BrisingrDid anybody read Brisingr? I thought it was so good. I totally figured out what was coming though.
I started reading the book about 6:00 in the afternoon and finished at 3:00 the next morning. I couldn't put it down. Now I'm DYING until the final book in the series comes out.
What did y'all think?

Never heard of it, sorry. o_o

Neither did I. I'm just waiting for someone to be like "I loved it" and then I could be like "Me too" when in reality I have no clue what the devil you are talking about.

It's part three of the "Inheritance" book series (ever heard of "Eragon" or "Eldest"?). I bought the three in a box set but I decided to reread the first two (I read them last year but I want to clarify what the crud is going on). One of my friends read it and vaguely keeps telling me:
"HE DIED?!"
"Who the crud died?"
I can't wait for book four too....

Wow, I thought a lot more people would have read it. *sniff* That makes me so sad.
You are all missing so much.

I never got into that series...plsu, I hated the movie and that kind of stuff doesn't interest me. Mario Puzo books are the best.

Yah, the movie WAS horrible, I didn't like it at all. The books were way better.

Bye the way, who in the world is Mario Puzo?

I am reading it right now, I bought it but haven't finished it. It's okay, the author is an okay writer but he's no great storyteller like Tolkein or J.K. Rowling. I read the books as a filler between my harry potter books, so now I am just curious as to how it ends but I'm in no rush to finish it.

Author of awesome Mafia-themed books, his most famous being the Godfather.

In my honest opinion, I think Christoper Paolini ripped too many ideas off from other authors and other worlds. At first I didn't want to read his books, then later on I thought maybe I was being too hard on him. So I gave Eragon a chance - I didn't buy it mind you, I wasn't about to waste money on it - but after reading two or three chapters, which are amazingly short, I put it back down. His thoughts are incoherent, and he seems to teleport his characters from one place to another. It's very obvious that it was written when he was sixteen and to be getting this much attention is only because of it. He only had the book published because his father owns a publishing company. He tried to publish it with other companies but they wouldn't have him, and for good reason. He should have waited to have it published to take a few years to grow up and refine it.
I suggest you read other fantasy books, such as books in the Forgotten Realms world. Authors like R.A. Salvatore and Paul S. Kemp. You'd be better off.

The movie was the most amazing crap I've ever seen. I just wonder how they degenerated the book so well into absolute worthlessness.
Agreed. Paolini (sp?) is a good author, but NO AUTHOR ON EARTH compares to Tolkien.

Mario Puzo does. This is based massivly on my heritage and love of the mafia books...but mind you his movies are better

Bought it, reading it as soon as I have some room.
Wasn't this meant to be a trilogy??? Smells of money-making.

Yeah, it was going to be a trilogy. While writing the third book, though, Chistopher Paolini decided maybe he should make it four books when he had 1000 pages written, and was only halfway through the book.
