Salutations

Mr. Retro Dark Adept Joined: 05 Jun 2009 Posts: 5 Location: Ottawa, ON, Canada Hey, I'm Mr. Retro. If you want to know about why I chose the name, it's because I'm in love with 50s futurism, and 50s music. It's a thing of mine. I'm a writer, and an avid roleplayer (albeit I am not able to do it often as my friends often bale on me) and I am familiar to system-based roleplaying and "freestyle" roleplaying. I'm also an administrator on several forums and I know how hard it is, so I'll give you guys as little trouble as humanly possible. Ironically, I found this site through an article badmouthing this place. http://www.sffworld.com/forums/blog.php?b=93#comments. That was the link to the place. Honestly, I couldn't care less what little scandals went on here, and hearing about what happened only made me want to join more, because it meant people actually had opinions here. Sorry if you guys wanna keep this dead, I'm just saying how I got here. I've been more-or-less a fan of Star Wars for most of my short life (I'm fifteen, turning sixteen in November), although I'm much more a fan of science fiction in general. One of the reason I decided to join this place is because I read Darths and Droids, and since I actually found the concept of the movies being roleplays in reality, I thought this might be fun. My characters are probably going to be Knight Templar types, amoral psychopaths, or just people who like to enjoy themselves. I enjoy talking to people via IM, so feel free to do that. I must warn you, though, I'm a narcissist who has a very dark sense of humour, and I'm also incredibly sarcastic, so a lot of you might find me frustrating to talk to. Anyway, welcome to Rebels! We're glad to have you! I also love how you described your writing style: it's the kind of stuff I'm fascinated with an live by: Dark, interesting, and unquestionably serious. My character is an amoral nihilist, so we'll get along just fine Also, if you want an already established order, join Jedi. If you want to get into an order just before it gets rebooted (meaning you can participate in roleplays that Korus/Acheron has planned to set the order off), join Sith. Also, the Sith have different Orders. I am the head of the Church of the Dark Side and the Council of Inquisitors. Hope you enjoy, and glad to see new blood. Perhaps some good has come of Jianna's incident. _________________

I was in love with Star Trek and Buck Rodgers (Star Trek came out in the 60s, so it counts) since day 1, and I've always thought it was cool how optimistic they were about the future. _________________ "Let's see.
