Revamping the RP system

We all know that there is almost no RP anymore. This is what I came up with to help.

A roleplaying council needs to be put in effect. They would monitor all RPs, approve profiles, decide what can be cannon, etc.
We need to have a standard setup for profiles. I'm tired of seeing three line profiles with no information.
We need a Cannon Rping section and a non-cannon. If someone wanted to make a cannon RP they would have to talk the the RPing council about the details.
We need a starting RP or fanfiction for cannon RPs, a set start for others to expand from. All cannon RPs would be somewhere in this time period. (Or right around it), not having some be 5000000 B.B.Y. and other 300 A.B.Y.

even though that site died, I loved how it was set up. I'm not saying we need to do everything like that, just some of it.

Well, I think the big reason why nobody rps is because we're too busy debating. I'm not saying we should take off the debating section, but we should find some way to do less of it and do more rping.

Approve profiles? WTF?! Don't you dare get the whitemark system. Just point out profiles that are completely AGAINST forum canon.

About canon rp and non canon rp.... non-canon shouldn't need to be approved. Canon SHOULD have to be approved, but you should post a basic story you've setup in a subforum labeled "pending canon". Fanfictions should all be piled together and, only after completion of the fanfic, be labeled canon or non canon and sorted into two subforums (with the main forum as "pending fanfictions" or something about "pending approvement")

Yes, a post with profile information would be nice.

A canon rp should be able to have references from any time period (ex: a holocron from x BBY or an old ship from x ABY) and take place during any period. But if they take place outside of the era of forum canon (that's what? 80 ABY?) they should be minor and not effect the star wars timeline.

I like it for the most part, but we need to tweak certain features of this to match a more lenient idea (than TDSL....). Anyway, we also need more official RPs that I believe the council should create (forum wars should be revamped).

As previously stated, revamp forum wars.... now....

OK here goes:

1. Not enough active people to man a Council.
2. Rive and I keep meaning to revamp the timeline which would help.
3. Destiny Eclipse takes place over a large amount of time, that can be used as a basis if you want. I tried to fix as many problems with our canon in it as I could.

1. There aren't many active people to man the council. Lanik is generally dead, and Anakin disappears for months at a time only to reappear for a day. Dakoth is rarely on, and Xander, you yourself have dwindling activity. But you remain the strongest of all mods, at least Jedi, in activity. Vexen.... he's semi-active (damn... I want his rank). Embeion is all but gone. Rive is perhaps equal to Xander in activity if not more.

The Council is no longer of significance due to a lack of activity.

2. Meh... it may help. However, I want a more Communist control on RPs in that you will start official roleplays (....forum wars.... Without Sin series) and KEEP THEM ALIVE. It's all of our duties to keep roleplaying alive, but the council should be especially dedicated.

Of course, I assume the roleplaying council would be made of ACTIVE skilled roleplayers.

To be honest I think the simplest solution is to either revamp the storyline or create a new one. Let Rebels of old have it's old storyline from Destiny Eclipse and after that just make a site based on some time period (hell, choose one from destiny eclipse then) and stick with it. No jumping around in Rps, give the RPs a purpose and a future. My personal preference is when storylines are developed through RPs for a larger purpose. If you just have someone manning their own storyline for their own purpose and someone doing the same and then just making fifteen characters for random RPs, it's just without purpose. Rebels has survived only because people here are just attached to it. DSL has remained active in RPs not because people do what they want but because I've been trying to drive a storyline through so that everyone is interested and their main characters get some action and have ways to grow.

We should make a guide on profiles WITH INFORMATION on our forum canon date. I had to create a new character (Lord Invictus) due to Mortalis being from a time period non-canon (he was also boring and overpowered. Invictus is a tad powerful for a Sith too, but not a maniac with guns coming out of his arm and a nuclear bomb on his forehead).
