Hello for the nth timeGreeting Rebels Forum,
I've been here before some of you might recognize the name Alema Dira, that was me, but I got the name changed long ago so that is mainly for people who like me haven't been here in a while. Well I have been searching and searching for a site and couldn't find one. So I figured I would come back to my original Star Wars RP site. I'm 99.99% sure that I am going to stay as active as I possibly can.

Hey there, welcome back again (again... again?)
PS: I'm sorry, but I bet 5 dollars that you won't stay active. That's a 50,000 dollar return based on the .01% odds that you give!

Geez Rive, way to be an extortionist!
Hey hey, maybe you remember Bulter your old and senile master? I think I've only become more cynical and sarcastic recently...

Well then I am just going to have to stay active just to prove you wrong Rive, won't I?
And how could I not remember you Butler. I RPed with you on how many different sites?

Just one question. Even when I advidly RPed here I was always confused by one aspect of the site. I know there is site canon, but how is site canon determined and if there is site canon why do people post in all eras?

The most important aspect of determining if something is site canon is simply if it fits into the existing site canon.
The reason why you have people posting in all eras is because, just like the "real" Star Wars expanded universe, you can fit stories... well... anywhere. In just the past year we've seen books written in the Knights of the Old Republic Era, the Clone Wars, just after Return of the Jedi, 40 years after Return of the Jedi, and over 100 years after Return of the Jedi.
You're also free to make a roleplay that's non-canon, so you can do whatever you want with it without worrying if it fits into the existing timeline of stories.

So what year is site canon at the moment?

That's better answered by Korus (you probably remember him as Xander) than me. I don't usually participate in stories set after Return of the Jedi.

It's generally accepted that we are post-86 ABY. A quick rundown for you though: In 9 ABY, the Thrawn Saga takes place, but instead of his final attack on Coruscant failing, Thrawn actually succeeds. However, when the cloned Emperor returns, Thrawn is unwilling to hand over power believing the Clone to not truly be the Empire. A civil war ensues, breaking apart the Empire, and when the Sith (Located on fictional planet Kroprulu) execute their Outer Rim Sieges over the course of several years, the Empire collapses all together, and the Galaxy descends into anarchy. The Jedi, hidden on Bakura, become more actively involved in the Galaxy, but seeing no inherent problems, make no moves to create a Galactic Government.
In 39 ABY, a long-living Sith Lord, who had been stranded on an inner core world several hundred years before, returns with his own army and fleet, marking the beginning of the Darth Miedo conflict. The conflict rages on for decades, in which time the Kroprulan Sith and the Jedi have become allies. Additionally, the Jedi have gone about setting up a Republic of Worlds Against Darth Miedo, which will eventually become merely the Republic.
In 86 ABY, fifteen years after Miedo's forces were defeated, the alliance between the Sith and Jedi has faded from thought, and the Sith have just ushered in a new, antagonistic leader. As a result the Jedi realise it is time to leave Bakura, discovering the fictional Pacis in the Core Worlds, and leaving for there, leaving behind only the wizened Grand Master and several Council Members so that the Sith believe the Jedi are still there.
All the Jedi and major Sith who attack Bakura are killed, but the Temple is destroyed.
And now, we start anew on Pacis...
However, you can of course have characters set anywhere in the time line, because I don't believe many RPs are actually set up to date. |
