedi wasn't quite a Jedi anymore.
Butler was on watch and he had taken the first shift along with Mach who now bore a scar along his right cheek that crossed over his eye. For the many minutes that seemed like hours, Butler and Mach waited, and looked for movement large or small, though there seemed to be nothing that happened on a large scale anywhere on this planet anyways. Butler had begun to give up hope that "M" would return by nightfall when several red skinned figures burst from the undergrowth, with "M" leading them.
"My friends," M said as she gestured towards Butler. "meet Jedi Master Butler Swan, Jynzo also Jedi, and thier companions." M said, finishing the introductions. As M was speaking, the red skinned people quietly bowed humbly and stared at Butler with reverence.
"Great," Mach muttered to Butler silently. "Just what we need, a planet full of nut heads who think you're some sort of divine figure." Butler cast Mach a sharp glance but Mach apparently was set in his thinking. As Butler bowed to the red skinned people, they red skinned people suddenly bowed as well, bowing lower than he did. Butler looked at M questioningly. "Tradition and Culture." M said to him, filling him in on why they did so. Butler nodded in understanding and walked next to M, hoping to ask her what they called themselves.
"M, excuse me, but I've been remiss, what do you call your people?" Butler asked, hoping not to offend her. "Like all the the red-skinned people like you?" Butler asked. Embarrased he had not asked earlier.
"Lloth" M replied.
"Sorry, didn't catch that. You said it so quick. What was it again?"
"Lloth"
"Lloth...has a nice ring to it." Butler said as he studied the new group of arrivers.
"Oh forgive me!" M suddenly exclaimed as she brought an orange skinned Lloth forward. "This is our Shaman, Roddeneeth of Clan Incendia, Clan of Fire. Perhaps she can help you large friend. He seems to be developing fire powers." M said as she turned to the Shaman. The Shaman nodded and went towards the ship and soon dissapeared inside. Butler watched in interest as he noted the color of her skin. Orange. Originally, Butler had thought they were all red-skinned.
"M? Do you all have different skinn colors?" Butler asked, intrigued.
"We have different skin colors by our clans though they are all...how do you beings put it...forgive me, I haven't spoken in basic in a long time now...um...warm colors? Is that it? Like yellow, red, and orange?" M said.
"Yes, warm colors, that is how we put it. Just wondering though, if you are the third generation and you hate outsiders, how is it that you speak basic?" Butler asked.
"We value the cultures and langauges of all, not just our own. In our "schools" as you put it, we teach all languages. Each student is requried to know at least ten. For example, I speak rodian, huttese, basic, Shyriiwook, mando'a, Shi'idese, Durese, Twi'leki, Kel Dor, and Togruti. All of which I am proud to say, have mastered. We see the value of all cultures, and of all races. We have entertwined all of them to form our culture which was shaped by my ancestors." M finished.
"But let me ask you, how is it that they came to learn these languages before you came to this world?" Butler asked.
"As I said, we learn many langauges, some languages, such as that of the ancient people that lived here long ago are lost to us." M explained.
"I better go check on Ur and call the rest of my people out so they don't confuse you for enemies. In he mean time, make yourselves at home." Butler said to the Lloth. "Mach! If anyone tries to shoot them, make sure they know who they're dealing with first, if they still shoot, stun them, don't kill them."

((Well I did my last post mostly as Skod - with a dash of Armia - I suppose I should be getting back to Rive now to help solve the issue of how to descend the shaft inside the spire.... --- Naaaah!))
R1X-E0's auditory sensors picked up a short spike to the south-east.
Spinning its dome - a one-of-a-kind amalgamation of an R2 unit dome with outdated, but effective, R1 electronics - and the laser turret it had been given direct control over to face the direction of the sound, Eezee located... a tree.
Standard imperial procedures went into effect - a remnant of the Victory-Class Star Destroyer it had originally been assigned to.
First, an optical scan. Nothing out of the ordinary detected.
Second, an electromagnetic scan. Several weapon signatures identified.
Third, a thermal scan. Heat signature detected.
Procedures for an unknown heat signature went into effect.
First, an x-ray burst scan (deemed safe by Imperial Safety Guideline 000-223-E004). Humanoid bone structure identified.
Procedures for an identified bone structure went into effect.
The bone structure was scanned against previous scans - no match found.
Procedures for a humanoid of unknown origin or identity, with known weapons, hiding behind a tree - went into effect... approximately 0.74 seconds after the audio spike had been detected originally.
R1X-E0 fired several "warning shots" at the tree and sent a full report of the scans to Rive Caedo.
((Yes, the Empire did have the foresight to have specific procedures for a threat hiding specifically behind a tree - although to be fair, it calls for basically the same reaction as for a threat hiding behind anything else ))

Nova held his breath as every shot was fired into the tree he was back to hiding behind. The high-pitched beeps screamed in Nova's ear, even though he was a good ways away from the droid. He wanted to just blow the fraking thing up. But now that he had potentially been given away he wasn't about to make any other movements that might give anything else away. All he could do was wait and hope they would ignore the alarm and continue their journey into the spire.

