As if Nintendo couldn't go any lower...http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55063
Though playing through MP 1 and 2 sounds amazing with Wii controls, seriously. this isn't an excuse to not make new games specifically for the Wii.

I don't know. It seems like a good idea to me. Nintendo really needs a kick in the pants. Just as long as they don't re-release like every Gamecube game out there, it seems fine to me.

There are 2 non-Metroid games on Gamecube. SSBM and Geist. Thats all I care about, plus the Wii has Brawl already.

I'm kinda interested in seeing old Metroid or Legend of Zelda games be released.

I agree halfway. I am disappointed with the fact that there's nothing really interesting truly new coming down the pipeline (except for The Conduit maybe).
BUT! I never played Metroid Prime 2, so this announcement actually really excited me since it sounds like a lot of fun with Wii controls (I found MP3 immensely superior to MP1 for that reason).
Nintendo does need to get its act together for the WiiToo and give it a power level equal to the Microsoft and Playstation consoles. I really want to play Resident Evil 5, but I don't want to play it without Wii controls - so I won't get to play it.

I love the wii's controller, and all that, but when i got it, i was expecting, ya, know, awesome sword fighting games. What i got, was, well, Wii Fit. I'm somewhat mad at that.

Is Nintendo getting desperate? Probably not. Those big corporation guys are swimming in piles of money....or yen...or whatever their currency is.

MP was better than in every way possible, in fact, if 3 had been made for GC, it would have been the worst in the series.
MP>MP2>MP3
The controls were it's only saving grace, in 3 the boss battles lost all originality, and it was easier than Kirby Air Ride (Well, not that much, but it was too easy).
I will agree with you though, The Conduit is currently the only highlight of the Wii's future, hopefully Disaster:Day of Crisis turns out okay.

There's only one Wii game I enjoyed and that's Spiderman Friend or Foe (.... don't ask....) because I played it with a friend and it used the classic non-Wii-velized control system.

Super Smash Brother Brawl was also really good. I think the Conduit is going to suck and that's maybe the only thing on the horizon for Nintendo in North America and Europe. These crossover titles are just a way to keep unhappy Nintendo fanboys busy for awhile.

I still think the Super Nintendo was the best console ever. Not in terms of Graphics or any of the newfangled stuff on these 360's and Ps3s.
It just had awesome games(Battletoads, Super Star Wars, Super ESB, Super ROTJ, Starfox(the original. I love that game.) and so many more)

On that topic (yes, I know this is a bit of a divergence) I just bought Mega Man 9 for the Wii. Fun return to 8-bit gaming. And it's really really hard (like the old games were).
I'd actually like to see a lot more stuff like this happen. New games made with deliberate limitations to 8 or (preferably) 16 bit graphics. I'd love to see "Super The Phantom Menace" "Super Attack of the Clones" and "Super Revenge of the Sith" and I'd pay good money for them!
To heck with the Wii, the 360, and the PS3. I want new SNES games!
PS: Get off my lawn.

SNES is the best, Super Mario RPG does not lie.
(HInt, buy that next Rive, excluding SUper Metroid, it is the greatest thing to hit the SNES, with the possible exception of FFVI)

Super Mario RPG was rather great. Paper Mario has never really lived up to its standard.
But yes, I've already played that. I didn't play any of the Pre-3D Final Fantasys however (although I DID play Chrono Trigger - which was also a Squaresoft RPG for SNES that was really great). It's something I've always meant to do, but I've never gotten around to it.

I've never been a huge fan of RPG's but Final Fantasy is epic. FFVII is easily in the top 5 games of all time.
