Yeah, I know it might be a little late, but I really wanted to do something for Halloween. This is a horror-themed roleplay and is an almost direct rip-off of Dead Space/Death Troopers, but I still wanted to do something fun. This in totally non-canon, so feel free to use any character you want from any era. No need to make long, detailed posts. This is just to celebrate the holiday. Have fun.  Smile

It had been 3 days since Republic command had lost contact with one of it's cruisers, Nostromo, in the dead space not far from the planet of Dathomir.

Sirak Sazen fell in and out of sleep in the cockpit of his small, nameless freighter as it passed through hyperspace towards the last known signal of Nostromo. He'd been part of small team of Jedi dispatched to investigate the disappearance. Most of the Jedi deduced that a loss in power or a failure in the ship's communication system was the source of all the problems. It would be a simple mission. Finding a military-sized cruiser wouldn't be hard and restoring contact would be no trouble at all. They couldn't be more wrong.

A beeping noise from the control panel woke Sirak from his sleep. He rubbed his eyes, stretched, and prepared to decelerate from hyperspeed.

Meanwhile, the Sith had their own intentions. Word had spread that an ancient Rakatan artifact had been discovered on Dathomir by the crew of Nostromo. The artifact had the power to increase the Force abilities of any user by tenfold. Letting it fall into the hands of the Jedi wouldn't be an option. Lord Charon assembled a small task force of Sith to find Nostromo and recover the artifact. Even a Sith couldn't imagine what was about to happen.

"What have we got?" Slag said, approaching the glowing red holographic table - the sole illumination for this small tactical room of the Sith cruiser.

The Sith officer standing over the table shrugged, "Not much. Republic ship. Big ship. Small crew. Called Nostromo."

The hologram zoomed in from its general overview of the galaxy to display the planet Dathomir. Then a small light appeared near it and started blinking.

Slag rippled his brow in thought, "Sounds familiar."

With another shrug the officer responded in a bored tone, "Not sure why it would. Just one of the countless mining ships plodding through the galaxy. A lot of them have been around since the Army of Light - repurposed military ships."

Incredulously, Slag shouted - echoing loudly through the small room, "You can't be serious, that was over a thousand years ago!"

Opening her eyes from the wince she'd displayed during the overly loud exclamation, the officer responded again, struggling to keep a professional tone, "Well, I'm sure all the original durasteel has been replaced over the years - many times. All I meant is that it's probably an ancient design."

"How fascinating. But we're not really interested in the ship itself, are we?" Slag laughed a mercenary laugh as he exited the tactical room spinning a blaster pistol on his finger.

Xander Vos sat in one of the small, cramped, crew quarters aboard the freighter the Council had given them for the mission. Despite grumbles of protest, he had been unable to convince them to let him fly the Swift Eagle, on the account of it being too recognisable.

Why the notion of recognisability was an issue for a shining beacons of peace and justice in the Galaxy, Xander wasn't sure, but had accepted the Council's demands without question, and as a result now found himself unsuccessfuly trying to find a position in his cot in which he could drift into some semblance of sleep.

Ral sat in the cockpit with Sirak. He was wondering why he was the only Republic soldier on this mission. Ral doesn't mind the Jedi at all. The only thing that bugs him is the fact they can predict your every move, but then again, that comes in handy when they are on your side.

The console started to beep but before Ral could do anything, Sirak was already decelerating from hyperspace.   "So finding this 'Nostromo' shouldn't be hard, should it?"

Mardo woke up from his sleep when heared the bleeping in the cockpit.

how he wished he could trade this crewquarter bunk for a nice bed with fluffy pillows and a sow matras. he grabbed his clothes and walked into the cockpit.

"So we are finaly here, any sign of life on that ship?" he asked as he stretched his arms behind his head.

"We haven't even found the ship yet." Io said with annoyance as he took a thermal detonator from his belt and started to fiddle with it. "Was there any specific area where we lost the signal?" Io asked Sirak.

First Lieutenant James Presley of the Republic cruiser Nostromo lay in a corner propped up against the bulkhead, with one hand covering his wounded stomach and his other hand aiming his DC-17 blaster pistol at the crumbling door.  Any second now it would be blown open and the horrid mutants from without would pour in and and feed on him.  But there was nothing he could do.  The pounding continued, and his makeshift blockade was on its last legs.  The end was near.

As Slag was stepping out of the holographical tactic room in stepped Lord Revenous, his towering figure blocking the doorway and making Slag bump into him but the figure did not flinch.

"Ah, Revenous....sorry about that." Slag said, giving a little nervous chuckle but quickly clearing his throat and stepping aside, allowing Revenous to glide past him. He was adorned in his deep black robes and strode towards the center holographic table.

"This is it..." He finally spoke, his voice actually clear and non-chilling, despite his omnious presence. His gloved hand extended towards the little blip and hovered below it, as if he could grab it from its position in space.

"Yes sir." The Officer nodded, zooming in on the blip and showing the freighters detailed structure.

"Hopefully this ship carries the prize."