The now larger group of the "Spire Investigation" spectator group turned their heads at the commotion as a small, but respectable Imperial R2 unit shot a couple of red bolts in the bark of a tree, causing small splinters to juke out from the small impacts.
"What is it?" Vin asked, peering his head to see what was behind the tree. Lena, and Lore silently kept to themselves, either musing on what was happening with the spire, or just in their own world of thought.
Vash ignored it, pushed through the crowd of people around the now-open spire and slowly got to the front of the people to see the gaping maw of the hole.
The so-called Force user that opened it, stepped back out of the pitch darkness and turned to the mass of people, "Were going to need some climbing gear." He said with a hint of disbelief in his voice.
Vash pushed past the 'force user' and slowly crept into the orafice. He grabbed a illumistick from his military-grade security belt and clicked it on. Like the man had said, it was like a shaft. The walls even though hard to see in the scarce light offered by the illumination, look moist...or wet, as if moss was growing on them. He dropped the illumistick into the abyss shaft and watched as it kept falling down, intill it was swallowed by the darkness.
Behind him Skod was already forming a plan of action in his stuttering way, "....well--I don't have any climbing---hooks..or axes..but I do have rubber tubing, rope, and mountaineering boots--with durasteel pegs on the bottom. They're quite effective."

"Before we go I need to get some equiptment," Lanik said hurring up the landing ramp to his ship.
He returned a few minutes later with a lage pack on his back. Saber raised a questioning eye.
"A few remote trigger explosives, gernades, and three rolls of tape, oh yeah," he said reaching down his boot.
He pulled out another Verpine Shatter pistol.
"For you."

Xander waited impatiently, shifting from foot to foot as the equipment was brought into the small clearing near the near-bottomless shaft. He was struck momentarily by the fact that a group of strangers were working together almost without question to get off this planet, especially considering the fact that he, Xander, had had no intention of getting off this planet, and, despite the knowledge he couldn't leave when he wanted to, and that somehow the time-space continuum had warped around him just to put him in a foul mood, everything was still as he had hoped it would be on his arrival. He wasn't able to use the Force; and so would be forced to do everything by hand. There was no conflict that required his help, well, beyond this group of crazed explorers trying to tear the planet apart with their own bare hands.
Shaken out of his thoughts by the sound of a crazed R2 droid jittering as if it had inhaled large quanities of Glitterstim, Xander and much of the group turned to watch as Rive's Z9-Headhunter opened fire on a tree.
"Odd, musn't like the wildlife," Xander commented, as a small group rushed over to the tree to investigate what the source of the droid's worries seemed to be.

"So we have the rope, and the climbing boots but we don't even know what the wall is like, the air inside--" A bothan spectator baffled but was cut off as Skod pushed past him and slowly crept into the darkness that was dimly lit by various illumisticks. The brash Jedi, known as Dakoth had quickly posted them up.The meters-long rope was tied to a tree and let down into the abyssimal shaft.
"Hmm..." the Rodian sniffed the moist air inside the seemingly endless shaft, "No lethal gases detectable---well at least the ones with odors. We need that R2 Unit to scan for any harmful gases before we descent." He garbled before going next to one of the inside walls, and lightly touched it with his alien hand.
He looked at the inside of his palm and curiously looked at the green slime on his hand as he came out of the entrance. Many people were near a tree as if investigating but some people were still near the entrance, just looking at the commotion from a short distance.
When he got into a adequate source of light---which was a light beam from a hanging illumilamp on one of the nearby trees he studied the unknown substance.
"Do you have any idea what it is? Lena, by the way" A human female said.
Skod adjusted his position on his cane, gave a quick smile to the lady and said: "Well, young lady, it is more certaintly living, its all over the walls in the shaft. Perhaps its for defense, or something worse."

