Greetings and salutations!

Garbllhg. I am Alkto Shekl, your own wet and cuddly Selkath. Finally, after years of drifting around in hyperspace I just happened to make a stop at to me unknown Shilkas Station along the way back to Manaan, where the head there told me about this great place he would go to when he wanted to relax. I took his advice, and I hope I won't regret it. He forced me to pay up 50 credits for it, the cheap grlllbgrlg-nerf herder, so I hope to all the bacta and kolto in the galaxy that you're worth it!

Fast responses! I'm already starting to like you! Well, I do have some questions, and I have some difficulties find my way around here in the forums. There're form or ranks, right? What're they for and how do you earn them?

Plus, how does the Sith/Jedi-factions work?

1. There are two rank structures, Sith and Jedi. Then there is a single rank for basically almost anything from a Bounty Hunter to a Politician.

2. Promotions for Sith/Jedi are given out when the faction Council see's fit. Most of them are based on activity. But just because your active doesn't mean you'll get a promotion, if your spamming every thread then good luck.

3. The Sith/Jedi have a set of forums for there faction HQ on the board. When you join one of the factions there forums will be made available to you.

These forums consist of
Council Chambers-
Faction RP-
Faction Discussion-
Faction Elite forum-

The elite forum is for those who have been a Jedi/Sith for a lil' while and gained the rank to unlock the forum. For the Jedi they have some Temple or sumthang... The Sith have a military RP system with ranks for there elite forum.

4. If yours was the last post in the thread edit your previous post. This prevents double-posts which lead to spam and confusion.

To RP you can make any amount of characters you want. Doesn't matter if there Jedi or Sith. So you can be a Sith with your main character and then have another one you use for Jedi. This is allowed because alot of roleplay the situation doesn't allow both factions to be present. Plus it's just more fun when you have your own mini army of ALT characters.

When RPing follow the RP creator rules, if you don't and do what you want then most likely no one will want to RP with you. But if you make a RP you can do what ever you want. You can also submit a ongoing or complete roleplay for Forum Canon.

and remember you don't have to join the Jedi or Sith if you don't want to. But also remember you won't beable to use there forums.

There's been a few people complaining about too many people having human characters (not me - I find it understandable), so I'm sure they'll be happy to see you.

Welcome to the forum, Embeion appears to have covered all the major topics. I will add a bit of clarification though.

The Jedi/Sith ranking systems are basically just the path to leadership on the forum. So if you have any interest in one day moderating, administrating, or having a louder voice on major forum issues - join one. If not, you're fine just choosing an "unranked" title such as Smuggler.

I find playing as a humanoid understandable, but when everyone is human it's.... strange....

Anyway, welcome! Join either Jedi or Sith. Sith is preferable considering our slight decline in members, but they're both great. Or chose a solo rank like others have suggested.

Ironically Xander is a Human Male... Though I'm finishing up with him soon and moving on.

But yes! Other species are certainly welcome!

And it seems someone wants you to be a Sith very badly, that's the most responsible post I've seen Embeion post in a long time!

Hope you enjoy your stay here. There's plenty to do at the moment. A few RPs could still potentially receive new members - just read them carefully so you don't muck up the plot unintentionally - and plenty of debates that are ongoing; maybe you want to share your opinion on the US Presidential Candidates? Or global warming? Or evolution? Or which energy drink you like best? Or you could start your own.

Additionally you can discuss any new Star Wars books you've read, or games you've played in the "Star Wars Universe" section, and any books you've read or games you've played in "The Universe" section.

The General Discussion forum allows you to talk about anything you want basically.

So have fun, and remember, ranks aren't everything, and really at this stage don't mean much, so don't be upset not to get a promotion - the Council has slowed down their promotions recently. If you become a Sith, though, I don't know what they'll do. They're rather eager for members and will probably promote you quickly.

The forum is a rather cosy, intimate place, so there's no chance of a random Jedi Master sneering at you for being a "n00b", so don't worry.

Well, I first found the Selkath last month when I played KotOR, and they beat my old favs, the Mon Calamari by far, plus Manaan was so breathtakingly beautiful!

Hmm, I've always leaned towards the Sith, no matter if it's RP, a video game, or a quiz, but I believe a roleplay is in order to persuade ole' Fish-Eye here to join them. ^^

The different classes/careers your character take on, such as Bounty Hunters, Jedi, Sith, Smuggler, and so on. Is there any restricions and/or rules related to that?

You could, but there wouldn't be a rank for you. I'm fairly sure there's a comprehensive list of ranks somewhere...

Jedi Initiate
Sith Initiate
Mandalorian
Bountry Hunter
Dark Jedi
Grey Jedi
Smuggler

Haha, don't worry about it. You're gonna learn one way or another.

Well, that's a first with the Selkath. Interesting, and cool. Good choice. I've almost always been a Togruta, but I don't RP as much anymore.
