I can see why you wouldn't want this to be added. If it's you're trying to keep the Star Wars feel of this board , thats a moot point since a majority of the posts come in the off topic section.
Maybe to comprimise add a sticky in the Politicians board? If not even after my rant, it's okay.

Thats not the reason we don't want it, so don't put words in our mouth and then argue against them.
Every single political thread or debate or something similar has always led to harsh flaming and the thread locked. We don't need an entire forum of locked threads. |

..... I made an assumption that that's why you wouldn't want it and if that's why it is a moot point. That's not putting words in your mouth.
So then the rules need to be more strict. Use mod/admin powers to suspend people who resort to insults. The impression I'm getting is that the rules are flawed more so than the idea. Politics/Ethics/Morals/Religion gets discussed regularly on the MB2 boards and it never resorts to flames or insults. There is even a whole forum dedicated to those topics and it never resorts to what you speak of. http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/ |

True. That's always the case everytime you post something on a forum in a thread. Even if it's something as simple as an introduction that you are new. But if rules were more strict then people wouldn't have to worry so much about flames in debates. In the MB2 forum people don't flame each other unless jokingly. If they do they are temp banned i.e. suspended. |

TCO, by assuming the reason, your assuming what we were going to say, and thats putting words in our mouths before we got a chance to justify our reason...
Perhaps the mods and admins are sick of banning people and have just resulted in not allowing these flame-bait threads. I can't read their minds. |

I was just thinking, the Jedi Temple board is severely underused, perhaps we could Debate there. I'm not saying get rid of it, just put Debate threads in it, and we wouldn't need to worry about Spammers because only Knights can post there. | ||||

Meep mop, it's not really a debate section though. It would be going in the wrong section. It's like saying use the other factions section to talk about things that belong in other since it's underused. |

Well, my trial run of a debate forum's worked really well with some really hammered-out rules. All you have to do is scare people into being mature and it works.