Armia Delvron was stalking back from her ship with a scowl on her face.
"You," she began while grabbing Skod's arm and taking a small sample of the slime from his hand, "are completely useless." She scraped the thumb sized quantity of goo into a dish and slid it into her CryonCorp scanner for analysis.
"Some of us, my dear, prefer to earn knowledge for ourselves - rather than asking a little computerized box," Skod said, with more than slight condescension.
"You just suggested we use a droid!" she shot back.
"Well, there's a distinct difference betwee --" Skod was interrupted by Armia's scanner beeping, "So? What does the box tell you, my dear?"
Armia was already getting distinctly tired of Skod's overemphasized pleasantries, "It's alive."
"I said as much"
"And it's..." she paused, "breathing metal."
"What?" Lena spoke up this time.
"It's breaking down the Pacathium, combining it with the trace amounts of carbon in the air, and creating..." she pointed up at the exterior of the Spire, "that. Walls, barriers, structures - whatever you want to call it."
"I think the slime is going to your head, my dear," Skod mocked - then he glanced at his hand, still drenched in goo, "... but it does say it's not toxic, correct, Miss Delvron?"
_______(Insert Star Wars style wipe to another scene)_______
Rive glanced at R1X-E0, then at the turret, then at the tree.
He crawled onto the wing of the Z-95 and over to Eezee - and gave it a slight kick to its dome.
"Stop wasting power cells and wait for whatever it is to come out"
Eezee disengaged the turret with a slight whirrl.
All was quiet for a moment, none of those that came back to the camp to check out the commotion said a word or made a move towards the tree - a slight wind kicked across the grasslands - for a moment Rive felt like he was back on Dantooine - where he was yesterday... the long lonely days... nothing to do sometimes but exactly this, sit on the wing of his ship and think... just... think.
A chirp from Eezee broke this train of thought, and the silence.
"No, Eezee, you can't start shooting again when whatever it is comes out," Rive laid down on the wing of the Z-95 as he said this, "... not right away, anyway."

Dakoth
|
"Well, it certianly didn't taste toxic." Dakoth said in a preoccupied tone as he removed a finger from his mouth. "Actually its quite pleasant" The Jedi added with a grin as he busied himself with as he strapped on a pair of Skod's Climbing boots.
"I hope these things can keep traction against that gunk though." The Jedi pointed out. "If not we might have to bring in some kind of grav vehicle, or perhaps parachutes."

The movement silenced. The droid had stopped firing and no one had come to investigate the tree. Was Nova safe? He exhaled and relaxed just a bit. He still didn't know if anyone was on the other side of the tree. He looked left and then right, clear. Nova raised his rifle to his shoulder, he was ready to make his move.
Nova jumped to his right and tucked into a combat roll. He pulled up into a crouch and aimed his rifle. There was a man sitting on a wing of a ship, droid just underneath and some others staring at the tree he was just at. Now he had a split second to chose to fire or not.

"Ugh, how vile." Skod said with a disgusted look scorned across his green rodian and looked at Dakoth as he slurped the green organism into his mouth and ate it.
"And you call yourself a Jedi?" Armia asked, her eyebrow raised, and arms crossed.
"No, Mrs.Delvron, nothing of that sort. I'm like to call me a lady's man extradionare--" Dakoth quick remark was cut off as a scream was heard screech through the night. Their heads snapped to the odd tree where a large portion of the "investigation" team was surroudning. The scene was quite fit for the unknown scream by the random spectator. Possibly because of the possible armed suspect who had a raised a powerful-looking blaster rifle shoulder level and was in a crouch, pointed right at---Skod's small group near the other nearby tree.
However, one was missing from Skod's group. And one would have forgotten Vash who was also in a crouch positon, the Galactic Security officer was aiming his cross hairs at the assailant with his standard blaster pistol . His steady aim at the man, caused him to turn his sniper rifle's barrel in his direction---everyone was silent--the unclicking of safety locks on their guns were the only thing heard between the two combat-skilled men.
It was unfortunate for the unkown assailint as the tables turned as the others in the group, pointed their projectile weapons at him.
"You have no chance. Mine aswell give up instead of being pumped full of bolts." Vash warned, trying to impede the man of any furthur hostile actions.

((Eep, very limited time today))
Rive craned his neck forward and glanced at the numerous weapons being aimed.
"Eezee, if anyone shoots you, the ship, or me - ah, especially me - you shoot them back."
E0 twirted an affirmative response.
"Ah, best droid I ever stole," Rive said, putting his head back down against the Z-95's engine cowling, "Ooo, the stars are -" he shielded his eyes as the sky pulsed white and another desperate crew's ship came down blazing " - pretty"
((I think we established it was dusk by now - or sunset - or something, maybe even night? If it's still dusk then Rive was looking at the very first - and brightest - stars visible in Kallibann's night sky.))

