(I've finally decided to step out of the hole that I fell in and write some fanfiction for Rebels. I can't seem to ever get the chance to update stuff on fanfiction.net, but for some reason I feel compelled to do something here. ^_^ So, here is a fully canon, not screwed-up, story.)
Chapter 1
Anger.......hate........self-conscious fear..............sorrow..............darkness. He felt all of these things, and yet he felt nothing. So much had happened within the last week. He almost killed his..............friend...Venji Kazu when Venji had turned to the darkside and attempted to kill him. Of course, Leon was going through his own problems at the time, so Venji had his hand removed. Unfortunately, Venji managed to make it off-planet, and was Force only knows where. Then....came Leon's confrontation with his mas...former master, Jedi Master Lyn Korak. Like a power-crazed fool, he tried to strike Lyn down, but alas only ended up get his royal backside handed to him on a silver plater.
Now look at me, he spat in his mind, an 18 year old, former Padawan with no credits, no food, and not a single idea of where I'm going. In the end..........life sucks. That made him think, where was he going to go? He certainly didn't want to go somewhere that the Republic had heavy influence on, and going to any planet that was occupied by the Jedi was just as bad. Pulling up his navi-computer, he looked at his choices of nearby systems. After a few minutes, he locked in the coordinates and set his Delta-7's thrusters as high as they would go. His destination: Korriban.
Three days later
The Sith planet of Korriban finally came into view as Leon awoke from his sleep. Normally, he would've let himself fall into a meditative trance, but lately he was unable to calm his mind enough for such a task and had to settle for regular rest. The starfighter made it's decent into the dead planet's atmosphere, and set down on the outskirts of the Sith Academy. Why was he here? He had the darkness inside him, and the Jedi weren't so forgiving when it came to taking back those who betrayed the Order. Mostly they were suspicious, but on the off-chance that they deemed him unfit to rejoin the Jedi.............he wouldn't let them strip him of the Force. He had come too far in his miserable existence to give up such a valuable ally. No, it was too much of a risk.
His approach to the main entrance was plauged with endless thoughts, his mind relentless in the various questions thrown at him. What if the Jedi were to find him? Could he bring himself to kill his former brothers? Yes... He could hear the darkside whispering to him, begging him to give his entirety into the power. No....surely he was better......right? Shaking such things from his head, he finally reached the door.
"What do you want?" The Sith guarding the door asked. Leon was a bit surprised by the Sith's age, as he looked to be the same, give or take a year, as himself.
The man's tone didn't help with Leon's already troubled situation though, "I'm here to join the Sith." Laughter ensued from the Sith, only causing Leon to become more irritated.
"I don't know who told you that the Sith have an open-door policy, because they were lying. You can't just join the ranks because you got angry and failed your Jedi training. We don't work that way." In Leon's mind, that was strike two for the Sith.
"You have two options: You can either get out of my way and let my speak to the head of the Academy, or I can rip you apart and give them your corpse when I ask to be trained. What do you choose?" Leon could already tell what would happen.
The Sith reached down and unhooked his lightsaber, it's red blade poised to strike. He never got the chance as Leon used the Force to choke him. At first he simply cut off the air supply to the Sith, a bit of a tease if you will, of what was to come. About twenty seconds later however, Leon finally brought his hand into a fist, and with a loud snap, broke the Sith's neck. Looking upon the dead door-man, Leon could hear and feel the darkside within his mind, the whispers returning once more. At the base of it all, he could feel his own agitation at the Sith, and an almost pleasurable joy at what he'd just done. He was so ingrossed in his thoughts he noticed too late that there was a Sith in the now open doorway, and that a wave of Force Lightning was coming into his body.
As Leon flew several feet back and fell to the ground writhing in pain, he was somehow able to still hear what was being said. "Your intelligence must be phenomenal if you thought that was a good deciscion. Killing my apprentice? Oh no, that's not the way you get our attention. I'm afraid you'll have to die." The human Sith explained with remorse.
No.....he couldn't go out like this. Not when he had only just begun his life. He tried to use the Force to bring up a barrier of some kind or deflect the Lightning in some other direction. It was too strong though, and he kept losing his concentration. Soon, he would be dead. But then.....the darkside called out to him, telling him if he used it's power that he could stop the attack. Fine, I will use it, he gave in. He fell into it's depths, allowing the Force to flow through him while he acted as an avatar.
"I'll show you phenomanal!" He screamed, pouring all of his hatred into the Force. With a burst of emotions, Leon sent the Sith back, and ended his attack. He was not unhurt however, and he could barely keep himself on one knee, the ground looking very comfortable to lay down on.
Scindon backflipped while he was airborn, and landed skillfully on his feet, ready to attack again if need be. This boy is strong, a bit of work in controling his powers......but that is not a big issue. Now I can see why Darik fell so easily, this one is far ahead in terms of raw power. Hmmm......maybe I shouldn't kill him. As he approached, he schooled his face into once of indifference. "Why do you wish to join us?"
Leon almost had to ask him to repeat what he'd said, it was too shocking. First he was nearly killed, then the guy asks him a question? Taking a few breaths, he brought his now yellow and red eyes to meet the other set. "I.......wish to continue my training with the Force. I have left the Jedi, and I don't think they'd take me back."
Scindon raised his brow at that, surely there was more. He could sense the anger and hatred in him, somewhere in him was the entire truth. "Is that all?" His voice carried a.......challenge of sorts, a challenge for Leon to give Scindon a little more.
A slow nod came from the yound ex-Jedi, "Lyn........he...held me back. Yet my best friend Venji had no such action held against him. He made Knight while I was still a Padawan, but..........I'm more powerful! I know I am, I took off his fraking hand! I hated him for keeping me limited, I could've taken the Trials!" He didn't know why it was so, and yet he did. He was rash, and stubborn, along with his quick-to-action attitude. That was what kept him back, and he hated them for it.
Such a response was just what Scindon was looking for, and now that he had it, he wouldn't have to kill the boy. "What is your name?"
"Leon Danex."
Scindon turned back to the Academy, taking a few mind clearing breaths before he spoke again. "Darth Scindon, but from now on you will call me Master Scinon. Now come apprentice , we have much to do, as your training starts right now." Not waiting for a response, Scindon walked back into the Academy.
Leon pulled reservoirs of strength to stand on his feet, and took a calming breath of his own before an anxious, "Yes my master." was heard. Slowly but surely, Leon walked through the door, and into the hell that was the Sith Apprentice.
(I've decided to scrap EVERYTHING I've done character-wise up to Lost In Darkness. I have not been in the best mental states at the time I wrote most of the garbage I wrote, and this is a fresh start on my character. Leon will have been born in 20 ABY just to let you know. Also, I won't overpower him in this story, or make impossible situations happen, I've learned how to write better than that. So, I will update when I can. Bye. ^_^) OH, BTW, Scindon is the word Scindo. That's latin for Sound. FYI
