.:~Universals~:.Universals
By: A.M. Cabrera
“The Pegasus, easily man greatest creation, mans greatest accomplishment. With this ship we are capable of being able to travel to stretches of the universe that we never thought possible. There are 2,000 quarters inside of the vessel total. It is 9260 meters long, equivalent to five miles long. And it is 5556 meters wide, equivalent to 3 miles.
Its original architect, Dr. Miller died 76 years ago obviously before he could see the final aftereffect, of his vision could be complete. The original building process started in 2098 A.D. taking over half a century to draft the design for the ship, that was Dr. Miller’s responsibility but before he died he managed to complete what he envisioned. He died at the age of 97, and started the drafting at the age of 47 hours after he managed to complete the drafting. And might I add that Dr. Miller died of natural causes. But before he could come up with the design for a power source, he died. So we had to come up with the design ourselves.” A woman of articulate words stood in front of the large population of over 500,000 she did not hesitate in her words or even appear to be nervous, was giving one of the most important speeches in human history. For the woman in the red dress and curly brown hair was telling world leaders, and top scientists of physics and evolution theories was describing the Pegasus, man’s first galactic transport vessel. She licked her lips and took in a deep breath and continued her speech.
“So those who were already part of the project began to research in the power sources that could power such a vessel. When one man who is known as the great grandson of Dr. Miller, Syrus Miller, came up with the theory of “Brain Manipulation,” Everyone looked at her arduously, and this was now the moment that she was waiting for. The moment that she couldn’t wait to tell everyone looking at her, again
She drew a deep breath and leaned into the microphone floating inches about the stand. “Universals, the very first artificially altered brain, manipulated to follow any order that is sent into it. Now as humans we have the ability to use 10% of our brainpower. Universals can use all 100%, but the consequences would obviously be great if we could control a Universal. The explaining of the Universal I will leave to Mr. Miller.” The woman said and lifted her hands presenting Syrus who was sitting next to her.
Everyone in the room broke out in to blaring applause as he stood out of the hovering blue chair. He approached the stand as the woman gave a flirtatious smile to him. He gave a weak smile back to her and stood in front of the stand. Slowly the applause began to die out as he waited.
“Hello, obviously I am Syrus Miller: the great grandson of Ronald Miller. Now a Universal is an infant breed human, which was instantly placed into chamber where the Universal would be isolated from the world, so it has no knowledge of hate, revenge, jealousy, pain, and most of all…love. The consequences of a Universal knowing about such emotion could be catastrophic. Out of hate for something she could simply rip open the Earth, of cause a natural disaster. The Universal has never come in contact with a human, and the Universals life style has not changed by the slightest degree of temperature. For a Universal is completely isolated from everyone and everything, other than the tube in her body, the helmet on her head, and the waves that travel in and out of her mind.” It felt good for Syrus to tell everyone this; it felt good to know that he and a choice few didn’t have to hold this secret any longer. Everyone looked at him with a sense of stupefaction, which he expected considering what he just revealed to them.
“A Universal will only do what the waves tell her to do, and depending on the strength of the wave, will determine how much brain power she will have to use for the task. A Universal without question is absolutely, without a better word to describe her…is perfect. And in six months on the anniversary of the death of my great grandfather, we shall launch The Pegasus in to space, and will be gone for twenty years, exploring space. So everyone who is going on the exploration, spend every moment that you possibly can with your family and loved ones. For if you have a child you won’t see them until they are fully grown men and women. Now those who have authorization to ask myself or fellow scientists questions please meet us inside of the courtroom."

I thought the dialogue and description was a bit weak, as well as the punctuation.