Dakoth
|
Dakoth, completely ignoring both the disturbance outside the spire and the odd burning sensation in his mouth began busying himself with slowly lowering a climbing rope down the black sinkhole in an attempt to discern its depth. Thus far the attempt had been futile. the pit continued to swallow the rope as if it were some sort of living thing.

((Hm... No posts today? I suppose that means its time to up the pace a bit ))
Armia uncoiled the durasteel weave rope she had brought back from Skod's speeder (almost certainly without permission, based on the glare he was giving her with his bulbous Rodian eyes) and wrapped it around herself in the pattern of a primitive harness.
She wrapped the other end around one of the landing gear of her Jedi Starfighter. She then submerged a bit of the metal coiled rope in some slime along the inside wall of the spire by the entrance "door" - nothing happened.
"Well, at least it doesn't seem to eat very fast," she said with a smile to Dakoth, who was still toying with his more traditional rope - and making some odd movements with his mouth, "it probably is eating away at the iron in your cheek lining though, you may want to... rinse"
With that, she snapped a glowrod on and dropped into the depths.
She had entrusted with her other comlink with Skod, rather than "lady's man" Dakoth. Although neither option had really appealed to her. Where had Master Caedo run off to anyway?
"Do you see anything yet, my dear? Omit no detail!"
"Slime, lots of slime, it seems to be being fed in through small tunnels in the walls - about 6 inches wide... still the same white color of the upper spire..."
The comlink was silent for about twenty seconds, "I ah, I think I can see a floor below me - ye*crrrrrzztttt*" the transmission fizzled out.
"Ms. Delvron? Come in! Ms. Delvron?!"
"*kzrrrrt*ill here, I'm still here. There's an archway in front of me. It leads down a hallway, I'm *bzzt* going down it," only Armia's footsteps - now obviously on solid footing rather than slime - could be heard for a moment, "the walls of the hall are decorated with designs - pictographs. Here's a planet, and a ship, an*zzzrrrppppt*ghtsaber? What... *zzzzztttrrrp* no, that's not possi*mzzzzttt* oh no, oh no, oh n*bssszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*"
"Hello?" Skod said quietly this time, "Ms. Delvron?" he paused, "RESPOND!"
"*zzzzzzzzzzt* not possible, it's just not possible..." The sound of the comlink dropping to the floor crackled across, "Stay back! I can still defend mys*rrzzzt* I know who y*pzrrrrt*" A lightsaber could be heard igniting, followed by a scream, followed by a loud crunch - and the comlink went completely dead - nothing but an ongoing static.
Skod, Lena, Dakoth, and a few others all stared at the small cylindrical comlink in Skod's slightly shaking hand. Master Vos walked over to the entrance - looked downward briefly - and began to pull up the durasteel rope. After nearly a minute, the job was done, the knot of the back of the rudimentary harness was still intact, but the three loops Armia had her arms and hip through no more than two minutes ago had all been snapped apart - ragged at the ends.

"I think we should revise our strategy," Xander said simply, staring at the ragged steel rope in his hands. Looking around at the group, he sighed deeply. "I think for the first time ever, I have to admit that we need help from anyone handy with a blaster. I'm not bad myself, but the more we can get the better. And we'll need light, lots of it. Preferably high-quality lamps, we need to be able to drop them down ahead of us, to make sure we're not about to drop into the jaws of some maniacal wilderbeast."
|
Dakoth
|
"Are you crazy?" Dakoth said, his face flushed with anger. "Armia needs our help down there! For all we know shes lying on the ground staring up here waiting for our help!"
"Dakoth.." Xander started. "Armias... she's.."
"Get out of my way." The Jedi growled disdainfully, forcefully pushing past Xander, storming out of the spire.
"I'm getting a blaster rifle and I'm going down there. You cowards can do whatever you want."
((Oh poor poor silly Dakoth. Not very Jedi like of you.))

Nova stayed there with his eye in his scope watching the sniper that now aimed his rifle at him. He glanced to his left to see the droid that had a better reaction time then any non-Jedi here, tuns out they were the one's with the blasters at each other.
"You have no chance. Might as well give up instead of being pumped full of bolts." The man with the sniper yelled to Nova. It was only then that Nova saw that there was other blasters pointed at him. He stood up but still had his eye in his scope watching the sniper's barrel slowly pointing more upwards.
Nova took his eye away and looked left and right. He tried to find a way to get away but he could find anyway to get out. Maybe he could get a shot off on one of the snipers but that droid would take him out no matter what. So he slowly lowered his rifle.

