I was shocked to read The New Essential Chronology (Re-reading actually) and notice Daala never dies. I wookied it, and still no mention of her death, just that she randomly jumped into Hyperspace, presumed dead (there's a big deal about how dangerous randomly jumping into Hyperspace is, but Han seems to do it every second day, so it can't be too dangerous). I'm just wondering, will she show up again, or since she's a Bantam character, have no hope of a return because a Bantam storyline with her death got canned with the new leadership?
Lord Vexen
I think she is done...although it would make sense if she came back. Like Ventress it would be

Yes, but the Millennium Falcon is equipped with Plot-Shielding
It would seem rather strange to me to bring her back - after a 30 year gap of not being spotted, but she was mentioned in... 3 (according to Wookieepedia - I can only recall 1 or 2 of them) times in the New Jedi Order series - so perhaps they have plans for her.
Though that doesn't say much - since a rather dead villain, Joruus C'baoth was apparently mentioned 3 times as well

I know, which is why I found it weird that she hadn't already been killed off. And since, as you said, she's mentioned in the NJO, they can't kill her off before it, as then it would just be a bit confusing to have her die and THEN have people talking about her as if she's still alive.
Well, they brought back Lumiya after a long gap (both in our and their galaxy), Sal-Solo (though I guess he was in NJO, so doesn't exactly count) and Turr Phenin, why not Daala for Legacy of the Force?
Rive Caedo
It's entirely possible they'll try to use her to bridge some gap between Legacy of the Force and Legacy (the comics). By my estimates the first new emperor of the Empire is crowned sometime between 40 ABY (the year Legacy of the Force takes place) and 70 ABY. She could be involved in that decision.
Xander Vos
Or perhaps they'll write a minor story with her between NJO and Dark Nest (I mean, two series for an era? Please.) With a minor conflict and her involvement, with either her death or her retirement on some out of the way planet (She's a heck of a lot younger than Pellaeon, she could join the navy after all) or head over to the Empire of the Hand (Thinking about it, she could already be there. She was last seen headed to the Unknown Regions, which is pretty much where it is, and its the last vestiges of an independant Empire now that the Imperial Remenant has joined the GA).
Since Zahn said he would love to write a book in Legacy Era about a cloned Thrawn returning (which he left open at the end of Survivor's Quest), and bringing in Daala, who has always worked closely with his character Pellaeon, could be perfect. And since it looks like the Empire is about to become independant again the way things are going in LOTF, she could be a perfect GA for them if Thrawn returned to lead them.
Rive Caedo
Though, I'm not sure how much I like the idea of a cloned Thrawn (although I suppose if we do need someone to lead the Empire back to power - without bring Palpatine back AGAIN, Thrawn's the one to do it )... Yes, that would be an opening for her.
I like the idea of something between/around the time of the Dark Nest though, I expect that many people would take advantage of the fallout from the Yuuzhan Vong War more than a few crazy bugs
Anakin
I heard she went back to the Imperial Remnant after her defeats.

Apparently Zahn's open to either, which is why its left so open-ended at the end of Survivor's Quest as to whether Thrawn had actually returned, or whether Mara was just being paranoid.
I agree, and as long as its something minor, no mention of it during Dark Nest or Legacy can be explained away. And as long as they don't start mentioning it like crazy in every book after that book is released as they've tended to do, it should be ok.

Nope, she jumped randomly into Hyperspace, and is presumed dead, though New Republic Intelligence didn't want to believe she was dead, and kept her listed as a threat.

They should have at least some stories at to her whereabouts after that.

IMPERIAL SPECIAL REPORT
Admiral Daala has just been located!
After decades of being lost, one of our finest officers has been found.
Her current location is the center of the second sun of the Tatooine system. An extraction team has been ordered to dive into the sun and retrieve her only remains: her indestructible right molar's tooth-crown, which she received after eating too much Jawa candy when she was young. The crown is made of the same material as Darth Vader's legendary glove.

NEW REPUBLIC SPECIAL REPORT
And that, kids, is why you don't make a Hyperspace Jump without proper coordinates set.
Also - never speak of Vader's glove again.
- General Solo

No word yet on if the crown will resume its post as admiral once recovered. Details as the situation develops.
- Admiral Pellaeon
Anakin
Haha Admiral Molar Crown. The Galaxy's most mute yet dangerous threat yet.

I would love to see her again, I mean, they built her up too much to just say "Oh yeah, her? Yeah she jumped, fell into a sun and died, sorry we didn't detail her death or make it dramatic, but yeah." I mean, she's been in seven or eight novels, they can't just chuck her into a sun.
Xander Vos
I KNEW SHE HAD A BIGGER PART TO PLAY!!
Warning: Revelations spoiler:
Spoiler:
After the Confederation-Galactic Alliance War erupted in full force and Jacen Solo became co-chief-of-state with Niathal due to the arrest of Omas on questionable treason charges, Pellaeon reclaimed his position in the Remnant. Though many of the moffs wished to enter the war on Solo's side, Pellaeon opposed such a move. He summoned Daala, who headed a small Imperialist fleet, to his aid. When he attempted to order the fleet into action against Solo, he was assassinated by Tahiri Veila, the Jedi who had once served under him at the Battle of Esfandia. Daala recovered his body and led her fleet into an alliance with the Mandalorians, while the moffs guided the Remnant into action for Solo.
Sephiroth
Well don't you feel just special? J/k
Spoiler:
Well, at least she's siding with Mandos, hopfully they kick the crap out of Jacen. I've grown quite tired of that guy.

I've put your post in spoilers, because a lot of people are trying to stay spoiler-free - as I certainly will be doing for many books, such as Invincible.
