"The Jedi do not kill their prisoners...... No one deserves execution, no matter what their crimes." - Bastila Shan, from KotOR I.
I find it ironic that she's the one who says it. She captured Revan and the Jedi Masters erased his memory. So, s/he became someone else. Could we say that the old Revan was "dead", then? If so, didn't the Old Republic Jedi kill him/her? I wonder, was that the right thing to do?
I'm only a Padawan seeking wisdom from the Masters.

Revan was still dangerous though

The didn't excute/kill him. He was still alive, he just had a new memory, and yes, it was the right thing to do, it was the only thing to do. They couldn't kill him, obviously, and they couldn't keep him the way he was.

Agreed, then. But I have two more questions: if he didn't/couldn't remember a thing, why didn't they tell him the truth? And why did they use him as one may use a tool?

They didn't want him to regain his powers and become a Sith again.
He was too dangerous to become a Jedi again. That's why they're so reluctant to train you when you do get trained.

Yes, but if he had been lured by the Dark Side, keeping him far from it shoud have been enough, and telling him should have been even more useful... Shouldn't it?

I dont think so because telling him would induce his lust for power.

Was what they did any different then playing God? I think that was wrong and immoral on the part of the jedi.

I think that erasing his memory was a very good thing. by erasing his memory he was no longer a threat. It is much better than killing him becuase killing him is not the jedi way.

Your studies of the Jedi are going well I see, and you have formulated opinions on them. That is very good, Padawan.
Budokan, is it any different than Darth Plagueis to control the midi-chlorians to create life?
I think that the 'playing God' debate can be attributed to the real world more than you can the SW world, because the SW is fake. One 'playing God' debate is the cloning of humans in the real world, NOT the SW world. Or the recent debate on the face transplant.
