Oh. Well actually it looks correct its just the lighting it weird on the blades so it looks diffrent but if you look at his arm movements that correspondes with the lightsaber, you can tell that he hits the second strike. | ||

What? If it was inside the blade then Obi-Wan couldn't have been fast enough to block it or move the blade to another position. Heck, the blades probably shouldn't have even touched if Darth Maul's was inside. | ||

We all know Maul should have one the match, but because of timeline purposes, Obi couldn't die, and Maul wasn't going to run away. | ||

It seems some people can't accept that Maul was cool looking and had a great saber but wasn't all that awesome. Obi-Wan won because it was the will of the Force and he was a smarter fighter then Maul and far wiser. Also Maul was the Sith Apprentice, even though he may have had the title of Lord. | ||

Maul was one of the best duellers in the series, and Obi wan wasn't his superior, it was just for timeline purposes. | ||

I know. Shatterpoint, you obviously haven't read any books on Darth Maul. Darth Maul was much more superior than Obi-Wan. And so I guess if Darth Maul was still an apprentice, that makes Vader an apprentice, so you should put him on the same level as Luke. Darth Maul should've won. Like Zoxa said, it was timeline purpose. Darth Maul wiped out Black Sun by himself. I don't see Obi-Wan doing that. And no, I don't like Darth Maul just because of his saber. Not everybody likes him just because of that. It was because of his saber that he should've one, giving him better reach, greater attack, and greater defense. | ||

I did not say Maul wasn't as good of a fighter as Obi-Wan when it comes to raw skill, I said Obi-Wan was the smarter fighter, which enabled him to beat Maul and Darth Vader( PT). Also, Darth Vader was much stronger in the Force than Maul and was on a higher level, especially in the OT because he became a smarter fighter ( I guess the little incident on Mustafar tought him a lesson, lol  )
And using a double bladed lightsaber does not give you much of a atvantage, it is just as dangerous to you as it is to your opponent. I fail to see how a arrogant Sith who happens to be a good duelist is better than a perhaps slightly lesser duelist who was wiser and knew how to fight smart. P.S. I just knew that you would post something like that, lol.

Sorry, but I am with Lisa on this one. (And no, it's not because she's a high rank, or she's my friend, cause I am sure you'd say thats why I'm on her side.) I agree with her, Maul could never have won. I don't need to say anything, because Lisa already said it. Sorry man, if Maul was so smart, then he would have sliced Obi-Wan in half at the part where you said he could have.

Exactly. Look at it this way people. Darth Maul WON the Duel of the Fates, he defeated both Jedi. He just didn't finish the job, he thought he won before he actually did. Same with Mace, he BEAT Palpatine, but wasn't able to finish the job. | ||

Ok. I'm going to sum it all up.
Darth Maul fought and DEFEATED both Jedi. He out-duled them, even if he had to seperate them. He became overconfident, and ended up failing to FINISH the fight, due to a timeline fact that Obi-wan needed to live. The duel would have been A LOT different if the timeline wasn't there. Either way, Maul was killed, due to overconfidence, but he actually won the match. Case closed. |
