Socialism is somewhat communism + Capitalism. Karl Marx stated that a rebellion of the working class would occur, and that the final product would be communism. Socialism would be in the middle, pretty much a transitional type government in between the fall of capitalism and the rise of communism. Though Stalin pretty much screwed up any chance Communism had.