(Ah, ambitious and fearless Dakoth lol, going down the hole to save the "dead" women.)
Vash lowered his blaster to his side, and stood up from his crouch. The unkown assilant with the rugged sniper rifle had lowered it by his side, knowing that he was outnumbered.
"Good choice." Vash said, still keeping at the ready, his reflexs ready to spring. However, no confrontation came as the man unexpectedly jumped into the darkness of the night, in a thicket of bushes, and who knows where. He'll be back. He then turned his attention to Lore, Vin, and Lena. At the moment, he had not given them any objectives and since all this commotion, his comrades seemed to be unorganized. He called them over to the side, away from the spire.
"Alright, I want to keep this whole team top notch. Vin, have you been recording this?" Vash asked, looking at the geologist who's faced was lightly sprayed with sweat, and his white lab coat dampered.
"Of course," He said with a almost irritated look that was quickly washed away as Vash gave him a stern look. (He didn't want to pull ranks, but if he had too, he would.) Vin then took out a small, fixed camera lenses , that had been clipped to his undershirt collar and concealed.
"This should give Revenous some evidences of our doing and at least some extra pay for our recorded phenomenon of the spire changing and all--" Vin was explaining before being cut off by Lena.
"It doesen't matter, we still have to get off this planet."
"Exactly," Vash answered, "And our best bet is sticking with that Skod person and his group. I want Vin to go with me, the rest stay inside the ship where we first landed. You can watch from the video recording feed."
"Why me..?"
Lena and Lore didn't look so happy; Lore who like always was silent, and had his scaly arms folded.
"Because, you're a geologist, and if we go down the Spire, you might know some of the stuff we find. I'll be your shield." Vash said.
"Fine...I mean, yes sir."

When Shin heard the crunching sound from the comlink he backed up slightly. The Jedi was dead and whoever else went down their would probably share the same fate. Shin drew his blasters. "I'm ready to go down there"

((Long posts ftw!))
"Good," Xander said, "Now, we need someone to go back to the main camp and round up whoever we can. We need them to understand that its either help us get down this hole and defeat whatever's down there, or be stuck on this rock until we die."
The small group nodded, "Any volunteers?" Xander said. When no one put their hand up - it seemed they were all pumped with adrenalin, ready to go down the hole - Xander sighed, "Fine, I'll go. I'll try and be back as fast as I can. No one go down there until I return. I don't want anyone else dying."
Dakoth walked bask Xander briskly, his should turned in such a way as to knock Xander aside unnesescarily. Xander turned to him, his brief surge of anger melting at the sight of the man hurrying about his duties, preparing to go down the hole and face whatever was at the bottom.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Xander asked, "Yes, she could be alive. But by those pleasent sounds we heard on the comlink only five minutes ago, it sounds like she became dinner for whatever lives down there. Do you really want to be its dessert?"
Dakoth bristled with anger, "Is this really the time for jokes?" He hissed, glaring at Xander, "A fellow Jedi is in trouble, are you just going to stand by and wait for a band of pirates, and smugglers to come help us? We're Jedi, we don't need that sort of help."
"I find that jokes keep the mind off the more serious side of matters," Xander said, shrugging, "And yes, we're Jedi, but right now, with this lovely Force void we're standing on, we're nothing more than - in my case - fit, muscular, and good with a blaster." He paused, looking Dakoth up and down, opened his mouth to say something, but thought better of it. "We need all the help we can get, and pirates and smugglers and who ever else we can find, will be able to help us as much as another Jedi would. So like it or not, I'm waiting until we can get help. Yes, Armia may die, but if we go after her one by one, we'll be picked off by what lives down there, and who knows? Maybe I'll gather help, we'll go down there, and we'll find out that all that happened was she saw her own shadow, backed up, and trod on her comlink. But I'm not going to risk the lives of citizens of the Galaxy - citizens we swore to protect when we became Jedi Knights - on the risk."
Turning, Xander left the small group, knowing there was no time to be wasted, began to jog back to the main camp.
_______(Insert Star Wars style wipe to another scene)_______
((Thanks Rive. ))
Xander, puffing a little - despite his high fitness level that he had bragged about to Dakoth - without the Force, a three kilometre run still took his breath away. Looking throughout the camp, Xander immediately ignored Holonet reporters, who were in a drastically different mood to when Xander had left.
When he had left to investigate the ruins, there had been a feeling of excitement through the camp - and Xander hadn't needed the Force to sense that. Now, there was despair. Many women who had foolishly applied large amounts of make up to their faces were sitting on rocks or in tents, sobbing, some were screaming for various individuals, and others were just sitting in shell-shocked silence.
Moving throughout the various tents, Xander paused at a rather large one, where a large group of Mandalorians sat, poking a piece of charred meat as it rotated above a small fire. Xander blinked, he couldn't believe his luck.
One of the Mandalorians raised his heavy repeating blaster rifle, the safety clicking off. "You just keep on walking aruetti*, don't want any accidental casualties now, would we?"
Xander, calm in the face of danger, looked at the man - or woman - squarely in the face - well, visor - "You know that energy shield keeping us on this planet?"
"Yeah, the one those di'kuts* keep trying to beat. It makes for pretty fireworks though," he said, and his companions visors shook - Xander assumed they were laughing.
"Well, I'm sure you'd all like to return to Manda'lor," Xander said, carefully pronouncing the name as it was meant to be said, "I may be an aruetti, but I believe I can help you. We have a small group outside one of those spires you can see in the distance. We've had a man confirm that whatever is keeping us here is deep under the spire. If we can defeat it, we'll be able to leave the planet."
The Mandalorian looked at him suspiciously, but Xander's use of their language made him less uneasy. This man, whoever he was, could be trusted, at least for now.
"Alright," he finally decided, "Lets go."
Getting to their feet, the Mandalorians began to march out of their tent, and Xander was taken aback by their numbers: he counted over thirty of them.
"What were you all here for anyway?" Xander asked.
The Mandalorian shrugged, "A bit of sit-seeing, the Manda'lore wanted some presents. Jedi lightsabers, you know. Since this world can't use the Force, he thought Jedi would be easy picking."
Xander swallowed hard, and thanked the Force he had left his lightsaber on the ship. He kept walking, now emersed in nerves. He had to tell Dakoth, and Armia if she were still alive, to hide their lightsabers and not mention who they really were. They needed all the allies they could get, and throwing a hydrospanner in the works was the last thing they needed.

