From Dracula to Twilight, vampire lore has changed quite a bit.

Which movie/book do you think accurately portrays the vampires? Or which kind of vampires did you enjoy the most? I know it's a myth, but still, come on! Vampires sparkling in sunlight?!

Mine would be a close call between The Lost Boys and Near Dark, as they were the very first vampire movies I understood. Ever since then, I've always associated vampires with biker music. Mad

Besides, I like biker vampires. There's an air of badassness that revolves around it.

I rather enjoy Buffy the Vampire slayer's take on it. The vampire having some degree of control and a shadow of their former personality - but still being driven towards evil. Even so, they're able to adapt to the time period they're in and not driven towards creating some quasi-culture of specialness (ala Twilight, I believe).
Plus they kept the standard restrictions: No direct sunlight, stakes through the heart kill.

... I can't recall if they used the garlic restriction or not. They did use the "holy objects" restriction though.

You always seem to have a picture for everything.  Laughing

I always thought Blade was a bit better than Buffy, though that could be due to me only seeing half of a Buffy movie (got scared when I was a kid, played Pokemon in my room instead.)

The Werewolf age is coming soon I bet.

Well there was only one Buffy movie and it was completely different from the TV series and no one particularly liked it AND it didn't make much money. I never saw it, actually.

I still don't know how they managed to get it turned into a TV series after the movie failed, but I am glad they did Razz

The only episode of Buffy I can recall having a genuine scare factor is Hush because the bad guys were "11" on a creepy scale from 1 to 10 Wink

Ahhh, that's most likely why. I've had a bad habit of not watching shows unless I've been at the start, because most of the time I don't know what the frak is going on. >_>

Yeah, I actually watched Buffy via The Chosen complete series set being loaned to me. It's definitely a series that's better to watch from the start.

My favorites were always the ones from 30 Days of Night. In the words of my dad: "Those guys would tear Edward Cullen a new a**hole".  Razz

Any modern vampire stuff is utter garbage and I cannot stand it.  There, I said it.

Twilight, "Vampire's assistiant"

If you aren't in a castle in trannsylvania, sleeping in a coffin, and in possesion of at least one title of nobility, explode in sunlight, and can turn into a bat, you're not a vampire.

I'm pretty sure Ann Coulter fits that description.