Rive finished listening to the audio recording Skod had relayed to him for the sixth time.
"That's not Armia screaming."
R1X-E0 whistled an affirmative response.
"Glad you agree, though I probably would have gone without it anyway," Rive clipped his traditional lightsaber and a smaller, newer shoto lightsaber to his belt.
"Actually, I was going down there anyway - this just means I don't have time to set up a repulserlift to get me down there..." he swung a survival satchel over his shoulder and clicked his new recording rod to his belt buckle - turning it on.
"Are you linked to my recorder Eezee?"
E0 again whistled an affirmative.
"Good," Rive holstered his Bryar blaster pistol and jumped into the cockpit of his Z-95, E0 bleeped in alarm, "don't worry, I'm not taking us high enough to be zapped - I just want you a bit closer to the spire."
Eezee let out a low moan.
"I'm actually going to miss this camp a bit..." Rive said, beginning a pre-flight check.
Eezee responded with a twirddle.
"Well, yes, except that blaster standoff a minute ago," the end of the sentence was cut off by the Z-95's aging thrusters kicking on.
Within a few moments Rive set the Z-95 back down about 12 meters from the spire. He immediately jumped out of the cockpit - walked to the entrance, grabbed and activated both lightsabers, kneeled down, drove both lightsabers into the spire's interior wall, gave a grin to anyone who was looking his way - which included a protesting blue Rodian - and performed a slight twist to drop inside the tower.
Dakoth leaned in and looked down at the slowly falling Rive, "How are you planning to get back up?"
Rive continued to grin for a moment, then replaced it with a slightly open mouth and widened eyes.
Shortly thereafter he fell out of sight - followed after that by the glow of his silver and blue lightsabers also fading into darkness.

Saber accepted the pistol with a slight nod of the head. “You’d think you were expecting a small-scaled war…and a broken eating utensil,” she commented after Lanik listed the equipment he’d be bringing along.
“Who says I’m not?” Lanik replied coolly, but not without a smirk. “The computer reported the beams of light originated roughly seven kilometers south of here,” he said, adjusting his pack.
“Better get a move on, then,” Saber sighed. “I don’t suppose you have a speeder or anything?”
The Sith shrugged. "Even if I did, I'd advise against it."
Saber nodded. "Shall we?" she said, giving a semi-elaborate wave of her arm in the direction they'd be heading, then started walking.
